4 Grußwort Greetings Wir sind Partner für effektive Lösungen We are Partners for Real Solutions Im Namen der amerikanischen BACnet Manu facturers Association möch te ich der BIG-EU für die führende Rolle danken, die sie bei der Förderung der Interoperabilität durch BACnet übernimmt. Das BACnet Europe Journal ist ein mächtiges Werkzeug, um die Wahrnehmung von BACnet in der Welt zu verstärken, und es ist ein weiteres Beispiel der kontinuierlichen BACnet-Partnerschaft zwischen Nordamerika und Europa. Im Jahr 2006 wird sich BACnet weltweit weiter ausbreiten, da mehr und mehr Länder den Nutzen erkennen. Die ASHRAE hat kürzlich die 165. Anbieter-Zulassung ausgestellt, und es gibt weltweit bereits Hunderte von Produkten, die BACnet unterstützen. Auch weitere neue Entwicklungen sind überzeugend: Das BACnet Testing Laboratory (BTL) hat die dritte amerikanische BACnet Testphase abgeschlossen, die BACnet Building Controller (B-BC) und Router umfasste. Die ISO hat jüngst die neuen Vorgehensweisen bestätigt, BACnet- Updates schneller in den ISO-Standard zu bringen. Damit kann sichergestellt werden, die Übereinstimmung ISO-konformer Systeme mit dem BACnet- Standard zu verbessern. Unser jährlicher amerikanischer Interoperabilitäts- Workshop fand vom September in Boston statt. In Nashville fand vom Oktober die 7. BACnet-Konferenz und Ausstellung statt. Dies war eine Veranstaltung auch für Anwender, Berater und Integratoren. Während die Konferenz BACnet auf allen Ebenen beschrieb, zeigte die Ausstellung den Teilnehmern BACnet in Aktion. Mit der Erklärung zum europäischen Standard und zur ISO-Norm entwickelt sich auch der Markterfolg. Es gibt Zehntausende von BACnet Installationen, verteilt auf dem ganzen Globus und auf allen Kontinenten. Am meisten ermutigend war aber die Entstehung einer wahren BACnet Gemeinschaft von Konstrukteuren, Herstellern, Installateuren, Eigentümern und Betreibern, die danach strebt, das Leistungsvermögen unseres globalen Standards zu optimieren. Diese Gemeinschaft ist das Fundament der vier BACnet Interest Groups, von denen die BACnet Interest Group Europe sich im Mai 1998 als erste konstituiert hat. Die BIG-EU war Vorreiter sowohl der Marketing- als auch der Technik-Aktivitäten und betritt nun auch Neuland mit dem BACnet Europe Journal, das Sie in Händen halten. Da die BACnet-Gemeinde weltweit beständig wächst und sich entfaltet, freuen wir uns auf weitere Gelegenheiten der Partnerschaft mit der BIG-EU, um Gebäudeeigentümer mit hochkarätigen Interoperabilitäts-Lösungen zu versorgen. On behalf of the American BACnet Manufacturers Associ ation, I would like to thank the BACnet Interest Group Europe for its leadership in promoting interoperabili ty through BACnet. The BACnet Europe Journal has been a tremendous tool for raising the awareness of BACnet around the world, and is another example of the continuing BACnet partnership between North America and Europe. The year 2006 will see BACnet continue to spread geographically as more and more countries become aware of its benefits. ASHRAE recently issued the 165th BACnet vendor ID, and there are now hundreds of products throughout the world that support BACnet. Here are just a few of the more recent positive developments with BACnet: The BACnet Testing Laboratory recently completed the third phase of BACnet testing, which includes BACnet Building Controllers (BBC) and routers. The ISO recently approved new procedures that will allow updates to BACnet to be incorporated into the ISO standard more rapidly. This will help insure that systems that comply with the ISO standard will keep closely in-step with systems that comply with the BACnet standard. The annual BACnet Interoperability Workshop was held on September in Boston, MA. In Nashville, from October the 7th BACnet Conference & Expo took place. This has also been an event for end users, consultants, and integrators. The conference was designed to provide BACnet education at all levels and the expo gave atten dees exposure to BACnet in action. As the BACnet community worldwide continues to expand and mature, we look forward to more opportunities to partner with BIG-EU to provide building owners with real solutions for interoperability. Liebe Leser, es freut mich sehr, Ihnen im Namen der BACnet Interest Group Europe die dritte Ausgabe des BACnet Journals vorstellen zu dürfen. BACnet feierte seinen zehnten Geburtstag und hat sich in dieser Zeit als umfassender, offener Kommunikationsstandard im Bereich der Gebäudeautomation und Sicherheitstechnik etabliert. Was spricht für BACnet und warum ist BACnet für Investoren, Planer und Bauherren so attraktiv? Die Antworten können an dieser Stelle leider nur sehr verkürzt angerissen werden: 1. BACnet kann ohne Lizenzen und unabhängig von spezieller Hardware oder Betriebssystemen eingesetzt werden. 2. Im Gegensatz zu Gebäudeautomation mit proprietärer Kommunikation bietet BACnet als ISO-Standard ein wesentlich höheres Maß an Investitionsschutz. Auch die Kommunikation über Web-Services und damit die Integration der Felddaten in BackOffice-Anwendungen wird von BACnet unterstützt. 3. BACnet setzt auf gängige Netzwerkoptionen, zum Beispiel das Internet-Protokoll. Damit passen Gebäudeautomation und Sicherheitstechnik in die IT-Infrastruktur. Sie verlieren ihren kostspieligen Status als Exoten. 4. BACnet ist ein umfassender und mächtiger Standard. Kein anderer Standard im praktischen Einsatz der Gebäudeautomation definiert so komplexe Transaktionen wie BACnet. 5. Positive Projekterfahrungen. Bitte schauen Sie sich hierzu die BACnet Projekte an, die in dieser Ausgabe des BACnet Europe Journals vorgestellt werden. BACnet ist heute Defacto-Standard für öffentliche und in zunehmendem Maße auch für private Bauvorhaben. 6. Weltweite Unterstützung durch zahlreiche Hersteller. Das ermöglicht Vergleichbarkeit und Wettbewerb, was die Dienstleistungsqualität verbessern kann. 7. Der BACnet Standard umfasst nicht nur die MSR-, sondern auch weitere Anwendungen wie die Gefahrenmeldetechnik, und ermöglicht damit eine sinnvolle und flexible Gewerkeintegration, die helfen kann, die Betriebskosten zu senken. Das vorliegende Journal zeigt Ihnen, BACnet ist quicklebendig. Mit dem so genannten Plug-Fest im Mai 2005 demonstrierten die namhaften MSR-Hersteller erneut ihre Verpflichtung, dem Markt BACnet-Lösungen zur Verfügung zu stellen, die problemlos zusammenarbeiten. Ebenfalls im Mai kamen Vertreter verschiedener nationaler BACnet Interessengruppen aus Europa zu einem Austausch und zur Koordination der Aktivitäten unter dem Dach der BIG-EU zusammen. Das Interesse an BACnet ist in Europa in diesem Jahr spürbar gewachsen, und in zahlreichen Ländern beginnen Fachleute, in nationalen BACnet-Interessengruppen zusammenzuarbeiten. Ein weiterer Höhepunkt fand im September 2005 mit dem BACnet Planerforum zum Thema BACnet im Aufbruch Erfolgsfaktoren moderner Gebäudeautomation statt. Bitte informieren Sie sich auch hierzu in diesem Heft. Viel Freude beim Lesen! Dear Reader, Much to my delight, I present you the third edition of the BACnet Journal on behalf of the BACnet Interest Group Europe sees BACnet celebrating its tenth birthday. During this time it has established itself as a comprehensive, open communication standard in the building automation, security and life safety management arena. But why is BACnet so attractive to investors, planners and building owners alike? Very briefly: 1. BACnet can be used independently of special hardware or operating systems. It does not require special licences. 2. Unlike building automation solutions that use proprietary communication protocols, BACnet is an ISO-standard that offers a substantially higher degree of protection to a customer s investment. It also supports communication through web-services and thus supports the integration of field data into Back Office applications. 3. BACnet uses standard network options such as the Internet Protocol. This enables building automation, security and life safety management functions to fit neatly into your existing IT infrastructure. 4. BACnet is a comprehensive and powerful standard. 5. Positive project experiences. Just look at the BACnet projects described in the Journal. Not only is BACnet the de-facto-standard for public construction projects, it is increasingly being used in the private sector. 6. It enjoys world-wide support from numerous manufacturers. This allows comparison of offerings and competition and with this, improved service quality. 7. The BACnet standard doesn t just cover HVAC-control. It also spans other building management applications such as safety and security. This makes for a useful and flexible integration platform, one that can help to achieve lower operating costs and drive performance improvement. The journal in front of you shows how BACnet is alive! With the so called plug-fest in May 2005, the big players in HVAC control demonstrated their commitment to giving the market BACnet solutions that readily co-operate right from the start. Likewise, May saw representatives from various national BACnet interest groups meet to exchange experiences and co-ordinate their activities under the umbrella of the BIG- EU. Interest in BACnet is growing throughout Europe. And September 2005 saw another highlight with the BACnet Planner Forum talking about BACnet on the move - success factors of modern building automation. 6 Anwendungen Solutions Systemintegration im STIHL-Entwicklungszentrum System Integration in the STIHL Development Centre Im neuen Entwicklungszentrum der ANDREAS STIHL AG & Co. KG ermöglicht die Integrationsfähigkeit von Metasys auf Basis von BACnet und Web Services eine durchgängige Kommunikation. The integration capability of Metasys based on BACnet and Web Services provides full communication throughout the building automation system in the new development centre at ANDREAS STIHL AG & Co. KG. In Waiblingen-Neustadt wurde bis Mitte 2004 ein neues Entwicklungszentrum (EWZ) für 370 Stihl-Mitarbeiter mit einem Investitionsvolumen von 40 Millionen Euro errichtet. Im Entwicklungszentrum befinden sich Labore, Werkstätten und Büros sowie zahlreiche Prüfräume mit umfassender Medienversorgung. Besonders die individuellen Ansprüche für Kraftstoffversorgung und Spanabsaugung in den Prüfräumen stellen hohe Anforderungen an die Gebäudetechnik. Im EWZ wurden ca Regel- und Steuerkreise installiert. Dadurch entstanden für die Gebäudeautomation ca Datenpunkte in der Feldebene, die auf der Automationsebene über Network Automation Engines (NAEs) erfasst, ausgewertet und gesteuert werden können. Interoperable Integration Die sieben NAEs von Johnson basieren auf dem BACnet-Protokollstandard. Damit können alle BACnetfähigen Geräte und Anlagen interoperabel in das System integriert werden. Darüber hinaus verfügen alle Automationsstationen über einen integrierten Web-Server, so dass jede NAE für die Netzeinwahl via Internet-Browser vorbereitet ist. So kann das Betreiber-Team von Stihl über das Intranet des Unternehmens mit Hilfe eines Internet-Browsers auf die einzelnen Automationsstationen zugreifen. Ein externer Zugriff auf das Netzwerk ist ebenfalls möglich. Dazu wurden alle Metasys-Komponenten in die IT-Struktur, insbesondere in das bestehende Sicherheitskonzept, integriert. Neben dem Zugriff über die Bedienstationen des Betreiberpersonals stehen für die Schichtleiter vor Ort fünf Touch-Panels zur Steuerung der gebäudetechnischen Systeme via Internet-Browser zur Verfügung. Damit kann für alle Prüfräume individuell die Nutzung der verschiedenen Medien gesteuert werden. Die erfassten Daten des EWZ werden über BACnet/ OPC der standortübergreifenden Stihl Werksleittechnik (Wonderware Intouch) zur Verfügung gestellt. Die Installation von Johnson Controls in der neuen Liegenschaft EWZ gliedert sich somit auf der offenen Betreiberplattform nahtlos in die gewohnte Bedieneroberfläche ein und ermöglicht den gleichzeitigen Zugriff über Web-Browser sowie BACnet. Vorteile für das Facility Management Die Verbindung der einzelnen technischen Systeme via BACnet mit einem zentralen Managementsystem bietet enorme Vorteile für das gesamte Unternehmen. Die Verantwortlichen des Facility Managements können ihre Arbeit rationalisieren und den Energieverbrauch im Entwicklungszentrum wie auch im gesamten Werk erheblich optimieren. Dementsprechend zufrieden zeigt sich auch Thomas Brandin, Leiter der Werksplanung im Hause Stihl: Wir sind froh, dass wir mit Johnson Controls ein kompetentes Unternehmen gefunden haben, das in kurzer Zeit eine anspruchsvolle und innovative Gebäudeautomation für das neue Entwicklungszentrum realisieren konnte. Mit BACnet in Kombination mit WebServices, konnten die unterschiedlichen Nutzeranforderungen der Liegenschaftsbetreiber und der Entwickler im EWZ erfüllt werden. Dies ist die Voraussetzung, um das Gebäude jetzt und in Zukunft wirtschaftlich zu betreiben. 6

7 Anwendungen Solutions Interoperable integration The seven NAEs from Johnson are based on the BACnet protocol standard. This means that all BACnetcompatible equipment and systems can be integrated in the system with full interoperability. In addition, each automation station has an integrated web server so each NAE can be accessed via an internet browser. The Stihl operations team can now access the individual automation stations via the intranet with the aid of an internet browser. External access to the network is also possible. All the Metasys components have been integrated in the IT structure, particularly in the existing security concept. Not only is there access for the operating personnel via control stations but the shift managers have five touch panels on site for controlling building management systire company. Facility management staff can rationalise their work and optimise energy consumption not only in the development centre but also throughout the entire plant. Foto: Stihl The specific requirements for the power supply installations and the wood shaving removal systems in the test rooms place enormous demands on the building systems. The new Stihl development centre is located in Waiblingen-Neustadt, Germany and staffed by 370 personnel. Completed in the middle of 2004 for a total investment of 40 million euros, it accommodates laboratories, workshops, offices and numerous test rooms with extensive media provision. Enormous demands are placed on the building systems, in particular from the specific requirements for the power supply installations and the wood shaving removal systems in the test rooms. Around 1300 open and closed loop control circuits have been installed in the development centre. For the building automation system this has resulted in about 9000 data points at the field level. Data from these points can be recorded, evaluated and controlled at the automation level using Network Automation Engines (NAEs). tems, again via an internet browser. Usage of the various media can therefore be controlled individually for all the test rooms. The recorded data from the development centre is also forwarded via BACnet. The server provides the data available via a BACnet/OPC server interface to the Stihl facilitywide Supervisory System, based on Wondware Intouch. The installation from Johnson Controls is thereby fully integrated in the customary user interface in the new development centre and provides simultaneous access via web browser or BACnet. Stadt Nürnberg Blick in das Frankenstadion Nürnberg View of the terraces in the Frankenstadion, Nuremberg Die Anforderungen der FIFA an internationale Wettkampfstätten machten einen Umbau des Frankenstadions in Nürnberg erforderlich. Das Frankenstadion ist eines der zwölf Sportarenen, in denen die Spiele der FIFA-Weltmeisterschaft 2006 ausgetragen werden. Das etwa 56 Mio. Euro teure Projekt umfasste unter anderem eine Aufstockung der Ränge in den Süd- und Nordkurven und eine Absenkung des Spielfeldes um 1,30 m. Das FIFA Pflichtenheft sieht nämlich freie Sicht von allen Sitzplätzen auf das Spielfeld vor. Nach dem Umbau bietet das Stadion nun vollständig überdachte Sitzplätze während der Weltmeisterschaft an. Funktionsgebäude - Haupttribüne - Fanbetreuung Das viergeschossige Funktionsgebäude entstand in der bisher nicht ausgebauten Südwestkurve und ist unmittelbar an die denkmalgeschützte Haupttribüne angegliedert. Hier entstanden auf m² Fläche VIP-Räume für 800 Ehrengäste und 400m² Multifunktionsräume. Im Unterrang der Haupttribüne bietet der Ehrengastbereich während der Weltmeisterschaft komfortable Sitze für die 800 Ehrengäste, die alle einen direkten Blick auf das Spielgeschehen genießen. Die denkmalgeschützte Fassade der Haupttribüne blieb erhalten. Im Nordteil der Haupttribüne befinden sich die neuen Umkleidekabinen für die Mannschaften. Mit circa 1.000m² überdachter Gesamtfläche entstand am Max-Morlock- Platz ein Technikgebäude und vor allem der neue Treff für die Fans, die 350m² große Gaststätte Max-Morlock-Stuben. Max Morlock ist Nürnbergs Fußball-Ikone schlechthin wurde er im ersten Endspiel nach dem Krieg gegen Kaiserslautern mit dem Club deutscher Meister. Technik und Gebäudeleittechnik Die Stromversorgung des Stadions ist ausfallsicher ausgeführt durch getrennte Zuleitungen und Notstromdiesel. Alle Heizungsanlagen stehen aus ökologischen und ökonomischen Gründen im Austausch mit den Einrichtungen des direkt daneben liegenden Stadionbades. In der Südwest-Kurve entstand die neue Leitwarte für die Gebäudetechnik. Mit einem modernen Ge bäudemanagement auf der Basis des weltweiten BACnet Standards sorgt Honeywell für Komfort und niedrige Betriebskosten. So werden in das offene Gebäudemanagement Honeywell Enterprise Buildings Integrator (EBI) etwa physikalische Datenpunkte über elf BACnet-Automationsstationen Honeywell Excel Web integriert. Außerdem sind die Beleuchtung des Funktionsgebäudes und der Max- Morlock-Stuben über zwei EIB-Busse in das Gebäudemanagement eingebunden. In das Gebäudemanagement ist darüber hinaus ein M-Bus mit Wärmemengenzähler des Stadionbads und der Wärmezentrale eingebunden. Der Honeywell EBI kann zu einem integrierten Gebäudeund Sicherheitsmanagement ausgebaut werden. FIFA Federation Internationale de Football Association - regulations for international match venues necessitated reconstruction of the Frankenstadion in Nuremberg, Germany. The Frankenstadion is one of the twelve sport stadiums in which the FIFA World Championship 2006 matches will be held. New stands were erected in the south and north curves and the pitch was lowered by approximately 1.30m during the approx. 56 million Europroject. This gives the spectators in the lower seat rows a better view of the match and meets the FIFA requirement for all seats to have an unobstructed view of the pitch. The newly reconstructed stadium now offers 44,308 completely covered seats for the World Championship. Hospitality suites - Main stand - Fan relations The four-storey hospitality building was erected in the undeveloped south-west curve and is directly connected to the main stand, which is under one huge canopy. VIP rooms with a total area of 2200m² were built for 800 guests as well as 400m² multi-functional rooms. The VIP area in the lower part of the main stand will give 800 guests-of-honour comfortable seats with a direct view of the World Championship matches. The front of the main stand, a listed building, remains untouched. The new team changing rooms are located in the northern part of the main stand. A technology building, under a 1000 m² roof will be the new meeting point for fans. Built on the Max-Morlock- Platz, it houses the 350m² Max-Morlock-Stuben tavern. Max Morlock is Nuremberg s most eminent football star. He became German champion with the Club in 1948 in the first post-war champions hip game against Kaiserslautern. Technology and building control technology Separate utility supply lines and emergency power generators ensure a fail-safe power supply for the stadium. All heating systems are connected to the equipment in the adjacent Stadionbad for ecological and economic reasons. The new building technology and management control room was erected in the south-west end of the stadium. Honeywell technology based on the worldwide BACnet standard provides for comfort and low operating costs in the Frankenstadion and its associated buildings. Approximately physical data points are linked together via the open Honeywell Enterprise Buildings Integrator (EBI) platform. 11 BACnet Honeywell Excel Web automation stations are integrated into the building management Solu tion via the network infrastructure. The main demand on the installed building monitoring system at the Ludwig-Maximilian-University in Munich is the possibility of communication between automation stations of different manufacturers. LMU München Panorama des Stammgeländes der LMU Panoramic view of the parent complex of the LMU Im Jahre 2001 erhielt Neuberger vom Universitätsbauamt München den Auftrag zur Errichtung einer zentralen Gebäudeleittechnik für den Bereich des Stammgeländes der Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU). Zeitgleich wurde begonnen die MSR-Technik zu sanieren und zur Überwachung, Archivierung und Visualisierung über BACnet auf die zentrale Leittechnik ProGrafNT aufzuschalten. Im Einsatz sind zum großen Teil Neuberger Automationsstationen PMC mit nativem BACnet. Ein weiterer GLT-Schwerpunkt im Vorklinischen Bereich wurde ebenfalls mit dem Neuberger Gebäudemanagementsystem Pro- GrafNT und BACnet/IP realisiert. Auch im Universitätsbereich in Großhadern wurde Neuberger 2003 mit der Errichtung einer zentralen Gebäudeleittechnik beauftragt, ebenfalls mit BACnet/ IP ausgeführt. Offene Kommunikation gefordert Die wichtigste Anforderung an die installierte Gebäudeleittechnik ist die Möglichkeit der Kommunikation mit Automationsstationen verschiedener Fabrikate. Dies konnte aufgrund der Spezifizierungen in der BACnet-Norm erfolgreich umgesetzt werden. Die weiteren Anforderungen umfassen die Visualisierung der Anlagen sowie die Archivierung von Messwerten, Störund Betriebsmeldungen. Auch die Möglichkeit der Zusammenführung der Daten von dezentralen Teilprojekten auf einen zentralen Leitrechner (Managementserver) möglich sein. musste Vom Netzwerkkonzept zur CAFM-Einbindung In Zusammenarbeit mit den Netzwerkbetreibern des Leibniz-Rechenzentrums wurde ein Netzwerkkonzept realisiert, das zukunftsorientiert alle Möglichkeiten zur Erweiterung der Anlagen offen lässt. So ist u.a. die Zusammenführung aller drei Managementserver zu einer übergeordneten Managementebene möglich. In Bereichen der Universität mit eigenen Zuständigkeiten ist jeweils ein eigener Gebäudeleitrechner mit BACnet-Automationsstationen installiert. Die Kommunikation zwischen diesem Gebäudeleitrechner (Subserver) und dem Managementserver erfolgt via Internet über eine sichere Verbindung. Bei Unterbrechung der Netzwerkverbindung gehen somit keine Daten der Gebäudeleitebene verloren. Für die Störmeldeweiterleitung an das Betriebspersonal wird die bestehende Funkrufanlage der LMU genutzt. Eine Schnittstelle ermöglicht die Übergabe der Meldungen/Alarme in Abhängigkeit von Prioritäten. Außerhalb der Arbeitszeit werden die Alarmmeldungen per SMS-Dienst an die Rufbereitschaft übertragen. Durch Einsatz von GLT-Bedienstationen (Clients) ist es dem Betreiber möglich, die in seinen Zuständigkeitsbereich fallenden Anlagen zu überwachen, zu bedienen und zu optimieren. Die Anbindung ist über Internetverbindungen realisiert. Zusätzlich können von Service- Laptops aus Verbindungen zum Managementserver hergestellt werden. Sämtliche Messwerte sowie Alarm-, Stör- und Ereignismeldungen werden gespeichert und ausgewertet. Nutzungszeiten werden auf der Leit- und Managementebene für alle Anlagen grafisch und übersichtlich eingegeben. Die Kommunikation mit einem Computer Aided Facility Management- System (CAFM) ist über OPC oder auch Datenbankkopplung geplant und unabhängig vom Hersteller des CAFM jederzeit realisierbar. 10

11 Anwendungen Solutions Offenes Gebäudemanagement der Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München über BACnet und TCP/IP Open Building Management in the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich over BACnet and TCP/IP In 2001, Neuberger received the order from the planning department and building control office of the University of Munich to establish a central building monitoring system for the area of the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich. At the same time, the MSRtechnology was redeveloped and switched via BACnet to the central monitoring system for observation, archiving and visualisation. For the most part, PMC automation stations with native BACnet from Neuberger are in use. Another BMS main focus has been added through the redevelopment of the installations in the preclinic area of the LMU. The building management system ProGrafNT with BACnet/IP has been realized by Neuberger, too. In the University s area in Großhadern, Neuberger was charged to establish a central building monitoring system. Open communication demanded The main demand on the installed building monitoring system is the possibility of communication between automation stations of different manufacturers. This was successfully realized because of the specifications in the BACnet-standard. The further demands include the visualisation of the installations as well as the archiving of measured values, fault and operation messages. The possibility to bring together data of decentralized subprojects to a central management server was also required. From network concept to CAFM integration In cooperation with the network operators from the Leibniz Data Centre a futureorientated network concept was realized that provides the opportunity for any enlargement of the system. For example, it is possible to bring together the three management servers to a supervisory management level. In areas of the University that have their own competences, a separate building monitoring computer with BACnet-automation stations is installed. The communication between this building monitoring computer and the management server occurs via a secure Internet connection. In case of disconnection, data from the building monitoring level won t be lost. For transmission of faultmessages to the operational staff, the existing radio paging station of the LMU is used. An interface facilitates the handing over of alarm re ports depending on priorities. Outside of working hours, the alarm reports are sent to the emergency ser vice via short text message service. The use of BMS operator s panels (Clients) enables the operator to observe, operate and optimize all installations in his field of responsibility. The connection of these Clients is realized via the existing internet connections. In addition, it is possible to establish a connection to the management server with a service-laptop at any automation station. All measured values and alarms, fault and eventmessages occurring in the monitoring system are saved in history data banks and analyzed. Utilization times are graphically and clearly entered in the monitoring and management level for all systems. The communication with a CAFM system is planned via OPC, data base interface. 12 Anwendungen Solutions Vollintegrierte Gesamtlösung für Eurohypo Eschborn Eurohypo Near Frankfurt Appreciates Total Building Solutions Das Eurohypo-Gebäude ist ein Meilenstein in der Entwicklung offener Systeme und öffnet neue Formen der Gebäudebewirtschaftung. The Eurohypo building is a milestone in the development of open systems. This new kind of plant operation offers opportunities for building management. In einer Rekordzeit von knapp zwei Jahren entstand in Eschborn bei Frankfurt/Main die neue Zentrale der Eurohypo Aktiengesellschaft für 1200 Mitarbeiter. Alle Gewerke werden in ein offenes Gebäudemanagementsystem mit Hilfe von BACnet, LONWORKS und OPC eingebunden, betrieben und überwacht. Der ursprüngliche Planungsansatz des Neubaus war traditionell und gewerkeorientiert, die Technik auf LONWORKS abgestimmt. Doch SBT konnte Bauherr und Betreiber von den Vorteilen einer vollintegrierten Gesamtlösung einer Total Building Solu tion überzeugen. Die Kernpunkte dieses Konzeptes sind folgende: Alle technischen Gewerke sind an ein offenes Managementsystem angebunden und können von einer Stelle aus bedient und überwacht werden. Im Bauvorhaben werden konsequent offene Standards eingesetzt. Die MSR-Anlagen mit über 5000 physikalischen Datenpunkten werden mit nativem BACnet automatisiert. Die flexible Raumautomation wird mit LONWORKS ausgeführt. Den Bauherrn und Projektentwickler überzeugten nicht nur die generellen Kosteneinsparungen mit dem offenen Desigo-System gegenüber dem ursprünglichen Konzept, sondern auch die einfach zu implementierenden Redundanzen, z. B. zur Absicherung der Klimatisierung des Rechenzentrums. Diese Total Building Solu tion gestattet die zentrale Betriebsführung der Liegenschaft mit einem einzigen Gebäudeautomationssystem und ersetzt so fünf gewerkespezifische Lösungen für HLK-Anlagen, Brandschutztechnik, Zugangskontrolle, Einbruchmeldeanlage und Videoüberwachung. Integriert in DESIGO sind: 4 RWA-Zentralen zur Steuerung der 500 Brandschutz- und Entrauchungsklappen, 90 Volumenstromregler, und der Klappen und Lüfter zur Entrauchung, Argonlöschung und Argonabsaugung, 3000 Brandmelder über gewerkeseitigen OPC, 150 Einbruchmelder über OPC, Videoüberwachungsanlage mit 47 Kameras, Zutrittskontrollsysteme mit 210 Kartenlesern und 50 Kontrollern (unberechtigter Zutritt, Sabotage) mit Hilfe einer V-LAN- Verbindung auf die SQL- Datenbank, M-Bus-Zentrale OZW10 mit 350 M-Bus-Zählern. Für die sicherheitstechnischen Gewerke wurden bauseits OPC-Server bereitgestellt. SBT Alle Grundrisse des Architekten sind im Managementsystem hinterlegt. Alle Komponenten der gebäudetechnischen Systeme werden angezeigt und animiert, z.b. ausgelöste Brandmelder, Volumenstromregler, Kartenlesegeräte und Videokameras. Auch die dazu gehörenden Funktionsbeschreibungen sind im Gebäudemanagementsystem elektronisch hinterlegt. Das Eurohypo-Gebäude ist nicht nur für den Lieferanten und Systemintegrator des Gebäudemanagementsystems ein Meilenstein in der Entwicklung offener Systeme. Auch für das Facility Management eröffnen sich durch diese Art des Anlagenbetriebs und der Bedienung neue Formen der Gebäudebewirtschaftung. This kind of Total Building Solution facilitates central operational management of the premises with a single building automation and control system, substituting five plant-specific solutions for HVAC, fire protection, access control, intrusion alarm system and video surveillance. Inzwischen sind 22 Liegenschaften mit Datenpunkten integriert. Kieback&Peter laid the foundation for open building automation at the University of Rostock. Traditio et Innovatio in diesem Leitgedanken verbindet die Universität Rostock ihre 600-jährige Geschichte mit einer zukunftsorientierten Ausbildung gegründet, ist die Universität Rostock die älteste Universität im Ostseeraum. In einem Radius von 15 Kilometer sind 262 Liegenschaften rund um das Hauptgebäude verteilt. Die Liegenschaften der Universität waren zunächst dezentral organisiert. Um die Effizienz der verschiedenen gebäudetechnischen Anlagen zu steigern, entschied sich die Universitätsverwaltung für eine zentrale Leittechnik und die Integration der Systeme auf Basis von BACnet. Vorhandene und neue Systeme sollten zentral überwacht und gesteuert werden, Erweiterungen problemlos möglich sein. Den Grundstein für die offene Gebäudeautomation legte Kieback&Peter. Die bestehende Photon GLT Gebäudeleittechnik wurde umgerüstet und mit einer BACnet-Schnittstelle erweitert. Die Leittechnik wurde in mehreren Modernisierungsstufen ausgebaut. Mit der Einbindung in das universitäre Datennetz ist die Überwachung und Steuerung über TCP/IP vom PC aus möglich. Dank BACnet können alle Gewerke eingebunden und auf das übergeordnete Leitsystem geschaltet werden. Inzwischen sind 22 Liegenschaften mit Datenpunkten integriert. Die Integration der verschiedenen Anlagen zu einer durchgängigen Gebäudeautomation macht den Betrieb sicherer und wirtschaftlicher. Von einem Arbeitsplatz aus können sie komfortabel gesteuert, optimiert und täglich 24 Stunden überwacht werden. Der zentrale GLT-Arbeitsplatz ist in der betriebstechnischen Meldestelle der Universität eingerichtet. Hier wurde das bestehende homo gene System mit dem neuen heterogenen System zu einem übergeordneten Gesamtsystem verbunden. Die neue Neutrino-GLT Gebäudeleittechnik ist das Multitalent, das neben der Kommunikation über BACnet auch eine LON- Schnittstelle anbietet. So können auch LON-Systeme direkt eingebunden werden. Mit dem Neubau der Fachbereiche Biologie und Chemie zog die neue Generation der Gebäudeautomation 2001 auch in die Institutsgebäude der Universität ein. Das installierte DDC4000- System kommuniziert über natives BACnet und bildet mit der Neutrino GLT Gebäudeleittechnik eine zuverlässige Einheit. Mit BACnet ist auch der Neubau der Universitätsbibliothek eingebunden. Die DDC-Technik sorgt hier für die optimale Nutzung von Erdwärme. Durch die automatische Steuerung der installierten Geothermie-Anlage werden die Räume der Bibliothek wirtschaftlich und umweltfreundlich mit Erdwärme geheizt. Zusätzlich stellt das System in den Sommermonaten Kaltwasser für die Gebäudekühlung zur Verfügung. Mit der Erweiterung der Gebäudeleittechnik um den BACnet-Standard hat die Universität Rostock eine strategische Entscheidung für Offenheit und Flexibilität getroffen - bei größtmöglicher Homogenität auf der Managementebene. Mit den BACnet-Komponenten von Kieback&Peter und der Integration verschiedener Standards wurden die Erwartungen an das ehrgeizige Vorhaben erfolgreich umgesetzt. 14

Tradition and Innovation that was the guiding idea for Rostock University to connect its 600 years of history with future-oriented education. Founded in 1419, Rostock University is the oldest university in the Baltic Sea area. 262 estate buildings are spread within a radius of 15 kilometers. In the beginning these buildings were decentrally organized. In order to increase the efficiency of the various building automation systems, the university management chose a centralized control technology based on BACnet. Existing and new systems were to be centrally monitored and controlled and expansions carried out as smoothly as possible. Kieback&Peter laid the foundation for the open building automation system. The existing building control system, Photon GLT, was rebuilt and enhanced with a BACnet interface. The control technology was modernized and expanded in several steps. Through integration into the university s data network, it is now possible to monitor and control the system via TCP/IP from any PC. Thanks to BACnet, all systems were integrated and connected to the superordinate control system. Meanwhile 22 estates have been integrated with 30,000 nodes. Integrating the various systems into one building automation system has made operation more reliable and efficient. They can be easily controlled, optimized and monitored around the clock from a single work-station. The central GLT work station is located in the University s operational reporting office. The existing homogenous system was connected with the new heterogeneous system to a superordinate complete system. The new Neutrino-GLT building management system is multitalented and provides, in addition to communication via BACnet, a LON-interface which enables the integration of LON-systems. With two new departments biology and chemistry the new generation of building automation 2001 moved into the University s Institute building. The installed DDC4000-system communicates via native BACnet and provides, together with the Neutrino GLT building management system, a reliable unity. The University s new library is also integrated via BACnet. Here, the DDC technology provides optimal use of geothermal energy. Automatic control of the geothermal system ensures that the library s rooms are economically heated in an environmentally friendly way. In addition, the system provides cold water for the building s cooling system during the summer months. The University of Rostock made a strategic decision for openness and flexibility by enhancing the building management system with the BACnet-Standard with the highest possible homogeneity at the management level. By using BACnet components from Kieback&Peter and integrating various standards, the expectations of this ambitious project were fulfilled. 19 BACnet insight BACnet versus OPC Konkurrierende Philosophien oder Partner in der Kommunikation BACnet versus OPC - competitive philosophies or partners in communication? HANS SYMANCZIK 1 Wo liegen die Unterschiede, was sind die Gemeinsamkeiten von BACnet und OPC bei der Informationsdarstellung auf Leit- und Visualisierungssytemen? Das mit der ISO international standardisierte BACnet- Protokoll wurde speziell für die Gebäudeautomation entwickelt. Es basiert auf Objekten, Services und Übertragungswegen, die im BACnet Standard zusammengefasst sind. Beim praktischen Einsatz ist es an keine spezielle Hardware oder ein Betriebssystem gebunden. Als Übertragungsweg kann man sich für einen oder mehrere der im Standard enthaltenen Wege entscheiden - zum Beispiel BACnet über IP - oder sogar über das PTP (Point to Point Protokoll) Verbindungen per Modem herstellen. Damit unterscheidet sich BACnet von Protokollen, die eine bestehende Verbindung zu anderen Kommunikationspartner voraussetzen, oder aber nicht per Modem (serielle Datenleitung) übertragen werden können. Die Datenübertragung über das PTP ist ein Alleinstellungsmerkmal von BACnet. BACnet kann über die in Objekten gespeicherten Informationen system- und herstellerunabhängig kommunizieren. Sogar Nutzungszeiten sind im BACnet- Protokoll explizit berücksichtigt. Diese Anforderung wird von den meisten Protokollen nicht oder nur über umständliche Hilfslösungen erfüllt. BACnet Dagegen kann Nutzungszeiten und Jahresdatenpunkte wie etwa Feieroder Ferientage übertragen. OPC hat den Ansatz, eine allgemein gültige Schnittstelle zur Visualisierung von Informationen zu schaffen. Diese basiert auf dem Microsoft-Betriebssystem und der darin erhalten DCOM-Architektur für verteilte Kommunikation innerhalb eines Microsoft basierten Netzwerkes. Beliebig viele OPC-Server können Informationen auf beliebig vielen OPC-Clients darstellen. Client und Server sind dabei entweder einem oder auf unterschiedlichen PCs innerhalb eines Netzwerkes lokalisiert. Da eine feste Netzwerkverbindung vorausgesetzt wird, sind OPC-Verbindungen nicht direkt modemfähig. Auf- und Abbau einer Verbindung werden in der OPC-Spezifikation nicht definiert. Deshalb liefern unterschiedliche Systeme wie z. B. Regelsystem und SPS- Anwendungen unterschiedlicher Hersteller jeweils einen OPC- Server, der das herstellerspezifische Format der Datenübertragung gemäß der OPC-Spezifikation abbildet. Je nach Komplexität kann es dann bei der Abbildung zu Informationsverlusten kommen. OPC-Server sind im Prinzip Software-Gateways, die ein herstellerspezifisches Protokoll in die OPC-Spezifikation umsetzen. Dabei muss dieses Protokoll über seine Leitungen an den entsprechenden PC herangeführt werden. Das OPC- Protokoll an sich ist nur im Computernetzwerk übertragbar. Ein OPC-Client setzt die Informationen, welche er gemäß der OP-Spezifikation erhält, wieder in die Strukturen des Visualisierungssystems um. Auch hierbei handelt es sich um ein Software-Gateway. Der Informationsgehalt der OPC-Spezifikation ist allerdings begrenzt. Hat das Visulisierungssystems weitergehende Möglichkeiten kann dies eine Einschränkung bedeuten. Das Übertragen von Nutzungszeiten ist in der OPC-Spezifikation nicht vorgesehen. Einige Anbieter bieten sowohl OPC-Server als auch Clients für BACnet an. Ein OPC-Server läuft parallel mit einem BACnet-Server, wie z.b. einem Regler. Dabei werden die BACnet-Informationen des Gerätes in die OPC-Spezifikation umgesetzt. Je nach Komplexität und Güte des BACnet-Gerätes und des BACnet-OPC-Servers ist dabei entsprechender Projektierungsaufwand notwendig. Da nicht alle Informationen des BACnet-Standards nach OPC umgesetzt werden können sind, zusätzliche Absprachen zwischen OPC-Server und OPC-Client mit entsprechendem Aufwand notwendig. In keinem Fall sind BACnet-Anbindungen in Verbindung mit OPC native BACnet Anbindungen. Das Software-Gateway OPC kann die Funktionalitäten der Kommunikation einschränken. Visualisierungssysteme, die als BACnet-Client arbeiten, können einen OPC-Client parallel schalten. Dieser nimmt die Informationen von beliebigen OPC- Servern entgegen und stellt diese dem BACnet Client zur Verfügung, Er verhält sich gegenüber dem BACnet-Client wie ein BACnet-Server. OPC und BACnet werden weiterentwickelt, z. B. in Richtung eines OPC-Standards über XML, der unabhängig vom Betriebssystem ist. Auch Funktionserweiterungen für spezielle Anwendungen wie Nutzungszeitübertragung werden diskutiert. Entsprechende Erweiterungen der Spezifikation sind in Zukunft zu erwarten. BACnet ist eine spezielle Lösung für die Gebäudeautomation, OPC muss an diese konkrete Anwendung angepasst werden. BACnet und OPC können separat oder auch gemeinsam in Projekten eingesetzt werden. Where do the differences lie, and what do BACnet and OPC have in common with information representation on management and visualisation systems? The BACnet protocol was developed particularly for building automation and conforms to the international standard ISO It is based on objects, services and transmission paths, which are summarized in the BACnet standard. It is not tied to any special hardware or operating system. As a transmission path one can choose several of the paths contained in the standard - for example BACnet over IP - or even PTP (Point to Point protocol) connections by modem. Thus BACnet differs from protocols, which assume an existing connection to other communication partners exists, or which cannot be transmitted by modem (serial data line). Data communication over PTP is the unique characteristic of BACnet. BACnet can communicate the information stored in objects independently of the producer and the system. Even utilization periods are explicitly considered in the BACnet protocol. This requirement is not fulfilled by most protocols, or is only possible via complex auxiliary solutions. BACnet however can transfer utilization periods and yearly data points such as holiday periods. OPC has the rudiments to create a generally valid interface for the visualization of information. This is based on the Microsoft operating system and the therein contained DCOM architecture for distributed communication within a Microsoft based network. As many OPC servers as desired can represent information on as many OPC clients as is required. Client and servers are located thereby either one or on different PC s within a network. Since a fixed network connection is presupposed, OPC connections cannot directly connect by modem. 19

20 BACnet insight The establishment and disconnecting of a connection are not defined in the OPC specification. Therefore different systems supply an OPC server in each case e.g. the monitoring system and SPS applications of different manufacturers, which illustrates the manufacturer-specific format of the data communication in accordance with the OPC specification. Losses of information can occur during the mapping of information depending upon complexity. OPC servers are in principle software gateways, which convert a manufacturerspecific protocol into the OPC specification. This protocol must be advanced over its lines to the appropriate PC. The OPC protocol is actually transferable only within the computer network. An OPC Client reformats the information, which it receives into the structure of the visualization system in accordance with the OP specification. A software gateway is also required here. The information content of the OPC specification is limited however. If the visualisation system has further possibilities this can lead to limitations. The transmission of utilization periods is not intended in the OPC specification. In order to transmit utilization periods, special arrangements between server and client are necessary. The OPC standard is extended quasi individually by free application programming. Some providers offer both OPC servers and clients for BACnet. An OPC server runs in parallel with a BACnet server, e.g. an automatic controller. The BACnet information of the equipment is converted into the OPC specification. Appropriate planning effort is necessary, depending upon the complexity and quality of the BACnet equipment and the BACnet OPC server. Since all information of the BACnet standard cannot be converted to OPC, additional arrangements between OPC servers and OPC Client is necessary with the associated expense. In no case are BACnet connections native BACnet connections in relation to OPC. The OPC software gateway can limit the functionalities of communication. Visualization systems, which work as a BACnet client, can switch an OPC client in parallel. These receive the information from arbitrary OPC servers and make it available to the BACnet client. It therefore behaves like a BACnet server in relation to the BACnet client. OPC and BACnet are being further developed, e.g. toward an OPC standard over XML, which is independent of the operating system. Also function extensions for special applications such as utilization period transmission are being discussed. Appropriate extensions of the specification are to be expected in the future. BACnet is a special solution for building automation,and OPC must be adapted to this concrete application. BACnet and OPC can be used separately or also together in projects.
