SONAS Backup Design Snapshot Default snapshot settings (frequency and retention) per file system Each share is defined as independent file set and may optionally have an additional, individual file set snapshot frequency and retention period
Scope The initial scope is surrounded by the grey cloud symbol. It includes user interaction with the portal and integration with SONAS (via TPC). Later extensions of the storage are: Maintenance of a service catalog Server Ordering Archival Storage TSM Backup ETH considers to extend the portal beyond storage provisioning functions and therefore the SCSA product may be extended with more complex SCO product functions
Business Use Case (BUC05) ID Name Short Description Primary Actor Other Actors Preconditions BUC05 Provision a share An existing share will be extended or shrinked in capacity; Dept Admin Dept ISG The share exists [BUC02]; A storage class is assigned [BUC04]; A request from a Dept User exists [BUC08]; Enough storage allocatable (SONAS/TPC) Postconditions Result (blue sky) Standard work flow TUAM capacity reporting reflects the capacity change; Changed capacity as an input for capacity planning; Notification (email) to the actor and requestor capacity changed ; The available storage capacity for the share has changed. Login to the portal; select share to change; change the capacity; Receive a notification; Logout;
