5 2. Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung Diese PS3 Docking Station dient der Funktionserweiterung Ihrer PS3. Weitere Informationen im Kapitel Funktionserläuterung. Die Docking Station ist ausschließlich für den Gebrauch in trockenen Innenräumen geeignet. Eine andere Verwendung als zuvor beschrieben führt zur Beschädigung dieses Produktes, darüber hinaus ist dies mit Gefahren, wie z.b. Kurzschluss, Brand, elektrischer Schlag etc. verbunden. Die Sicherheitshinweise sind unbedingt zu befolgen. Das gesamte Produkt darf nicht geändert bzw. umgebaut werden. Die Sicherheitshinweise sind unbedingt zu beachten! 3. Symbolerklärung Das Dieses Symbol mit dem Blitz im Dreieck wird verwendet, wenn Gefahr für Ihre Gesundheit besteht, z.b. durch elektrischen Schlag. Symbol mit dem Ausrufezeichen im Dreieck weist Sie auf besondere Gefahren bei Handhabung, Betrieb oder Bedienung hin. Das Hand -Symbol steht für spezielle Tipps und Bedienhinweise. 5

6 4. Sicherheitshinweise Bei Schäden, die durch Nichtbeachten dieser Bedienungsanleitung verursacht werden, erlischt die Gewährleistung/Garantie! Für Folgeschäden übernehmen wir keine Haftung! Bei Sach- oder Personenschäden, die durch unsachgemäße Handhabung oder Nichtbeachten der Sicherheitshinweise verursacht werden, übernehmen wir keine Haftung. In solchen Fällen erlischt die Gewährleistung/Garantie. 6 Die Docking Station darf nicht verändert oder umgebaut werden, sonst erlischt nicht nur die Zulassung (CE), sondern auch die Garantie/Gewährleistung. Die Spannungsversorgung erhält diese Docking Station via 2 x USB Anschlüssen (siehe Unterseite der Docking Station) direkt von der PS3. Die Docking Station darf nicht extremen Temperaturen, direktem Sonnenlicht, intensiver Vibration, Feuchtigkeit oder schwerer mechanischer Beanspruchung ausgesetzt werden. Die Docking Station benötigt nach einem raschen Temperaturwechsel eine gewisse Zeit um sich an die neue Umgebungstemperatur anzupassen. Warten Sie bis sich die Docking Station an die Umgebungstemperatur angepasst hat bevor sie benutzt werden kann. Die Docking Station ist kein Kinderspielzeug und sollte außerhalb der Reichweite von Kindern aufbewahrt werden! Sollten Sie Zweifel zum korrekten Gebrauch des Produkts oder bezüglich der Sicherheit haben, wenden Sie sich bitte an qualifiziertes Fachpersonal. Lassen Sie niemals Verpackungsmaterial unachtsam herumliegen. Plastikfolien/Taschen usw. können für Kinder zu einem gefährlichen Spielzeug werden, es besteht Erstickungsgefahr. Wenn anzunehmen ist, dass ein gefahrloser Betrieb nicht mehr möglich ist, so ist das Gerät außer Betrieb zu setzen und gegen unbeabsichtigten Betrieb zu sichern.

7 Es ist anzunehmen, dass ein gefahrloser Betrieb nicht mehr möglich ist, wenn: - das Gerät sichtbare Beschädigungen aufweist, - das Gerät nicht mehr arbeitet und - nach längerer Lagerung unter ungünstigen Verhältnissen oder - nach schweren Transportbeanspruchungen. In gewerblichen Einrichtungen sind die Unfallverhütungsvorschriften des Verbandes der gewerblichen Berufsgenossenschaften für elektrische Anlagen und Betriebsmittel zu beachten. Die Docking Station ist ausschließlich für den Gebrauch in trockenen Innenräumen geeignet. Stellen Sie sicher, dass sich keine magnetische oder elektromagnetische sowie Wärmequellen in der Nähe des Produkts befinden. Setzen Sie das Produkt keinen starken mechanischen Beanspruchungen aus. Der Fall aus geringer Höhe sowie Druck können zum Defekt führen. Gießen Sie nie Flüssigkeiten über elektrischen Geräten aus. Beachten Sie, dass sämtliche Produkte, welche an die frontseitigen USB-Anschlüsse angeschlossen werden eine max. Stromaufnahme von 500 ma nicht überschreiten. Produkte, welche eine höhere Stromaufnahme benötigen müssen direkt an die PS3 Konsole angeschlossen werden. Wartung, Anpassungs- und Reparaturarbeiten dürfen nur von einer qualifizierten Fachkraft bzw. einer Fachwerkstatt durchgeführt werden. Sollten Sie noch Fragen haben, die in dieser Bedienungsanleitung nicht beantwortet werden, so wenden Sie sich bitte an unseren technischen Kundendienst oder andere Fachleute. 7

Einbau der 6,35 cm (2,5 ) SATA-Festplatte Diese PS3 Docking Station ermöglicht den Einbau einer 6,35 cm (2,5 ) SATA-Festplatte. Beachten Sie, dass die Festplatte jedoch vor dem Einbau in die Docking Station formatiert werden muss. Die Festplatte muss das File-Format FAT32 aufweisen um eine Kompatibilität mit der PS3 zu gewährleisten. Legen Sie nach erfolgreicher Formatierung folgende Ordnerstruktur auf der Festplatte an: EXPORT GAME MP_ROOT 8

9 MUSIC PHOTO SAVEDATA Erstellen Sie zusätzlich im Ordner MP_ROOT zwei Unterordner: 100MNV01 sowie 100ANV01. Übersicht der Ordnerstruktur (ohne Unterordner): Diese Ordner werden zur PS3 Datenspeicherung verwendet, sofern die Festplatte mit FAT32 formatiert wurde. Gehen Sie nach der Formatierung der Festplatte wie folgt vor: Ziehen Sie den rückseitigen Festplatten-Einschub (Aufschrift: HD DISK) heraus. Legen Sie in korrekter Lageweise eine 6,35 cm (2,5 ) SATA-Festplatte ein. Befestigen Sie die Festplatte am Festplatten-Einschub. Z.B. via den mitgelieferten Befestigungsschrauben. Schieben Sie den Festplatten-Einschab inkl. Festplatte in die vorgesehene Halterung für den Festplatten-Einschub ein. 9

10 7. Inbetriebnahme der Docking Station mit an einer PS3 a) Produkt Installation Schließen Sie die beiden USB-Anschlusskabel (siehe Untersteite der Docking-Station) an zwei freie Ports der PS3 an. Aktivieren Sie die PS3. Um eine ordnungsgemäße Spannungsversorgung der Docking- Station zu gewährleisten müssen in jedem Fall beide USB- Anschlusskabel mit der PS3 verbunden werden. b) Funktions-Check Nachdem die PS3 aktiviert wurde blinkt die grüne LED am Basis-Panel, nach wenigen Minuten beginnt die rote LED zu blinken, dies bedeutet, dass das System initialisiert wurde. Die rote LED bedeutet, dass die Konsole die Daten auf der Festplatte liest; zur gleichen Zeit beginnen die 4 roten Status-LEDs, zur Erkennung an welchem Kanal der Controller verwendet wird, zu blinken. c) Anschluss Joypad Schließen Sie ein PS2 Joypad am Anschluss mit der Aufschrift CONVERTOR an. Drücken Sie die ANALOG-Taste. Beachten Sie, dass jedesmal, wenn die USB-Anschlüsse der Docking-Station aus der PS3 herausgezogen oder die PS3 neugestartet wird die ANALOG-Taste erneut gedrückt werden muss. In der PS3 entspricht die ANALOG-Taste des PS2 controllers der PS-Taste des PS3 -Controllers. Halten Sie die ANALOG-Taste ca. 2 Sekunden gedrückt damit der Controller von der PS3 erkannt wird. Einige Funktionen des PS2 Controllers werden unter Umständen von der PS3 nicht unterstützt. 10

11 d) Memory-Card Schieben Sie eine Memory-Card in den frontseitigen Schacht mit der Aufschrift MEMORY CARD. Wählen Sie die MEMORY-CARD-OPTION im PS3 -Menü. Der Inhalt der Memory- Card kann auf die Festplatte übertragen werden und umgekehrt. Beachten Sie, dass die Memory-Card die gleichen Features besitzt wie die original Memory-Card. Beachten Sie, dass Ihre PS3 Konsole mindestens die Firmware 1.8 oder höher besitzen muss damit alle Features unterstützt werden. e) USB Port 1 und 2 Hinweis Beachten Sie, dass sämtliche Produkte, welche an die frontseitigen USB-Anschlüsse angeschlossen werden eine max. Stromaufnahme von 500 ma nicht überschreiten. Produkte, welche eine höhere Stromaufnahme benötigen müssen direkt an die PS3 Konsole angeschlossen werden. f) Blaue LED-Beleuchtung Die blaue LED-Beleuchtung kann via dem frontseitigem Taster LED ON/OFF aktiviert bzw. deaktiviert werden. g) Festplatten-Funktionserläuterung Nachdem die Docking Station (inkl. Festplatte) an die PS3 angeschlossen wurde erkennt die PS3 diese automatisch. Die Festplatte in der Docking Station wird als USB-Komponente in folgenden PS3 -Interfaces erkannt: PHOTO, MUSIC, VIDEO, GAME, MEMORY CARD MANAGEMENT INTERFACE, GAME MEMORY INTERFACE 11

12 8. Wartung und Reinigung Es sind keine zu wartenden Teil an den Systemkomponenten enthalten. Öffnen Sie die Docking-Station und das Steckernetzgerät daher niemals. Zur Reinigung der Docking-Station genügt ein sauberes, trockenes und weiches Tuch. Reinigen Sie die Docking-Station sehr vorsichtig, andernfalls sind Kratzspuren möglich. Verwenden Sie kein aggressiven Reinigungsmittel. 9. Entsorgung a) Allgemein Elektronische und elektrische Produkt dürfen nicht in den Hausmüll. Entsorgen Sie die Produkte am Ende Ihrer Lebensdauer gemäß den geltenden gesetzlichen Bestimmungen. b) Batterien und Akkus Als Endverbraucher sind Sie gesetzlich (Batterieverordnung) zur Rückgabe aller gebrauchten Batterien und Akkus verpflichtet; eine Entsorgung über den Hausmüll ist untersagt. Schadstoffhaltige Batterien, Akkus sind mit nebenstehenden Symbolen gekennzeichnet, die auf das Verbot der Entsorgung über den Hausmüll hinweisen. Die Bezeichnungen für das ausschlaggebende Schwermetall sind Cd = Cadmium, Hg = Quecksilber, Pb = Blei. Verbrauchte Batterien, Akkus sowie Knopfzellen können Sie unentgeltlich bei den Sammelstellen Ihrer Gemeinde, unseren Filialen oder überall dort abgeben, wo Batterien/Akkus/Knopfzellen verkauft werden! Sie erfüllen damit die gesetzlichen Verpflichtungen und leisten Ihren Beitrag zum Umweltschutz! 12

16 2. Intended Use This PS3 docking station extends the functionality of your existing PS3. For more information, refer to Chapter Explanation of functions. The docking station is only suitable for dry indoor use. Use other than that described above will lead to damage of the product and may also involve additional risks such as short circuits, fire, electric shocks etc. The safety instructions must be adhered to! No part of the product should be modified or rebuilt! The safety instructions must be followed unconditionally! 3. Symbols A The lightning symbol in a triangle indicates a health hazard, e.g. danger of electric shock. exclamation mark in a triangle indicates a particular risk in handling, operating or controlling the product. The hand symbol indicates special tips and operating information. 16

17 4. Safety Instructions The guarantee will be void if damage is incurred resulting from non-compliance with these operating instructions! We will not assume any responsibility for consequential damage! We do not assume any liability for personal injury or damage to property caused by incorrect handling or non-observance of the safety instructions. In such cases the warranty/guarantee is voided. The docking station must not be modified or rebuilt, as not only the CE approval will become void but also the warranty/ guarantee. This docking station is powered directly by the PS3 via 2 x USB connections (on the reverse side of the docking station). The docking station must not be exposed to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, moisture, intense vibration or heavy mechanical stress. After rapid changes in temperature, the docking station needs some time to adjust to the surrounding temperature. Allow the docking station to adjust to the surrounding temperature before use. This docking station is not a toy and should be kept out of the reach of children! Please contact qualified personnel if you are unsure concerning the safety or the correct use of the product. Never leave the packaging material lying around unattended. Plastic foil / bags etc. can become a dangerous toy for children, there is a risk of suffocation. If you have reason to assume that safe operation is no longer possible, put the device out of operation immediately and secure it against inadvertent operation. It must be assumed that the safe operation is no longer possible, if: - the device shows visible damage 17

18 18 - the device no longer functions - the device has been stored under unfavourable conditions for a longer period of time or - following considerable stress during transportation. On industrial sites the accident prevention regulations of the association of the industrial workers society for electrical equipment and utilities must be followed. The docking station is only suitable for dry indoor use. Make sure that no magnetic or electromagnetic- or heat sources are in the vicinity of the product. Do not subject the product to heavy mechanical stress. The device can be damaged under load or when dropped from a low height. Never pour fluids on electrical devices. Please note that all products that are connected to the USB connections on the front of the device must not exceed a maximum power consumption of 500 ma. Products with a higher power consumption must be connected directly to the PS3 console. Maintenance, adjustment and repairs may only be carried out by a qualified specialist or a specialised repair shop. Installing the 6.35 cm (2.5 ) SATA hard drive This PS3 docking station is designed installation of 6.35 cm (2.5 ) SATA hard drives. Please note you will have to install the hard drive before installation in the docking station. The hard drive must have the FAT32 file system to ensure compatibility with the PS3. After formatting, create the following folder structure on the hard drive: EXPORT GAME MP_ROOT MUSIC PHOTO SAVEDATA 19

20 In the MP_ROOT folder, also create the following sub-folders: 100MNV01 and 100ANV01. Overview of folder structure (excl. sub-folders): These folders are used for saving data on the PS3 as long as the hard drive is formatted with the FAT32 file system. After formatting the hard drive please proceed as follows: Remove the hard drive insert (label: HD DISK) from the rear of the device. Insert a 6.35 cm (2.5 ) SATA hard drive making sure it is in the correct position. Secure the hard drive to the insert, e.g. using the supplied fixing screws. Insert the hard drive insert with hard drive into the designated slot for the hard drive insert. 20

21 7. Commissioning the docking station with a PS3 a) Product installation Connect the two USB connecting cables (bottom of docking station) to the two free ports on the PS3. Activate the PS3. Both USB connecting cables must be connected to the PS3 to ensure that the docking station is powered correctly. b) Functional check After activating the PS3, the green LED will light up on the basis panel and after a few minutes, the red LED will begin to flash. This means that the system was initialised. The red LED indicates that the console is reading data from the hard drive. At the same time the 4 red status LEDs will begin to flash. These indicate which channel is being used by the controller. c) Connecting the joypad Connect a PS2 joypad to the port labelled CONVERTOR. Press the ANALOG key. Please note that you will have to press the ANALOG key each time you remove the USB connections on the docking station from the PS3 or whenever die PS3 is restarted. On the PS3, the ANALOG key on the PS2 controller corresponds to the PS key on the PS3 controller. Keep the ANALOG key pressed down for around 2 seconds to enable the PS3 to recognise the controller. Some functions on the PS2 controller may not work on the PS3 under certain circumstances. 21

22 d) Memory card Insert a memory card into the front-side slot labelled MEMORY CARD. In the PS3 menu, choose MEMORY-CARD-OPTION. The data on the memory card can be transferred to and from the hard drive. Please note that the memory card has the same features as the original memory card. Please note that your PS3 console must have at least firmware 1.8 and thus must support all features. e) USB Port 1 and 2 Instructions Please note that all products that are connected to the USB connections on the front of the device must not exceed a maximum power consumption of 500 ma. Products with a higher power consumption must be connected directly to the PS3 console. f) Blue LED lighting The blue LED lighting can be switched on and off using the LED ON/OFF key on the front of the device. g) Explanation of hard drive functions The PS3 will automatically detect the docking station after it is connected (with hard drive) to the PS3. The hard drive in the docking station is recognised as a USB device in the following PS3 interfaces: PHOTO, MUSIC, VIDEO, GAME, MEMORY CARD MANAGEMENT INTERFACE, GAME MEMORY INTERFACE 22

23 8. Maintenance and Cleaning This product does not have any serviceable parts. Therefore you will never need to open up the docking station or power cable. To clean the docking station, a dry, soft and clean cloth is sufficient. Clean the docking station very carefully, you may otherwise scratch it. Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents. 9. Disposal a) General information Electric and electronic products do not belong to the household waste. Please dispose of the unserviceable device according to the relevant statutory regulations. b) Batteries and rechargeable batteries You as the end user are required by law (Battery Ordinance) to return all used batteries/rechargeable batteries. Disposing of them in the household waste is prohibited. Batteries containing hazardous substances are labelled with the symbols shown to the left. These symbols also indicate that disposal of these batteries in the household waste is prohibited. The designations for the decisive heavy metals are: Cd = cadmium, Hg = mercury, Pb = lead. You can return used batteries/rechargeable batteries/coin cell batteries free of charge at the official collection points of your community, in our stores, or wherever batteries/rechargeable batteries/coin cell batteries are sold! You thus fulfil the legal requirements and make your contribution to protecting the environment! 23

27 2. Utilisation conforme Cette station d accueil PS3 sert à étendre les fonctions de votre PS3. Pour plus d informations, voir le chapitre «Présentation des fonctions». La station d accueil est conçue uniquement pour être utilisée dans des locaux intérieurs secs. Toute utilisation autre que celle décrite précédemment peut endommager l appareil ; de plus, elle peut entraîner des risques de courts-circuits, d incendies, de décharges électriques, etc. Les consignes de sécurité doivent impérativement être observées. 28 4. Consignes de sécurité Tout dommage résultant du non-respect du présent mode d emploi entraîne l annulation de la garantie. Cette station d accueil est alimentée directement par la PS3 via 2 prises USB (voir au-dessous de la station d accueil). Cette station d accueil ne doit pas être exposée à des températures extrêmes, à la lumière directe du soleil, à des vibrations intenses, à l humidité ou à de fortes sollicitations mécaniques. En cas de changement brutal de température, la station d accueil a besoin d un certain temps pour s adapter à la température ambiante. Attendez que la station d accueil se soit adaptée à la température ambiante avant de pouvoir l utiliser. La station d accueil n est pas un jouet destiné aux enfants, elle doit être conservée hors de leur portée. En cas de doute concernant l utilisation correcte ou la sécurité de l appareil, il convient de s adresser à un technicien spécialisé. Ne laissez jamais traîner le matériel d emballage. Les films en plastique/sacs, etc. pourraient devenir des jouets dangereux pour les enfants, car ils présentent un risque d étouffement. Lorsque le fonctionnement sans danger de l appareil ne peut plus être garanti, mettez l appareil hors service et protégez-le contre toute remise en marche intempestive. La station d accueil est conçue uniquement pour être utilisée dans des locaux intérieurs secs. Assurez-vous qu il n y a ni sources magnétiques ou électromagnétiques, ni sources de chaleur à proximité de l appareil. Evitez d exposer l appareil à de fortes sollicitations mécaniques. Une chute de faible hauteur et la pression peuvent endommager l appareil. Ne versez jamais de liquides sur les appareils électriques. Notez que tous les appareils qui sont reliés aux prises USB avant ne doivent pas dépasser une consommation électrique max. de 500 ma. Les appareils qui nécessitent une consommation électrique supérieure doivent être directement reliés à la console PS3.
