12 700 DEN Cordura LIGHTWEIGHT DURABILITY CORDURA 700 Recognising military operational requirements for lighter personal load carriage equipment, the CORDURA development engineers have worked very closely with weaving and finishing partners to produce a lightweight range of CORDURA based fabrics specifically to meet the very latest military personal load carriage requirements. These innovative fabrics have only become possible with the development of CORDURA 700; 700-decitex high-tenacity Nylon 6.6 textured yarn engineered with physics that have pushed the performance envelope beyond current parameters. CORDURA 700: EXCELLENT STRENGTH-TO-WEIGHT RATIO Compared with 1100 decitex-based coated fabrics, the CORDURA 700 fabric options can achieve weight reductions in the region of 18 20%, however there is only a very small loss in tensile strength. CORDURA 700: FABRIC ENGINEERING TO MEET MILITARY OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS There are many performance solutions available to the load carriage designer. Depending on the balance of requirements weight, abrasion resistance, tear strength, water resistance a fabric can be innovatively engineered to meet the designer s precise requirements for a specific application. This can be achieved through selecting the optimum balance in terms of weave construction, the finishing processes and the coating processes employed. MUlticam The original Multicam used by us was developed by the American company Crye Precision in cooperation with the U.S. Army Natick Soldier Research Center. Under the most varied of conditions and irrespective of light exposure or actual terrain the Multicam camouflage pattern is merely perceived as background by the human eye. This ensures that the contours of the wearer optimally blend in even under infrared conditions. The Multicam pattern is currently being used by special forces throughout the world and is becoming increasingly popular.
