5 Vorwort Vorwort Die vorliegende Arbeit entstand in den Jahren 2007 bis 2011 während meiner Tätigkeit als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Institut für Systemdynamik der Universität Stuttgart. Sie wurde vom Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung finanziell unterstützt. Mein besonderer Dank gilt Herr Prof. Dr.-Ing. Sawodny für die Betreuung der Arbeit. Er hat mir die Möglichkeit gegeben, mich als Biologin in ein ingenieurwissenschaftliches Fachgebiet einzuarbeiten und die Durchführung meiner Promotion in allen Phasen unterstützt. Desweiteren bedanke ich mich bei Frau Prof. Dr. Merfort dafür, dass sie freundlicherweise den Mitbericht übernommen hat.
