What is IBM Data Set Commander V8.1 for z/os? Data Set Commander (DSC) is a tool package that provides enhanced productivity and automated functionality to z/os based data set operations. Formerly known as IBM ISPF Productivity Tool for z/os SPIFFY ( Acquired Isogon 2005) Consists of four features: The Interactive component is an integrated front end to ISPF. It enhances ISPF functions, including browse, edit, TSO shell, and DSLIST, and provides many additional capabilities The Batch component is a fully compatible utility replacement for IEBCOPY, with significantly enhanced functionality for managing and manipulating PDS and PDSE data sets. The Monitor component provides a fully automated facility for managing the caching of PDS and PDSE members in the LLA and VLF regions. The SMF filtering feature to filter SMF records of irrelevant data sets 20
