Gesellschaft für Bildung und Forschung in Europa Die Gesellschaft für Bildung und Forschung in Europa (GBFE e.v.) ist ein international und interkulturell ausgerichtetes Netzwerk von christlichen Bildungseinrichtungen. Network for Education and Research in Europe 2 GBFE fördert internationale Studien und Forschungsvorhaben in verschiedenen Disziplinen auf Master- und Doktoranden-Ebene. Sie kooperiert mit anderen internationalen Bildungseinrichtungen. Studierende werden durch eine tutoriale Betreuung und in Verwaltungsangelegenheiten vor Ort unterstützt. GBFE will Männer und Frauen fördern und ihnen eine fundierte akademische Ausbildung ermöglichen, die auf biblisch-christlichen Werten gegründet ist. GBFE berät Studierende bei der Wahl des Studienweges und der Forschungsvorhaben, bereitet sie auf ein Studium an der University of South Africa vor und begleitet Sie während der Ausbildung. Dazu organisiert sie regelmäßige Master- und Doktoranden-Wochen in Europa für alle Studierenden. The Network for Education and Research in Europe GBFE (a registered association ) is an acclaimed international and intercultural network of Christian educational institutions. GBFE promotes international studies and research projects in various disciplines at a postgraduate level. It cooperates with other international educational institutions. Students are given tutorial support and administrative assistance in their home country. GBFE aims to challenge and develop men and women by offering a well-founded academic education, based on biblical and Christian principles. GBFE advises students on their choice of study and research projects, preparing them for Masters or Doctoral studies at the University of South Africa. It organises regular Masters and Doctoral students weeks (M&D week) in Europe for all European students.

Der GBFE-Rat entscheidet insbesondere über die strategische Entwicklung der GBFE und akademische Angelegenheiten. Dazu gehören die Curricula der GBFE und ihrer Institute, Aufnahme neuer Programme und Institute, sowie Etablierung und Überwachung von Qualitätskriterien. Der GBFE-Rat trifft sich mindestens zweimal jährlich. Der GBFE-Vorstand führt die Geschäfte im Auftrag und im Sinne der Policy des GBFE-Netzwerkes. The GBFE network is directed by the GBFE College Management Committee. Each college (with full membership) delegates a representative to the College Management Committee. In addition, staff members with leading functions also belong to the College Management Committee. The GBFE College Management Committee makes decisions, in particular, in the strategic development of GBFE and in academic affairs. This includes the curricula of GBFE and its colleges, the admission of new programmes and colleges, as well as the establishment and monitoring of quality criteria. The GBFE College Management Committee meets at least twice a year. The GBFE Executive Board manages the ongoing business on behalf of, and in terms of the policy of the GBFE network. Theologisches Grundlagenprogramm für Nicht-Theologen Sie sind Akademiker und wollen sich theologisch fortbilden? Das theologische Grundlagenprogramm vermittelt einen allgemeinen Überblick über die Hauptbereiche der Theologie und vertieft diesen an einigen Stellen beispielhaft. Es handelt sich um eine Art theologischen Crashkurs mit Tiefenbohrungen. Das Konzept Das theologische Grundlagenprogramm ist ein betreutes Leseprogramm, das durch drei Workshops von je zwei bis drei Tagen unterstützt wird. Dabei wird vorausgesetzt, dass die Studierenden sich eigenständig schwere Texte erarbeiten und akademische Arbeiten verfassen können. Das Programm umfasst 20 Credits und besteht aus vier Kursen Altes Testament, Neues Testament, Systematische Theologie und Praktische Theologie. Theological Foundations Programme for Non-Theologians Are you a university graduate and interested in further theological studies? The theological foundations programme provides a general overview of the main areas of theology and goes into greater depth in certain aspects by way of example. It resembles a theological crash course, but with some in depth explorations. The Concept The theological foundations programme is a guided reading programme supported by three workshops, each of 2 3 days duration. Students are expected to independently explore difficult texts and compose academic papers. The programme provides 20 credits and comprises four courses Old Testament, New Testament, Systematic Theology, and Practical Theology. Dates and Costs The courses take place in a yearly cycle. You can view the current course dates on the GBFE website. The costs constitute 75 per credit, totalling 1,500 for all 20 credits. In order to support married couples who wish to study together, a discount of 50% of the fees is offered to one partner. Opportunities for Further Study Unisa follows the Anglo-Saxon system, which is open to students of other academic disciplines, provided they have additional theological qualifications. The GBFE colleges offer a range of bridging programmes on an Honours-Equivalent level. Upon successful completion students can apply for enrolment at Unisa for a Master s Degree course. Aufgabe und Zweck der GBFE ist es, den GBFE Studierenden eine fundierte akademische postgraduierte Ausbildung zu ermöglichen. Zur Förderung von Forschungsprojekten können Stipendien beantragt werden. Die GBFE finanziert sich vor allem aus Mitgliedsbeiträgen und Studiengebühren. Für etwa ein Drittel des Etats sind wir auf Spenden von Freunden und Partnern, von Unterstützern und Sponsoren angewiesen, denen ein solches Bildungsangebot durch die GBFE wichtig ist. Auch eine Fördermitgliedschaft ist möglich. Für jede Unterstützung unserer Arbeit sind wir sehr dankbar. Die GBFE verfolgt ausschließlich und unmittelbar wissenschaftliche Zwecke. Master of Arts Development Studies Das Studienprogramm Development Studies & Transformation befähigt zur Arbeit in Entwicklungsprojekten, interkulturellen Arbeiten sowie an der Schnittstelle zwischen Hilfsorganisationen und christlichen Gemeinden. Es ergänzt damit eine Ausbildung in anderen Bereichen wie Medizin, Pädagogik, Technologie usw. Neben dem Praxisbezug wird besonderer Wert auf die Förderung vorhandener Initiativen für eine nachhaltige Entwicklung, die Zusammenarbeit mit anderen Akteuren und die theologische Reflexion gelegt. Studienprogramm Das berufsbegleitende Studienprogramm besteht aus zehn Modulen, die in der Regel in zwei bis vier Jahren absolviert werden. Master of Arts Development Studies The course Development Studies & Transformation teaches knowledge and skills needed for professionals working in development projects, intercultural ministry and at the interface between aid organisations and Christian churches. It builds on previous training in other fields, e.g. health, teaching, or technical professions. The course has an emphasis on practice and a focus on strengthening existing initiatives for sustainable development, enabling cooperation with other actors. It also encourages theological reflection of development and transformation. Study Programme The part-time programme is broken down into 10 modules which are usually covered in two to four years. Each module consists of one week of classes in Marburg, plus preparation work and a course paper. Throughout the course students are linked to a development project which also provides the background for the master thesis. After completing the modules, the students register at the University of South Africa (Unisa) for their master thesis. Applicants are required to be fluent in English and German and should have previous experience in intercultural ministry. Degree Successful students will be awarded the degree Master of Arts in Development Studies by the University of South Africa (Unisa).
