Wo die Erfolgsstory ihren Anfang nahm Where the Story of Success first began Das Haus Nr. 5 in Kaltenbach im Tiroler Zillertal war seit 200 Jahren eine Schmiede, die von der Familie EMPL angekauft wurde. Im Jahr 1940 übernahm sie Hr. Empl Josef sen. und fertigte dort bis Kriegsende hauptsächlich landwirtschaftliche Fahrzeuge. 1964 begann man mit der Produktion von LKW-Aufbauten und spezialisierte sich mehr und mehr auf maßgeschneiderte Sonderfertigungen und Komplettausstattungen für Fuhrparks. Mit dem Kauf eines großen Grundstückes im neuen Gewerbegebiet südlich von Kaltenbach begann 1978 ein kontinuierliches Wachstum. 1992 erfolgte der Kauf eines Betriebes in Klöden (Deutschland). Um einen idealen Servicestandort für alle Kunden zu schaffen, erbaute man 1997 ein neues Reparaturwerk in Hall. 2001 entstand eine neue Produktionshalle in Kaltenbach, die durch ihre Ausstattung mit den modernsten EDV-gesteuerten Anlagen eine weitere Optimierung des hohen EMPL-Qualitätsstandards garantiert. Gleichzeitig erfolgte in Deutschland (Elster) der Spatenstich für eine neue Fertigungshalle mit Verwaltungskomplex, die Anfang 2002 in Betrieb genommen wurde. 2003 erwarb EMPL von der Gemeinde Kaltenbach ein weiteres 12.000 m 2 großes Grundstück, auf dem in naher Zukunft ein Kompetenzzentrum samt F&E-Abteilung entstehen wird. Die Inbetriebnahme neuer Hightech-Schweißroboter im Jahre 2004 sorgte dafür, dass EMPL seinen Mitbewerbern auch weiterhin einen Schritt voraus bleibt. In 2001 a new production hall was put into operation, where the very latest computer-controlled production systems guarantee that the already high EMPL quality standard will be set even higher. At the same time, the foundation stone was laid for a new manufacturing hall with a management complex in Germany (Elster), which went into operation in early 2002. 2003 EMPL bought a further property of 12.000 m 2 in Kaltenbach, where a new R&D-Centre will be built in near future. Furthermore, new welding robots were put into operation in 2004 to guarantee that EMPL will be one step ahead of its competitors also in future.
