3 BIBA The BIBA is a scientific engineering research institute dealing with production and logistics systems. BIBA was founded in 1981 as one of the first affiliated institutes of the University of Bremen. BIBA does research, develops technical and organizational solutions and applies these in commercial and industrial companies. Staff members combine knowledge in production engineering, industrial engineering, informatics and other related academic disciplines. 3

6 Motivation Loading and unloading the aircraft is an important part of the turn-around ULDs are used in cargo processes For safety reasons, it is necessary to handle the cargo according to the loading plan Loaded cargo is checked manually Initiative of the IATA to implement AutoID Quelle: 6
