Es werden während der Installation mehrere Neustarts durchgeführt, sichern sie daher bitte ihre Daten und schließen alle offenen Anwendungen bevor sie beginnen! 2 Download und Installation Laden sie die aktuelle Version des AFS-Clients unter folgender Adresse herunter: für Mitarbeiter: für Studierende: Führen Sie die Datei aus. Wenn bereits ein AFS-Client auf ihrem System installiert ist, werden Sie gefragt ob dieser deinstalliert werden soll. Bestätigen Sie mit Ja und ein CMD-Fenster öffnet sich. Lesen Sie den Text sorgfältig durch und bestätigen sie mit y. Dies ist vor einer Neuinstallation zwingend erforderlich. Der Vorgang kann je nach Geschwindigkeit des Computers etwas Zeit in Anspruch nehmen, schließen Sie so lange auf keinen Fall das Fenster. Am Ende der Deinstallation wird automatisch ein Neustart durchgeführt. Nach dem Neustart, oder wenn noch kein AFS-Client installiert war direkt nach dem Ausführen der Setup-Datei, startet automatisch die Installation des neuen Clients. Diese läuft automatisch ab und Sie werden zum Abschluss dazu aufgefordert den PC ein weiteres Mal neu zu starten. Nach diesem Neustart wird ihnen eine Nachricht angezeigt, dass die Installation erfolgreich abgeschlossen wurde. Der Network Identity Manager startet nach der Installation automatisch und wird Sie zur Eingabe Ihres Nutzernamens auffordern. Standardmäßig ist hier beim ersten Start der Windows-Benutzername ihres Computers eingetragen, ersetzen sie diesen bitte durch ihren Hohenheimer Benutzernamen. Klicken sie mehrfach auf Next bis Sie zur Eingabe ihres Passworts aufgefordert werden. Nach dessen Eingabe klicken sie auf Finish und die Verbindung wird aufgebaut. Bei späteren Starts ist nur die Eingabe des Passworts erforderlich. 1

3 Einbinden von Verzeichnissen als Netzlaufwerk Öffnen Sie ihren Windows-Explorer und klicken Sie auf Computer (Win 7) bzw. Dieser PC (Win 8/10). Anschließend klicken Sie auf Netzlaufwerk verbinden. 2 1 Im nächsten Fenster können Sie den Netzwerkpfad ihres AFS-Homeverzeichnisses oder Projekt- Verzeichnisses eintragen. Klicken Sie zum Abschluss auf Fertig stellen. Das neu eingerichtete Netzlaufwerk finden sie im Explorer im Bereich Netzwerkadressen unterhalb der PC-eigenen Partitionen. Beispiele für die Einrichtung finden Sie im Anschluß

5 Download and installation Download the latest version of the AFS client from the following address: for staff: for students: Execute the file. If an AFS client is already installed on your system, you will be asked if you want to uninstall it. Confirm with Yes, after which a CMD window will open. Read the text carefully and confirm with y. This is mandatory before a new installation can occur. The process can take some time, depending on the speed of your computer. Do not close the window during this time. After uninstalling, your computer will reboot automatically. Once it has rebooted, or right after executing the setup file if no previous AFS client was found, the installation of the new client will begin automatically. It will proceed automatically, and when it is finished you will be prompted to reboot the computer again. Once it has rebooted, you will see a message stating that the installation was successful. After the installation, the Network Identity Manager will launch automatically and prompt you to enter your username. Your computer s Windows username is entered by default - please replace it with your Hohenheim username. Click Next several times until you are prompted to enter your password. After entering it, click Finish to establish the connection. In future, you will only need to enter your password. 4

6 Mapping directories and network drives Open your Windows Explorer and click Computer (Win 7) or This PC (Win 8/10). Then click Map Network Drive In the next window, you can specify the network path for your AFS home directory or project directory. Once you have done so, click Finish. In Explorer, you can find the new network drive in Network, below your PC s own partitions. Examples for configuration are included at the end
