3 1. Preface Thank you for choosing our CRM Word-Interface and the corresponding Upload function. Now you have the option to easily export your CRM information into predefined Word templates and hence unify your correspondence and optimize it in terms of time. In the following pages your will find detailed instructions on installing, configuration and usage details. 3

4 2. Installation 2.1. Requirements Please create the following conditions on your CRM client Clients In order to carry out the installation error-free, administrator rights are required. To use the Upload function in the Clients, Microsoft Office Word 2007 or higher has to be installed. The Client should be situated in the same domain as the CRM server. You will receive a file which contains a 32-bit version as well as a 64-bit version. Please install the version compatible to the Microsoft Office installed on the Client, independent from your operating system. Information about your Office version can be found in the sitemap item Account in the File tab. Here click the About Word button. 4

5 2.2. Installation guidelines Client The installation must be carried out in all clients which are about to use this function. Start the installation process with the provided UploadButtonSetup.msi. Here, please confirm the Next button and subsequently define the installation parameters. Now, confirm by clicking the Next button, 5

6 and confirm it in this next window as well. Now, you can start the installation by clicking the Next button. The installation process takes only a few seconds and is finished with the Close button. Now, the installation is successfully completed. The installation of the Word Upload Button is listed as an additional program under Control panel\ all control items\programs and features. When opening a Word file, the grayed out Word Upload Button is now inserted into the ribbon. 6

7 If not so, open the Options item in the sitemap of the File tab The Add-Ins sitemap item opens the following window: Here, you can manually activate the CRM Upload Ribbon by ticking the corresponding box (see screenshot above). 7

8 3. Upload of a document to Microsoft Dynamics CRM The Word CRM Upload button allows the upload of the created documents to Microsoft Dynamics CRM. This upload is initiated manually in Microsoft Office Word Requirements Selection of the Upload method In the configuration of the individual template the user can select whether the upload should be a note, a letter or on SharePoint. Thereto, in CRM open the Word Templates entity in the Settings and open the required template and select the corresponding entry in the field Upload as. 8

9 3.2. The Word-CRM-Upload As described in point 3.1.1, the user can choose in the configuration between the upload categories note, letter or on SharePoint. This selection can be changed anytime in the respective template. The different final results are illustrated below Upload as note In the configuration, Upload as note was selected. The Word interface is carried out as described in the user manual and possibly changes the document if necessary. Then, click the Upload button. Now, the attached new note including the document is listed under notes in the initial record. 9

10 Upload as letter In the configuration, Upload as letter was selected. The Word interface is carried out as described in the user manual and possibly changes the document if necessary. Then, click the Upload button. A letter was generated in the corresponding record in Microsoft Dynamics CRM. The document is attached to the letter as note. You may now add individual information about the letter in the activity. 10

11 Upload as Sharepoint In the configuration, Upload as SharePoint was selected. A precondition for this is the appropriate set up of your CRM. The Word interface is carried out as described in the user manual and possibly changes the document if necessary. Then, click the Upload button. The document is saved to the Documents entity in the respective record in Microsoft Dynamics CRM. 11
