OL BIOLINIE NACHHALTIGKEIT GREIFBAR MACHEN OL BIO LINE IN TOUCH WITH SUSTAINABILITY
As a leader in innovation, for years OL s goal has been to provide products from sustainable resources as a possible alternative to products made from conventional plastics. We wish to achieve this through the use of organic plastics and organic composite materials as well as recycled plastics in our products. By our definition, organic plastics include all materials made from renewable resources as well as materials that are organically based and/or (bio) degradable. Further, we include recycling materials from electronic and household waste in sustainable materials in the sense of prudent resource use and lower CO2 emissions. Thanks to healthy cooperation with the IfBB (Institute for Organic Plastics and Organic Composite Materials) at the Hochschule Hannover school and many years of product development, today we can offer our customers a forward-thinking portfolio of market-proven products made from organic plastics. 5). History: At the start of industrialisation, production was based only on renewable materials (see 1 to the left of the graphic) due to the availability of polymer materials. With advances in petrochemistry, renew able materials were supplanted by petrochemical materials (see 2). Based on these petrochemical materials, in recent decades the first biodegradable polymer materials were developed for certain speciality applications (see 3). Awareness grew that petrochemical-based plastics delivered not only advantageous processing and utilisation properties, but also resource dependence and adverse disposal qualities. Disposal and recycling possibilities increasingly gained importance, such that by the end of the 1980s more degradable organic polymers (primarily based on renewable resources) were developed (see 4). The reduced availability and unstable pricing for petrochemical materials is leading the focus away from the disposability aspect and towards the use of renewable resources, i.e., resources that will be available for longer periods in the future, for materials production (see 5).

Gute Gründe für Biokunststoffe Good Reasons for Organic Plastics Mehr Nachhaltigkeit durch CO2-Reduktion More sustainability through CO2 reduction Wir setzen in der Herstellung konsequent auf die Einbindung nachwachsender Rohstoffe oder recycelten Elektroschrotts, sodass die CO2-Emission der Artikel unserer Biolinie geringer als die 100 % petrochemisch basierter Kunststofflösungen ist. We are committed to using renewable resources or recycled electronic waste in our production, so that the CO2 emissions from our products in the Bio Line are lower than those of 100 % petrochemical-based plastics solutions. In their many uses, organic plastics are on par with conventional plastics with regard to versatility. Colouring, material intensity, abrasion, flexibility and resistance to UV light, heat and cold properties are almost identical to those of conventional plastics. The use of recycled and renewable resources in manufacturing sustainable plastic products increases supply security. The result: more independence from market volatility than with crude oil-based resources. Unschlagbare Zukunftssicherung Unbeatable benefits for the future Umweltfreundliche Kunststoffe sind eine zukunftssichere Alternative. Eco-friendly plastics are a forward-thinking alternative for the future. Further, sustainable production is valued by almost all target groups, while the use of resource-friendly materials enhances one s image and, thus, revenue boosts.
