Luminale Places of Interest Historie und Anlage History and site OCCUPIERT Die Südseite des Willy-Brandt-Platzes in der Innenstadt wird vollständig von der 120 Meter langen Glasfassade des Frankfurter Schauspielhauses gebildet. Unter der Decke des Foyers hängt, auch von außen gut sichtbar, die Plastik Goldwolken des ungarischen Künstlers Zoltán Kemény. Die Nordseite öffnet sich hin zu den alten Wallanlagen und gibt die Sicht auf das Frankfurter Bankenviertel frei. Hier ist heute der Sitz der Europäischen Bankenaufsicht. Seitlich davor befindet sich die leuchtende, kontrovers diskutierte Euro-Skulptur des Künstlers Ottmar Hörl. Der Platz wurde 2005 neu gestaltet, ist seitdem barrierefrei und bekam ein eigenes Lichtkonzept. 2010 war die Parkanlage vor dem Schauspielhaus für zehn Monate von der Protestbewegung Occupy besetzt. The south side of Willi Brandt Platz (Square) in the city centre is completely framed by the 120 metre-long glass facade of the Frankfurter Schauspielhaus (Frankfurt Playhouse or Theatre). Under the ceiling of the foyer, also clearly visible from outside, hangs the sculpture Golden Clouds by Hungarian artist Zoltán Kemény. The north side opens onto the old ramparts giving a clear view of Frankfurt s Financial District, which is, today, the seat of the European Banking Regulator (CEBS). In front and slightly to the side is one of two examples of the Euro sculpture by artist Ottmar Hörl. The square was redesigned in 2005, and since then is barrier free with its own lighting concept. In 2010, it was occupied for 10 months by the Occupy Movement. 1
