5 David and Red are going on holiday. David is packing his suitcase. He packs some T-shirts and some shorts. He packs shoes and sandals. He packs seven underpants and seven pairs of socks for the seven days of his holiday. David and Red are going to Spain. 10 David thinks of the beach in Spain. Sun, sand and sea! Perfect! David finishes packing. He knocks on Red s door. Hello, Red, can I come in? 2 suitcase: Koffer Spain: Spanien think: denken finish: beenden knock: klopfen
15 Yes! Red says. David goes into Red s room. Are you ready? he asks. Yes! says Red. Red is ready! David looks at Red s suitcase. It s full of plastic buckets. There are big buckets and small buckets, green buckets and blue buckets. Buckets in all shapes and sizes. But there are no clothes, no books, no toothpaste. Just buckets and toys. 5 Red, why do you need so many buckets? David asks. Sandcastle! says Red. But Red, where are your clothes? And where is your toothbrush? Where is your toothpaste? David asks. Red goes into the bathroom and takes his toothbrush. Here! he says. 10 Red throws his toothbrush into the suitcase. Red is ready! he says and runs out of the room. Airport! Airport! 15 David and Red are sitting in the train. They re going to the airport. Outside the sky is grey. David looks at the grey sky and thinks of the beach in Spain. Sun, sand and sea! Perfect! Red, what do you want to do on holiday? David asks. Sandcastle! says Red. 20 Good idea! says David. I love building sandcastles! Big sandcastle! says Red. The biggest sandcastle in the world! outside: draußen sky: Himmel build: bauen 5
5 David and Red arrive at the airport. The airport is very big. David doesn t know where to go. He asks a woman at the information desk for directions: Excuse me! Where is Gate 89, please? Go straight ahead through the terminal, then turn left at the coffee shop and turn right at the book shop, the woman tells him. Thank you, David says. Have a nice day! 10 David and Red follow the woman s directions. They go straight ahead through the terminal and come to the coffee shop. Then Red sees something. 6 arrive: ankommen ask for directions: nach dem Weg fragen Excuse me!: Entschuldigung! through: durch follow: folgen
15 Stop! says Red. Look! Beach! Red points out of the window. Outside is a building site. There is a digger and a crane and lots of men wearing yellow hats. And there s a big pile of sand. A very big pile of sand! That s not a beach! David says. That s a building site. 20 Come on, Red, we re going to be late! David says. Now what did the woman say? Turn left at the book shop? 5 David and Red are lost. They can t find Gate 89. David asks a pilot for directions: Excuse me! Where is Gate 89, please? The pilot points in the other direction. Just go straight ahead to the chocolate shop, turn right at the chocolate shop, then turn left at the music shop, he says. Easy! 10 Sandcastle! Sandcastle! says Red and points out of the window. Beach! Beach! David shakes his head. No, Red, that s not a beach! That s a building site. Come on! We re going to be late! 8 lost: verloren other: andere easy: leicht shake: schütteln
15 David finds Gate 89. Good morning! says the stewardess. Are you going on holiday? Yes, says David. To Spain! David looks outside. The sky is grey. David thinks of the beach in Spain. Sun, sand and sea! Perfect! We re going to build a sandcastle! he tells the stewardess. 20 We? the stewardess says. Yes, David says. Red and I. Red? The stewardess doesn t understand. Who is Red? 5 Red?! Red?! Where are you, Red? calls David. David looks for Red in the airport. He looks in the chocolate shop. He looks in the music shop. He looks in the clothes shop. But he can t find Red anywhere. Red?! Where are you?! David sees a policeman standing outside the book shop. 10 look for: suchen not anywhere: nirgendwo
10 Excuse me! Can you help me, please? David asks. I m looking for my friend, Red. What does he look like? the policeman asks. David shows the policeman Red s passport. There is a photo of Red in Red s passport. The photo looks like this: 15 I haven t seen him, the policeman says. There s an information desk at the end of the hall on the right. Go and ask them. 5 David goes to the information desk. Excuse me! Can you help me find my friend? David asks. What s his name? the woman asks. His name is Red, says David. 10 The woman talks into the microphone. Will Red please come to the information desk! she says. Her voice is very loud. I repeat: will Red please come to the information desk! Your friend David is looking for you. 12 voice: Stimme repeat: wiederholen
15 A builder in a yellow hat and yellow overalls comes over to the information desk. Are you looking for a little red sock? he asks. Yes, David says. Where is he? Come with me, says the builder. 20 David follows the builder. They go straight ahead through the terminal and turn right at the coffee shop. The builder points to the building site outside. There he is, he says. builder: Bauarbeiter 13
5 David looks out of the window. Outside, in the middle of the building site, is a sandcastle. A very big sandcastle. The biggest sandcastle David has ever seen! And standing on top of the sandcastle is Red. Sandcastle! says Red. Holiday! 10 Wow! says David. That s the biggest sandcastle in the world! Red jumps down from the sandcastle and runs past David. 15 David and Red are sitting in the airplane. They re flying to Spain. David looks out of the window. It s raining outside. David looks at the rain and thinks of the beach in Spain. Sun, sand and sea! Perfect! 20 Red, what do you want to do on holiday? David asks Red. Red looks out of the window and thinks for a moment. Then he says, Build a sandplane! Ein Schüler beginnt mit einem Wort, der nächste wiederholt es und fügt ein neues Kleidungsstück hinzu. 2. Die Geschichte vorbereiten Die Lehrkraft spielt Track 3 von der CD. Die Schüler erraten die Geräusche: train, plane, boat. Die Lehrkraft zeichnet ein Flugzeug und einen Zug an die Tafel und fragt die Schüler, wer von ihnen bereits geflogen oder mit dem Zug gefahren ist und wohin: Who has been on a plane / train before? Where did you go by plane / train? 3. Die Geschichte vorlesen Die Lehrkraft erzählt, dass David mit Red in den Urlaub fahren möchte. Im Sitzkreis wird das Cover der Lektüre besprochen. Dabei stellen die Schüler Vermutungen an, wohin die Reise geht und was beide einpacken werden. Die Lehrkraft liest nun S. 1 4 vor und stellt Verständnisfragen im Anschluss: L: What s in David s suitcase? S: T-shirts, shorts, shoes, sandals, underpants, socks. L: What does Red pack? Übungen zur Geschichte Aufgabe 1 und 2 von KV 1 werden zur Wiederholung des Wortschatzes clothes bearbeitet. Bei Aufgabe 2 malen die Schüler zunächst Kleidung und Gegenstände, schreiben anschließend mit Hilfe eines Bildwörterbuches Sätze und tragen diese ihrem Partner vor. Wortschatz directions einführen Stunde 2 Als Vorbereitung der Geschichte fordert die Lehrkraft die Schüler im Sitzkreis auf, den linken bzw. rechten Arm in den Kreis zu halten. Anschließend werden im Stehen die Richtungen turn left, turn right und go straight ahead geübt. L: Put your left / right arm in. L: Stand up. Turn left / turn right. / Go straight ahead. Ein Schüler geht vor die Tür, die Lehrkraft versteckt währenddessen einen Gegenstand oder eine Puppe im Klassenraum. Die Schüler geben nun mit Hilfe der Lehrkraft dem Schüler Anweisungen und Hilfestellung. S: Turn left / go straight ahead / turn right. Warmer / colder / hot. An dieser Stelle können ebenfalls die Präpositionen wiederholt werden. Ein Schüler fragt: Is it in / on / behind the cupboard? 2. Die Geschichte fortsetzen 2013 Cornelsen Schulverlage GmbH, Berlin Die Lehrkraft fragt die Schüler nach ihren Ideen zum Fortgang der Geschichte und liest anschließend das Ende der Geschichte vor. Red s crazy holiday Klasse 4 Extraaktivität: Role play KV 3 Material: Einige Plastikeimer, unterschiedliche Kleidung (T-Shirt, kurze Hose, Schuhe, Sandalen, Unterhosen, Socken), Zahnbürste und -pasta Die Lehrkraft verteilt die Rollen an die Schüler. In einem ersten Durchgang können Schüler ohne Rollen Statistenrollen wie Passagiere oder Bauarbeiter übernehmen. Ggf. werden die Rollen doppelt verteilt. Die Lehrkraft verteilt nun die Rollenstreifen von KV 3. In Einzeloder Partnerarbeit lernen die Schüler ihre Rollen. Zum Aufführen des Rollenspiels werden die Requisiten verteilt.
