Entwicklung und Design Sill Optics verfügt über eine eigene optische Entwicklungsabteilung. Mit der Optik Design Software Zemax und der Konstruktionssoftware Solid Works lassen sich optische und mechanische Komponenten spezifisch abgestimmt auf die Belange unserer Kunden entwickeln. This enables the design of optical and mechanical components optimized for the application of our customers. Unsere hauseigene Produktion Das Unternehmen beschäftigt zurzeit 177 Mitarbeiter, davon 135 Mitarbeiter und 11 Auszubildende in der Präzisions-Fertigung für Linsen, Fassungen und Montage. Der Anteil an Facharbeitern, wie Feinoptiker, Feinmechaniker und Werkzeugmacher beträgt über 50%. Qualifizierte Fachkräfte (Feinoptikerinnen) kontrollieren die Linsen nach der Bearbeitung zu 100%. Neueste CNC-Maschinen stehen für das Vor- u. Feinschleifen, Polieren und Zentrieren, sowie für das Drehen und Fräsen der Fassungen zur Verfügung. Täglich werden 1400 Präzisions-Linsen mit Durchmessern von 4 mm bis 300 mm produziert. Weitere Kapazitäten für Beleuchtungslinsen mit einem Durchmesser bis zu 650 mm stehen zur Verfügung. Sondermaterialien können bis zu einer Größe von 1,5 m mit optischer Qualität bearbeitet werden. In House Production Our company currently employs 177 people, 135 (including 11 apprentices) of them work in the precision production for lenses, mounts and the assembling. 50% of these employees are skilled personnel, such as fine opticians, fine mechanics or instrument mechanics. A 100% inspection by qualified personnel guarantees the quality of our lenses after production, coating and assembly. Latest CNC machines are available for preand fine-grinding, polishing and centering of our optical components, as well as for turning and milling of the mechanical parts precision lenses with a diameter from 4 mm up to 300 mm are produced daily. Further capacities for illumination lenses with diameters up to 650 mm are available. Special material with a diameter up to 1.5 m can be handled with optical quality as well. We use approximately 120 different optical quality glass types, including fused silica, calcium fluorid, germanium, zinc sulfide and filter glasses. Kundenspezifische Lösungen Bei Sonderanfertigungen beliefern wir unsere Kunden von der Ausarbeitung der Spezifikation bis hin zum Serienprodukt. Bei Kleinserien und Prototypen werden alle Produktionsschritte unter einem Dach realisiert. Auch die Integration von opto-mechanischen oder opto-elektronischen Komponenten kann realisiert werden. Unser kompetentes Team freut sich auf neue Herausforderungen. Vorschleifen Die Linsenrohlinge (Rundscheiben oder Presslinge) werden mit Diamant-Kronen- Werkzeugen vorgeschliffen. Jede Seite extra, da sich die Krümmungsradien meistens unterscheiden. Ein Aufmaß von 0,1 mm bis 0,2 mm für jede Fläche wird für das Feinschleifen und Polieren beibehalten. Custom solutions We supply our customers from the development of a specification to the final series product. Pre-grinding The lens blanks (round disks or preforms) are pre-grinded with diamond fitted tools, each side separately, since the curvatures are different. On every side an allowance of 0.1 mm to 0.2 mm is maintained for fine-grinding and polishing. Feinschleifen Der Linsenradius wird mit Spezialwerkzeugen feingeschliffen. Auf diesen Werkzeugen sind Pellets aufgeklebt. In den Pellets sind Diamantkörner mit Größen von 5 μm bis zu 25 μm eingesintert. Für den Prototypenbau sind spezielle CNC Maschinen mit zwei Werkzeugen vorgesehen. Diese können das Vor- und Feinschleifen in einer Aufspannung durchführen. Fine-grinding Fine-grinding of the lens radius will be done with specialized tools, onto which pellets are glued. Diamond grains sized 5 μm to 25 μm are sintered in these pellets. 7 Moderne Präzisionsfertigung von Linsen Modern precision manufacturing of lenses Polieren Die Linsenradien werden mit Werkzeugen poliert, die aus Aluminium vorgedreht und mit Polyurethanfolie beklebt sind. Die Folien in den Werkzeugen werden mit Gegenwerkzeugen eingeschliffen, um die geforderte Genauigkeit zu erreichen. Als Poliermittel wird hauptsächlich Ceriumoxyd verwendet. Die Form der Linsenoberfläche, beeinflusst durch die Parametereinstellung an den Maschinen und die Abstimmung der Werkzeuge, wird berührungslos mittels eines Interferometers zu 100 % geprüft. Polishing We use tools lathed of aluminum, plated with a polyurethane foil, for polishing the radii of the lenses. The foils glued onto the tools are prepared by special counter tools to achieve the required precision. Mainly ceriumoxide is being used as the polishing medium. We use in process interferometric test methods, to perform a contact-free measurement of the accuracy of the lens surface, achieved by adjusting our machines and by adjusting our tools. Zentrieren Nachdem beide Radien (bzw. Flächen) poliert sind, wird die Linse in einer Zentriermaschine zur optischen Achse ausgerichtet. Dabei wird die Linse mit einem Laserstrahl auf die genaue optische Achse justiert, mit Spanndornen fixiert und danach der Rand mit ein oder zwei Diamant- Schleifscheiben zentrisch abgeschliffen. Die Facetten werden im gleichen Arbeitsgang anzentriert. Centering After the polishing of both radii, the lens has to be centered to its optical axis. For this purpose we transmit a laser beam and precisely align the lens to its optical axis in a centering machine. We use chucks to fix its position and afterwards we grind its rim centrically using one or two diamond grinding discs. During the same process we also center the chamfers. QED MRF Technologie Als neueste Fertigungsstraße wurde eine Einheit mit Vor-Feinschleifen, Polieren und MRF-Poliertechnologie eingerichtet. Das Magneto-Rheological-Finishing Verfahren ermöglicht eine zonale Korrektur auch feinster Abweichungen vom Nominalradius. Diese Technologie erlaubt es uns Asphären als auch Oberflächen mit einer Güte von kleiner lambda/10 unter kontrollierten Bedingungen herzustellen. QED MRF Technology Our latest establishment is a production line for pre-fine grinding, polishing and MRF polishing technology. The Magneto- Rheological Finishing process ensures a zonal correction of smallest deviations from the nominal radius. This technology allows the production of aspheres as well as surfaces with an accuracy of less than lambda/10 on controlled conditions. Vergütung Linsenoberflächen transmittieren nur ca. 96% des Lichtes. Aus diesem Grund beschichtet (vergütet) man die Fläche mit einem dünnen dielektrischen Material. Diese Schicht aus 5 bis 11 Lagen (in besonderen Fällen bis zu 50 Lagen) vermindert die Reflexionen am Übergang von Glas zu Luft (oder Luft zu Glas). Eine besondere Abstimmung der Schicht zur verwendeten Wellenlänge und Glassorte ist erforderlich, um die Verluste auf bis zu 0,05 % zu reduzieren. Unser Standard- Spektrum umfasst Antireflex-Schichten für den Wellenlängenbereich von 193 nm bis 2000 nm. Coating Lens surfaces transmit approx. 96% of the light (due to reflection). For this reason the surface is coated with a thin dielectric film. This coating consists of 5 to 11 layers (in special cases up to 50 layers) and prevents losses on the glass/air (or air/glass) surface. To reduce reflection up to 0.05% the layer has to be adapted to the required wave and glass type. Our standard range covers anti-reflective coatings for a wave range from 193 nm to 2000 nm. Um die hohen Qualitätsanforderungen der Produkte zu gewährleisten, ist Sill Optics nach DIN EN ISO 9001:2008 zertifiziert und motiviert alle Mitarbeiter zu höchstem Qualitätsbewusstsein. Quality control After all production steps the surface quality of our lenses is controlled with a magnifying glass or a microscope. In order to assure the high quality of our products, Sill Optics has been certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2008. This motivates all our employees to maintain maximum quality awareness. Fassungen Sill Optics besitzt eine eigene Werkstatt zur Herstellung von Fassungen für Prototypen und Kleinserien mit Präzisionsdrehmaschinen und einem 3D-CNC-Bearbeitungszentrum für Sondermechaniken. Bevorzugtes Material ist Aluminium (RoHS konform), jedoch sind auch andere Materialien wie z. B. Titan bearbeitbar. Nach der Bearbeitung werden die Teile schwarz eloxiert oder anderweitig behandelt um Reflexionen zu vermeiden. housings Sill Optics runs its own shop floor for turning and grinding of housings for prototypes and small quantities. We have installed precision turning machines and a 3D-CNC grinding center. Favorable material used is aluminum (RoHS conform), but other materials like titanium are possible as well. After machining all parts receive a black anodized finish or some other varnish to avoid internal reflections. Montage Optische Systeme (Objektive) bestehen aus mehreren Linsen, welche in die Objektivfassungen montiert werden. Die Linsen werden dabei sehr sauber gereinigt, randlackiert und staubfrei in die Fassungen zentrisch eingebaut. Modulare Systeme gewährleisten eine kostengünstige Montage und effektive Lagerhaltung. Alle Objektive werden im Labor geprüft. In der Abteilung sind qualifizierte Facharbeiterinnen beschäftigt. Dabei werden bis zu Objektive pro Jahr montiert und geprüft. assembly Optical systems (objectives) consist of several lenses that have to be assembled into an objective mount. The lenses must be thoroughly cleaned to avoid any dirt or dust. Attention must be paid to make sure they get centrically set into their mount. Modular systems ensure cost-efficient assembly as well as effective stock keeping. Our assembly department employs 20 skilled technicians. Here, we assemble up to objectives per year. 9 einleitung industrielle bildverarbeitung preface machine vision Seit mehr als 40 Jahren baut Sill Optics telezentrische Objektive für die Bildverarbeitung. Zunächst in Form von Profil-Projektions-Objektiven, seit 1989 in der heutigen Form, zum Anschluss an Digitalkameras. PRODUKTSERIEN Zur erleichterten Auswahl haben wir einige unserer über 100 telezentrischen Objektive zu Serien zusammengefasst. Diese sind Ihnen schon aus unserem letzten Katalog bekannt. Sie zeichnen sich dadurch aus, dass sie innerhalb einer Gruppe über einen gleichen verfügen, eine ähnliche besitzen und so eine leichte Austauschbarkeit gewährleisten. Diese Objektive sind objektseitig telezentrisch. Innerhalb einer Gruppe sind die Objektive nach dem sortiert. Für jede Serie finden Sie auch eine Angabe über die kleinste Pixelgröße, welche für S/W-Kameras gilt und für Wellenlänge 586 nm berechnet ist. Bei einer Anwendung mit Farbkameras ergeben sich entsprechend kleinere Werte für die Pixel. Um genauere Daten über das Auflösungsvermögen der Objektive zu erhalten, sehen Sie bitte in die Datenblätter auf unserer Homepage. Auch die Verzeichnung bezieht sich auf 586 nm. KOAXIALE LICHTEINKOPPLUNG Viele unserer Objektive erhalten Sie ebenfalls mit einer koaxialen Lichteinkopplung. Die ist wie folgt aufgebaut: S5LPLxxxx für die normale Lichteinkopplung für eine Faser mit einem Durchmesser von 6 mm. S5LPLxxxx/CCS für eine Faser mit einem Durchmesser von 8 mm und S5LPLxxxx/LED für die Version mit eingebauter LED mit Wellenlänge 625 nm. Einen Dimmer, bzw. Stromkonstanter passend zu der LED finden Sie im Zubehör. BEWEGTE OPTIK Bitte beachten Sie bei der Montage in bewegten Systemen (z. B. Roboter) oder stark vibrierenden Anlagen, dass unsere Objektive für bessere Wartung im Allgemeinen nicht verklebt sind. Es ist aber jederzeit möglich alle verschraubten Bauteile zu verkleben. Bestellen Sie das entsprechende Objektiv einfach mit der Endung /VKL. In vielen Fällen ist es möglich, die Objektive nach Ihren Wünschen zu modifizieren. Es lässt sich zum Beispiel der verändern oder wir können Ihnen andere Anschlüsse montieren. Wir sind aber auch gerne bereit neue Objektive nach Ihren Vorgaben zu rechnen. For over 40 years Sill Optics has been producing telecentric lenses. First in the form of profile projection lenses and since 1989 in the current form for digital cameras. PRODUCT SERIES For an easier choice we have combined some of our over 100 telecentric lenses into series. You know these from our last catalog. These series have the same, are of similar and the lenses are easily exchangable. All lenses of these series are objectside telecentric. Within one group the lenses are sorted by. You will also find the minimum pixelsize for each series; this is valid for B/W-cameras and calculated for a wave of 586 nm. With color cameras the values change accordingly. For more information on the resolution of the lenses please see the datasheets on our homepage. The distortion is calculated for 586 nm as well. You can find a dimmer or current limiter under accessories. OPTICS IN MOTION Please make sure to order the lens in a glued version (extension /VKL), if you want to use it in vibrating systems.
