The Global Innovation Ecosystem CUBE is a Berlin-based global innovation ecosystem that aims to promote, create and foster partnerships between industry players and startups in life sciences & digital health, machinery & manufacturing as well as infrastructure & connectivity. Being part of the CUBE ecosystem allows all participants to collaborate on innovative products and ideas in response to concrete industry needs. The annual CUBE Tech Fair, our flagship event, will take place for the first time in May 2017. CUBE Press Kit 2016 CUBE ist ein in Berlin ansässiges, globales Innovations-Ökosystem mit dem Ziel, Partnerschaften zwischen Industriegrößen und Startups aus den Bereichen Life Sciences und Digital Health, Machinery und Manufacturing sowie Infrastruktur und Konnektivität anzubahnen, herzustellen und zu stärken. Das CUBE-Ökosystem bringt alle Teilnehmer zusammen und ermöglicht die gemeinsame Arbeit an innovativen Produkten und Ideen. Die jährlich stattfindende CUBE Berlin Tech Fair, die Leitveranstaltung von CUBE, findet zum ersten Mal im Mai 2017 statt. 4

02 HOW IT WORKS

How Startups and Corporates will connect CUBE is built around four main axes: CUBE besteht aus vier Achsen: CUBE Press Kit 2016 7

How Startups and Corporates will connect To be part of the CUBE ecosystem, startups need to apply and qualify. Once accepted, the top tier will be invited to participate at our various events around the world. At the annual CUBE Tech Fair, 200 chosen startups will exhibit their products to the public for the first time. The remaining startups automatically gain the right to purchase their tickets as attendees. Industry players, on the other hand, join via an annual membership, as do other business entities. CUBE Press Kit 2016 Um Teil des CUBE-Ökosystems zu werden, müssen Start-ups sich bewerben und qualifizieren. Einmal angenommen, werden die besten Start-ups zu CUBE Veranstaltungen auf der ganzen Welt (Global Touchpoints) eingeladen. Darüber hinaus erhalten 200 Start-ups die Chance, ihre Produkte bei der jährlich stattfindenden CUBE Tech Fair zu präsentieren. Alle anderen Start-ups im Ökosystem haben automatisch das Recht, ein Teilnehmerticket zu erwerben. Akteure aus der Industrie können im Rahmen einer jährlichen Mitgliedschaft teilnehmen. 8

Global Impact CUBE works with a network of elite partners: industry-focused startups and corporates; connectors/influencers and global institutions. Every partner goes through a rigorous selection process before joining. We bring global visibility and support to our members with our partnerships and events around the world. CUBE arbeitet mit einem Netzwerk von Entscheidungsträgern zusammen: Industrie-getriebene Start-ups und Unternehmen, Influencer sowie globale Institutionen gehören dazu. Jeder Partner wird auf Basis eines strikten Bewerbungsprozesses sorgfältig ausgewählt. Global Touchpoint Events CUBE will host Touchpoint Events in key cities around the world to connect startups with industry players the first event will take place in Tel Aviv. Im Rahmen von Global Touchpoint Events in ausgesuchten Städten weltweit, bringt CUBE Start-ups und Großunternehmen zusammen das erste Event findet in Tel Aviv statt. CUBE Press Kit 2016 11

04 CUBE Challenge

CUBE Challenge CUBE Challenge is one of the most highly endowed startup prizes worldwide with a net worth of one million Euros in cash. The most innovative startup will see itself rewarded at the annual CUBE Tech Fair in cash, with no equity deal attached. The prize will give the winner a high level of independence and will enable it to form partnerships with the industry more easily. Die CUBE Challenge ist, mit einem Gewinn in Höhe von einer Million Euro, einer der weltweit höchstdotierten Start-up-Preise. Die Summe wird im Rahmen der CUBE Tech Fair an ein Startup vergeben ohne dass dieses dafür Anteile abgibt. Der Preis soll dem Gewinner einen hohen Grad an Unabhängigkeit verschaffen und es ihm ermöglichen, Partnerschaften mit Industrieunternehmen einfacher auszubauen. CUBE Press Kit 2016 14

Dr. TorstenOelkeistseitüber 15 Jahren in derdigitalen Wirtschaft aktiv. Erhatals Unternehmer zahlreiche Unternehmen und Inkubatoren erfolgreich aufgebaut und teils veräußert. Als Executive Chairman von CUBE ist er für die inhaltliche Ausgestaltung, die strategische Ausrichtung und die exklusive Community des gesamten CUBE-Netzwerks verantwortlich. Torsten ist derzeit als Berater für den Bundesminister für Wirtschaft und Energie tätig und versammelt um sich ein internationales Expertennetzwerk aus der Industrie und Start-up- Branche. CUBE wird durch Vorstände von globalen Großunternehmen aus unterschiedlichen Industrien unterstützt. Dr. Torsten Oelke Executive Chairman CUBE For the past 15 years Dr. Torsten Oelke has been an active player in the German digital economy. As a businessman, he has successfully built up companies and incubators. Besides his business activities, he serves as advisor to the German Minister of Economic Affairs. As the Executive Chairman of CUBE has assembled a core team of international experts with extensive experience with industry and startups.
