Das Untersuchungsziel bezieht sich auf das ungetragene Textil im Neuzustand. Determination of the Ultraviolet Factor (UPF) of textile fabrics according to AS/NZS 4399:1996. The aim of the analysis is referring to the unworn textile in the new condition. METHODE / METHODS BESTIMMUNG DES UPF DES TEXTILMATERIALS IM UNGEDEHNTEN NEUZUSTAND Die Bestimmung des UPF erfolgt nach der australisch/neuseeländischen Norm AS/NZS 4399:1996. Der UPF erlaubt eine Bewertung des UV- Schutzes von Textilien unter Berücksichtigung der spektralen Zusammensetzung des Sonnenlichtes und der Hautempfindlichkeit des Menschen. Je nach Größe des UPF werden die UV-Schutzeigenschaften des gemessenen Textils mit gut, sehr gut oder ausgezeichnet gekennzeichnet. Der UPF beschreibt die Verhältnisse im ungedehnten Neuzustand. DETERMINATION OF THE UPF OF THE TEXTILE FABRIC IN THE UNSTRETCHED NEW CONDITION The determination of the UPF is carried out according to the Australia / New Zealand Standard AS/NZS 4399:1996. The UPF allows for an assessment of the UV protection offered by textiles under consideration of the spectral composition of the sunlight and the skin sensitivity of human beings. The UV-protective properties of the measured fabric are indicated with good, very good or excellent in accordance with the resultant UPF value.the UPF describes the conditions in the unstretched new state.

The UPF of the textile material is calculated from the mean value of the UPF in consideration of the standard deviation and the confidence level (99 % statistical certainty, lower limit). This report must only be reproduced in full and not in extract form. Use of the report in advertising or the publication of free interpretations of the results is only allowed with the express permission of the Hohenstein Institute. Only the signed original report is legally binding. Documents and materials delivered by the client, especially test samples, will be retained by us for 3 months, provided their condition allows it. For Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), which is regulated by law, a retention period of 10 years is applicable (also refer to our terms of business, item VI.2).
