2 Philharmonie der Following the success of the Animato Orchestra Academy and their subsequent Concert Tours in 2006, 2008, 2010 and 2012, the Animato Foundation would like to invite talented and interested music students to the Animato Orchestra Academy Animato Orchestra Academy 2014 A selection of music students will form the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Animato Foundation 2014, which will be organised by the Animato Foundation and is in cooperation with our partner universities and music Academies. Under the lead of Artistic Director and Conductor Thierry Fischer and with the support of qualified instrument coaches from well-known philharmonic orchestras, the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Animato Foundation 2014 will rehearse the concert programme intensively during the course of the Animato Orchestra Academy. Where: Schlosshotel Zeillern, Zeillern, Austria When: Expenses: The Animato Foundation will cover the expenses for board, lodging and travel for participants to both the Animato Orchestra Academy and the Concert Tour Admission Conditions 1. You are of legal age 2. You are in the final phase of your academic music education 3. You have practical experience playing in a philharmonic orchestra before an audience 4. You have good communication skills in English 5. You have no time constraints, are adaptable and have team spirit

3 Application and Selection Procedure Students eligible for the Animato Academy and Concert Tour 2014 are primarily chosen from our partner universities and music academies listed below. However, it is also possible for students, who fulfil the previously mentioned conditions of admission, to apply independently. 6 Our Conductor Konzerttournee 2010 Solisten Preisträger des internationalen Solistenwettbewerbs Our Soloist The Swiss conductor Thierry Fischer recently renewed his contract as Music Director of the Utah Symphony Orchestra, where he has revitalised music-making, refreshed programming and brought new energy to the orchestra and organisation as a whole. Fischer was Principal Conductor of the BBC National Orchestra of Wales from and will return as a guest in 2013 and beyond. Guest appearances have included the Philharmonia, Czech Philharmonic, Orchestre National de Lyon, Frankfurt Radio Symphony, Cincinnati Symphony, Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, London Sinfonietta, Scottish Chamber, and Swedish Chamber to name just a few. In 2012 Fischer s recording for Hyperion of Frank Martin s opera Der Sturm with the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus was awarded the International Classical Music Award (opera category) Fischer started out as principal flute in Hamburg and at the Zurich Opera. 7 The Organiser: the Animato Foundation The Animato Foundation is a charitable foundation under Swiss law with its domicile in Zug, Switzerland. Established in 2005, the foundation is under the supervision of the Swiss Foundation Authority, Bern. As a result of its philanthropic activities, the Animato Foundation is exempt from taxation. The foundation is managed by a board of trustees, which is chaired by Dr. Peter Spinnler, Zürich. In accordance with its act of founding, the Animato Foundation seeks to support young musicians in Europe in their career objective of becoming soloists or members of a symphonic orchestra. As an interface between university studies and exercising the profession, the Animato Foundation seeks ways in helping music students pass this important step with success. In doing so, the foundation does not follow the usual path of granting scholarships, but instead it provides opportunities to gain practical experience in the professional world of music. To this end, the Animato Foundation organises a sponsoring cycle, which is used to fund an orchestra academy consisting of young musicians followed by a concert tour every other year. Performing before a professional audience in some of the most renowned music halls in European music capitals, offers the music students an unique occasion to display their talent and make a once in a life-time experience.
