5 1. 1 Start Screen From the start display you can access all features of the device. Here you can find the link to the POS software as well as a link to the POS settings. 5

6 1.2 Introduction Adjust the settings of the system and applications to suit your personal needs. Based on the configuration of the cash register as well as the already available presetting you will be able to personalize your purchased device. With the installed security system and the simple instructions, the device is going to be a great help in your business. 1.3 Log in / Log out With the quick registration and the already installed password "admin" you get with the white button to the "sales mask and with the red button to the main menu "Commander". 2. Quick Start After the registration with your password (the programmed standard password with the delivery of the cash register is "admin" - lowercased) you get into the BlitzKasse main menu where you have the possibility to book your products and print out the Receipt only with the help of couple of buttons. With the quick access to the sample product groups, which have a different color, you are able to book the required items from each category on the Receipt. To do that, point out the required commodity group. On the display you can see the items which are already stored in this group. Afterwards select the item you need and it will be immediately displayed on the left (top) side on the Receipt window. If you want to multiple identical items to be booked on the Receipt immediately, select the required number on the right side on the numeric keyboard and only then point out the article you want. With the selection of the required number, the articles are going to be booked and the Receipt can be printed as well. 6

8 To print out the Receipt and to book the money given by a client, select the button "RECEIPT". If the customer pays the Receipt without change, you can press the "OK" button immediately to print out the Receipt. However, if the customer needs the change money, select the appropriate button "CASH". You are going to see a numeric keypad, which allows you to type in the given amount of money. Afterwards select the "OK" button and the Receipt is released. The necessary change for the client can be seen on the Receipt. 8

9 3.1 Quick Start Position-Cancellation To delete an item from the booking list, click on the required location on the Receipt. The selected item is now highlighted. With the help of the button "position cancelation" the selected item on the Receipt will be deleted. 3.2 Discount accounting With your personal settings of the cash desk in the main system "Commander", the maximum discount rate can be determined for each salesperson as well as for each individual product. In this case, the discount rate can be selected for each individual client. In the sales mask discount rates can only be charged, but all the settings concerning the discount information must be stored in the main menu "COMANDER" in advance. With the selection of the article and the button "OFF" you will return to the menu where you have the possibility to post the required discount. The discount rate will be accounted in per cent or in Euro value (can be different currencies). With the button "OK" the discount rate will be accounted for the product and will be immediately withdrawn from the article. 9

10 3.3 Receipt Receipt printing The button "RECEIPT" opens up the menu, where you can select the needed payment features of your clients. You can choose between the "EC-payment" or "cash payment". To define the delivery address as well as the pick-up address of your client, you can choose from the available functions in this menu. In this menu you can press the button Customer and search for them by entering the name, card number or customer number of your clients and assign a personal discount rate to your customers as well. The customer s delivery address will then appear automatically with all other data on your desktop. To book the required items as well as the money received and to print out the Receipt, click in the button CASH" and a keyboard, which allows you to type in the cash received, appears right in front of you. With the "OK" button the Receipt is going to be printed out immediately. The required change for the customer can be found on the Receipt too. In this field you can also select the required information such as delivery address or any other features which are going to appear later on the Receipt or will be printed 10

11 with the sales receipt. The requested items are then marked with a small cross on the screen. 3.4 PLU/EAN Articles sold via the preprogrammed PLU / EAN number The PLU / EAN search function is intended for a quick access to the article database. The "PLU / EAN" button opens the menu where you can enter the customer s PLU and EAN number. These customized numbers are determined by personal settings during pre-programming the cash register in the main menu "Commander". By entering the PLU or EAN number and the button "OK" or with the help of a cashcode scanner, you can find the required items and book them directly on the Receipt. This function is for employees with many years of experience who are generally used to work with the PLU / EAN numbers, which is simple to use. 11

12 3.5 Last Receipt Last Receipt printing With the button "LAST RECEIPT" the previous invoices are displayed and can be printed again. 4. Menu Functions 4.1 Customers Customers With the button "Customer" in the main menu functions, you can register new customers or select already existing customers from the list to maintain their data. The button "Create New Customer" opens up a new screen window where you can save all private information of your new customer. This way customer s private 12

13 information such as name, date of birth, address or customer number can be stored safely. In addition customer s discount rates can be defined in this area as well. To find the required customer quickly, open the function "select customer by entering the name or the customer s number into the appropriate space. In addition, customer s data may be deleted or changed. In this window Information such as costumer s discount can be found as well. 13

14 4.2 Receipt/ Purchase parking While pressing the button "parking in the menu "Functions", articles which have already been booked on the Receipt and are displayed on a list on the left side, you can switch from "Instant Sale" to "Receipt parking" with this function and book each article to its own parking place. In this list you can see all prerecorded Receipt parking / booking seats. The term "Receipt parking" can always be changed to any other name, e.g. chairs, tables, numbers, customer s names or account numbers etc. These settings can be set up in the main menu "Commander" while pre-programming the cash desk. 14

15 If the products are booked to one of the Receipt parking seats, these seats can be found later on the list. The chosen Receipt parking location in the main menu on which one has already posted the article, is now going to be displayed in red color. The booked items will be listed on the left side 15

16 The feature "Parking" and the button Saldo located on the bottom right corner also enable you to print out the booked items separately. This helpful feature can be used for monitoring the delivery of goods, as well as in smaller snack cafes, restaurants, mobile delivery services, hair salons and more. There are no boundaries in the way how you should use this useful function of the POS system. 4.3 User X-Report With the function "User X-Report" from the menu "Features" allow you to see the cash revenue of each waiter in a certain period of time and to print it out. This function serves as a guide for the daily overview of your business. Furthermore the total turnover, tax and payment methods (cash-payment or credit card payment) can be seen as well. In addition information such as number of meals sold, cash deposit and withdrawal can be determined. 16

17 4.4 Total X-Report With the "X-Report" from the menu "Features", the entire cash revenue of each day can be seen and printed out. This way the total turnover, tax and payment methods (credit card-payment or cash payment) can be found as well. 4.5 Receipt Cancellation / Search While using the button "Receipt Search / Cancel" from the menu "Features" you can find all already booked Receipts and cancel them. Therefore tap on the provided field "Receipt number" and type in the receipt number to be canceled and the date of this receipt. The booked item will appear to the left on the monitor. With the button "Receipt cancellation" you can cancel the highlighted Receipt. However the booked data will always remain in the system for security measures. 17

18 4.6 Cash in / Cash out Moreover the functions "Cash in" or "Cash out" from the main menu "Features" allow you to book the money which has already been taken out from the cash register or which you want to put in the cash register. Therefore type in the provided field "Enter deposit amount!" / "Enter withdrawal amount" the required monetary amount by using the numeric keypad and confirm with the button "OK". The amount is then immediately saved in the system. 18

20 4.7 System Information The button "System Info" from the menu "Features" allows you to read all the information on the system type installed on your cash register. 20

21 5. COMMANDER 5.1Getting Started In the main menu "Commander" you can set up all personal information before your first usage and change it any time you want. Company Information The button "Company information" opens a new window where you can edit your personal business information. You can set up data such as company s name, address and phone number. This information will be displayed on your Receipt and on other printouts and printed out later on. 21

22 5.2 Hardware Management With the button "Hardware Manager" from the main menu "Commander" a new window is displayed. Thereby you can find the IP address of to the printers which have already been installed and attached before. You can connect up to a maximum number of two printers to the cash register. The relevant IP address are recognized by the system and extracted from the network. Printer for Receipt settings: You can put your setting to the proof with the button "TEST". At the same time more detailed information about your printer can be stored via the input fields "characters per line" and "number of spacing". 22

23 Information such as "characters per line" or "number distance" can be found at the device manual of your Receipt-printer. Additionally you can also define information such as IP address and port number, which will appear later on the printed receipt. These settings can be checked up with the button "TEST". Furthermore, you can define the greeting text for your clients and edit it in this field. 5.3 Product category adjustment The button "product category" from the main menu "Office" opens up the window for managing your product groups. The already stored product categories are displayed. To create a new category, click on the button "NEW PRODUCT CLASS". This button will open up a new page, where you can determine and store the name, order and the color of the product category. To edit an already existing category and to change the data, mark the required group. This is now highlighted in a different color. The button "DEPARTMENT CHANGE" opens up a new window can be where all the information of a particular group is displayed and can be changed. Important, when deleting any product category all products in this group are going to permanently deleted. 23

25 5.4 Commodity adjustment The button "article" from the menu "Office" gives you the possibility to see and change all of your stored article groups with their current products. For this select the category of required goods from the list on the left side. Immediately all products of this category will be listed on the right side. To edit information to the products, select the button "CHANGE ITEM". This button will open up an additional window, where all information such as Name, description, storage room, space and item price, discount and stock of the article selected can be seen or changed. With the button "SAVE" all changes in the system will be saved. To delete an article from the category, click on the required category and the relevant article. This product will be displayed in a different color. With the button "ARTICLE CLEAR" you can immediately remove the chosen article permanently. To create a new article for a particular category, select the button "NEW PRODUCT". You will see a new blank form, where you can add the item description. Information on storage space, as well as price and stock can be determined. The matching PLU and EAN number are automatically assigned to each article and saved in the system. 25

28 The "PLU / EAN" button opens up a new, blank field where you can enter the "PLU / EAN. By typing in one of these numbers you can search in a few seconds for the corresponding item from your database. All Information on this article will be displayed in a separate window. 28

29 With the button "VARIOUS ARTICLES" You can edit and personalize the default text for your various articles. This text will appear later on the "Cashier" menu under the menu various articles. 5.5 Z-Report The function Z-Report in the menu "Office" gives you the possibility to consult the cash balance at the end of the day. At this point all sales made are displayed with the corresponding revenue. You can also see how high the revenues from cashpayments are as well as credit card payment. In addition, you have the option to see the number of money withdrawals and cash deposits for the day. This and other information are important for your daily business and accounting. 29

30 The other useful function "Z Report" from the menu "OFFICE" allows you to access all of your daily Z-Report from several days. These are sorted by date and time. You can access some older lists and open up them individually as well. 5.6 Reset Database To reset your database permanently, click on the corresponding button "RESET DATABASE" on your tablet. Also you need to delete the whole information from your server on the computer as well. To do that, select the "RESET DATABASE button. In this case all your articles, product categories and user data will be deleted permanently. 30

31 5.7 Preparations for the initial commissioning If the POS system has already been used e.g. as a learning function for your workers and you want to prepare the cash register for an initial operation, you have to select the button "INICIAL COMMISSIONING". Additionally, press the key "INICIAL COMMISSIONING" on your server. Both functions must be performed. In this case all Receipts, information of goods sold and Z-Reports will be deleted from the database. In this case the numbering is set back to zero too. The stored product categories and items, as well as the tax rates will remain in the system. This feature allows you to prepare the entire database for the initial commissioning. 5.8 Program set up In the menu "COMANDER" the corresponding function "PROGRAM SET UP" gives you the possibility to personalize your program settings. In the new window you can switch on and off many functions, therefore a small checkmark will appear in the appropriate field. There is a possibility to select and personalize functions such as the transition to a one-man operation, display the inventory in the menu "Cashier" and 31

32 additional information too. To save the appearance and changes, select the "OK" button. If the settings have been changed and saved, the system requires a shout down and a reboot! By changing the settings in this window, the settings in the main menu "Cashier" will be changed as well. 32

33 5.9 Employee profiles The function "EMPLOYEE FROFILES" allows you to take care of all information on your employees. In the new window you can see the information on the already saved employees. In order to view and edit information for these employees, select the required name and press the button CHANGE USER ". In the new window you have the possibility to change details such as username and password. In addition you can set up the rate of the maximum discount the employees allow to give its customers for the sale. You can also define and control any permission for each individual employee. 33

34 Among other things, you can place the new folder for your employees in this menu. In order to do this, select the button "NEW USER". In the new, blank folder you can define all personal information of your employees. 34

35 6.1 Tax and Payment In the menu "TAX RATES", the amount of tax needed for your products can be defined and modified. You can choose among the available tax rates, for example, the legal tax rates in Germany equal to 7% or 19%. IMPORTANT! : When creating new articles, the related, legally disposed VAT rate must be determined and stored for each individual product. If your products are sold in house and at the same time out of house, the system automatically recognizes the appropriate rate of taxation for the product. In order to achieve this, you have merely to select the relevant key in menu "RECEIPT". 35

36 Certain goods and services are subjected to a reduced tax rate. According to 12 paragraph 2 UStG it is currently 7%. Such supplies and services, which are subjected to the reduced rate, are: - Groceries - Books and Newspapers - Art objects - Hotel accommodations (new since ) A distinction is made between drinks, which are generally taxed at 19% VAT rate. Exceptions there for are water and milk. In the catering industry however, the food taken To Go and also new from the hotel accommodation are subjected to a reduced VAT rate of 7%. If you are not sure on the suitable tax rate, immediately contact your local tax office or tax adviser. There you can find all important information on the VAT for your business. 36

37 6.2 RECEIPT Parking Placement The function "PARKING / TABLES" out of the menu "COMANDER" allows you to define, modify or delete your Receipt parking places. You can select any type of name for each of the individual parking tables. To do this, select the required Receipt parking table and press the button "PARKING / DESK CHANGE". In order to increase your options and set up new receipt parking places, press the corresponding button "NEW PARKING / TABLE". Here you can define the name and number of the table. 37

39 6.3 License With the button "LICENSE" you can open up a new window and type in the blank field your license activation code as well as save it. 6.4 Reports The function "Reports" out of the "COMANDER" menu gives you the possibility to provide the level of your inventory. The button "ARTICLE INVENTORY" opens another window where you can view precise details of the articles inventory of your store. 6.5 Personal Management In this menu, you have the opportunity to maintain your customer s database. The list of already saved customer is displayed. In the blank space "Customer ID" provided you can use the customer number or name to find all information regarding your clients. With the "NEW CUSTOMERS HINFÜGEN" button it is possible to create new customer cards. Here you can specify any details such as name, address, date of birth as well as the customer s ID and save them. To change the data of a customer, select the customer s name and press the button "CUSTOMER CHANGE". Here you can also expand, change and save the information. With the button "CLIENT DELETE" and their name, you can delete all information about that specific customer 39
