1 Luminale Places of Interest Historie und Anlage History and site GESTRECKT Die ist eine Grünanlage am Frankfurter Bankenviertel. Der Stadtgärtner und Gartenkünstler Sebastian Rinz plante diesen Teil der Wallanlagen besonders prächtig. Die Anlage erstreckt sich auf dem Gebiet der ehemaligen Stadtbefestigungsanlagen und reicht vom Taunustor, zerschnitten von der Junghofstraße, bis hin zur Alten Oper. Sie gehört mit ca. 42 Hektar Fläche zu den größten Wallanlagen Frankfurts. Hügelige Wiesen mit altem Baumbestand, Treppen, Bänke und Reste alter Wallmauern stehen im Kontrast zu den an ihrer Westseite aufgereihten Hochhäusern: Japan Center, Skyper, 11 und die Zwillingstürme der Deutschen Bank. In der Grünanlage befinden sich Denkmäler und Skulpturen, darunter das Beethoven- und das Heine-Denkmal von Georg Kolbe, das Schiller-Denkmal nach einem Entwurf von Johannes Dielmann, der Winzerbrunnen von Johann Nepomuk Zwerger, der Marshall-Brunnen von Toni Stadler, die Frauenstatue Flora von Paul Seiler, die Große Diagonale von Michael Siebel und die Betonskulptur Ein Haus für Goethe des baskischen Bildhauers Eduardo Chillida. The is a park area located in Frankfurt s Financial District. The city-gardener and garden artist Sebastian Rinz planted this part of the ramparts magnificently. The green belt covers the area of the city s former fortifications and stretches from the Taunustor (Taunus Gate) to the Alte Oper, (Old Opera) dissected by the Junghofstrasee. With an area of 42 hectares, it is one of Frankfurt s largest parks. Hilly meadows with an old stock of trees, steps, benches and the remains of the old ramparts present a stark contrast to the skyscraper line-up on its western side: Japan Centre, Skyper, 11 and the twin towers of the Deutsche Bank. Scattered throughout the park are monuments and statues, among them the Beethoven and the Heine memorials by Georg Kolbe, the Schiller memorial, based on a design by Johannes Dielmann, the Winzerbrunnen (Vintner Fountain) by Johann Nepomuk Zwerger, the Marshall Fountain by Toni Stadler, the sculpture of a woman Flora by Paul Seiler, the Große Diagonale (Great Diagonal) by Michael Siebel and the concrete A House for Goethe by the Basque sculptor Eduardo Chillida. 1
