Nurse Consultation Service / MS Comprehensive Care Centre for MS That s the way we start this two step project Step one: To build a nurse consultant service for MS patients evident based, symptom based incl. training in the application of medication ANP (Level 5) project, 2 years until October 2012
Step two: Nurse Consultation Service / MS Comprehensive Care Centre for MS New project with following overall aim: 1. to analyse current treatment and care of MS patients at USZ and its cooperating partners with a pretest at patients level regarding symptom management, quality of life, adherence and self management 1. to implement and evaluate the MS CCC at the USZ with a standardized, interdisciplinary, multiprofessional treatment and care concept incl. nurse led education for MS patients and their families ANP nurse (Level 7 MNS PhD) for the medicine/nursing aspects and a manager for the economic/operational aspects Starts in Spring 2012
Conclusions Why do I believe that, based on our experience, the use of ANP in clinical practice is important for the future? Without our APN we would never be, where we re today! We wouldn t have the evidence based focus we have now! We wouldn t have the quality of the aim in best practice / best care! We wouldn t be able to get all the information out of the literature! The manager couldn t focus on the management aspects and, therefore, we wouldn t be able to reach our goals in the next years and our development would slow down! The nurses stand behind the gaols because the APN are insider and not experts from outside who don t know there reality
Development of the Portfolio and Action Plan But it s still a long way to go..
