3 Vorwort des Herausgebers Vor über 20 Jahren sass ich als ratloser Zuhörer in einem Vortrag, weil während der ganzen Präsentation immer wieder Abkürzungen eingesetzt wurden, die ich nicht verstand. Gleichzeitig konnte ich nicht dauernd den Redner unterbrechen und ihn bitten, mir doch die Abkürzungen erklären. Dieser Tag war der Beginn der vorliegenden Sammlung von Abkürzungen und ich hoffe, dass sie Ihnen täglich wertvolle Dienste leistet. Author s Note It began more than twenty years ago at a presentation. I sat helpless under a deluge of abbreviations the presenter used. Naturally one couldn t ask the presenter for a translation of every abbreviation one didn t know. That led to the beginning of my collection of abbreviations in logistics which I hope you will find an invaluable help everyday.
