1 PRESS RELEASE PEGAS: Powernext to launch Futures contract on PEG Sud Paris, Leipzig, 11 September 2013 Powernext announces the launch of a Front Month contract on the GRTgaz Sud delivery zone as of 1 October at the request of its members. This new product will be listed on PEGAS, the common natural gas platform launched by Powernext and EEX. PEG Sud spot contracts have been traded on Powernext Gas Spot since 26 November The quick development of the liquidity has enabled the publication of the Powernext Gas Spot DAP index as of 1 April 2009, widely used within the industry. In May 2011, Powernext Gas Spot was the first organised market in Europe to offer location spread products corresponding to the actors trading practices. These products have allowed GRTgaz to commercialise daily North-South capacities directly on the market, thus increasing PEG Sud s liquidity significantly. The PEG Sud delivery zone, which supply strongly depends on LNG imports and which connection from PEG Nord is regularly congested, suffers from a volatility comparatively stronger than on PEG Nord. The actors are confronted with real hedging needs, and call for more visibility on futures prices, comments Jean-François Conil- Lacoste, Powernext s CEO. To answer these needs, starting on 1 st October, Powernext Gas will propose the first monthly contract maturity for trading with delivery on PEG Sud, as well as the related PEG Sud/PEG Nord spread product. This launch will enable, for the first time, the trading of Futures contracts on PEG Sud through an anonymous, cleared and regulated organised market thus contributing to the development of the liquidity and transparency of this crucial zone for the French market. To facilitate the development of the contract, Powernext will rely particularly on two liquidity providers among its active members.

2 GDF SUEZ, through its subsidiary GDF SUEZ Trading, supports this initiative and will actively participate in the development of this new product. This contract will offer market participants a new portfolio optimisation tool for this delivery zone and will allow a more efficient use of transmission capacities between PEG Nord and PEG Sud, thus benefitting all parties, comments Stéphane Brimont, Executive Vice-President Energy Management Trading, GDF SUEZ. Total and its subsidiary Total Gas & Power Ltd support the Powernext initiative to list location spread products. It enhances gas trading on all PEGs. The launch of this new contract is welcome, adds Jean-Pierre Mateille, Vice-President Trading, Total Gas & Power. The French Energy Regulatory Commission ( Commission de Régulation de l Energie ) welcomes very favourably this initiative which is likely to improve liquidity on PEG Sud. In the context of the PEGAS cooperation, the entire range of Powernext and EEX s gas products is now available for trading on the same platform. This new contract will also be available on the PEGAS screen to the 36 members of Powernext Gas Futures, active on PEG Sud. Additionally, on the same day, quality-specific products for the German gas market areas to be introduced by EEX will be available for trading on PEGAS, as previously announced.

4 COMMUNIQUE DE PRESSE PEGAS : Powernext lance un contrat à terme au PEG Sud Paris, Leipzig, le 11 septembre 2013 En réponse à la demande de ses membres, Powernext annonce le lancement au 1 er octobre d un contrat «Front Month» sur la zone de livraison française GRTgaz Sud. Ce produit sera listé sur PEGAS, la plateforme de négociation lancée en commun par Powernext et EEX. Des contrats Spot sont négociés au PEG Sud sur le marché organisé Powernext Gas Spot depuis le 26 novembre Le rapide développement de la liquidité a permis la publication de l indice Powernext Gas Spot DAP dès le 1 er avril 2009, largement utilisé par l industrie depuis. En mai 2011, Powernext Gas Spot a été le premier marché organisé en Europe à proposer des produits spread géographiques correspondant à la pratique de négociation des acteurs. Ces produits ont permis à GRTgaz de commercialiser des capacités Nord-Sud journalières directement dans le marché, développant encore la liquidité de la zone Sud. «La zone Sud, dont l approvisionnement est fortement dépendant des importations de GNL, et dont l alimentation par la zone Nord est régulièrement congestionnée, souffre d une volatilité comparativement beaucoup plus forte qu au PEG Nord. Les acteurs sont confrontés à de réels besoins de couverture, et appellent à plus de visibilité sur les prix à terme» commente Jean-François Conil-Lacoste, Directeur Général de Powernext. En réponse à ce besoin, Powernext Gas offrira à la négociation à compter du 1 er octobre la première maturité du contrat mois portant livraison au PEG Sud, ainsi que le spread associé avec le PEG Nord. Ce lancement permettra pour la première fois que des contrats à terme sur la zone PEG Sud soient négociés sur un marché organisé anonyme, compensé, et surveillé, contribuant ainsi à développer la liquidité et la transparence sur cette zone clé du marché français. Pour faciliter le développement de ce contrat, Powernext s appuie en particulier sur deux fournisseurs de liquidité partis ses membres actifs.

5 «GDF SUEZ, via sa filiale GDF SUEZ Trading, soutient cette initiative et participera activement au développement de ce nouveau produit. Dans le cadre de la coopération PEGAS, l ensemble des produits gaz de Powernext et d EEX sont aujourd hui disponibles à la négociation sur une même plateforme technique. Ce nouveau contrat sera donc également listé sur l écran PEGAS, et accessible, dès son lancement, aux 36 membres de Powernext Gas Futures qui sont actifs au PEG Sud. À partir du 1 er octobre 2013 également, de nouveaux produits gaz d EEX à haut et bas pouvoirs calorifiques sur les zones de livraison allemandes seront disponibles à la négociation sur PEGAS, comme annoncé précédemment.

7 PRESSEMITTEILUNG PEGAS: Powernext führt Futures-Kontrakt für PEG Süd- Handelspunkt ein Paris, Leipzig, 11. September 2013 Die Powernext freut sich, ab dem 1. Oktober 2013 einen Frontmonatskontrakt für das von GRTgaz betriebene Marktgebiet PEG Süd anzubieten, welcher den Anforderungen ihrer Marktteilnehmer entspricht. Das neue Produkt wird auf PEGAS, der gemeinsamen Plattform von Powernext und EEX für den Gasmarkt, handelbar sein. Bereits seit dem 26. November 2008 bietet die Powernext Spotkontrakte für das Marktgebiet PEG Süd an. Die schnelle Entwicklung der Liquidität in diesem Markt ermöglichte den Start des Powernext Gas Spot DAP Index, der ab dem 1. April 2009 veröffentlicht wurde und in der Branche weithin eingesetzt wird. Im Mai 2011 war der Powernext Spotmarkt für Erdgas der erste organisierte Markt in Europa, der Location- Spread-Produkte im Einklang mit der Handelspraxis der Marktakteure anbot. Diese Produkte ermöglichten dem Marktgebietsbetreiber GRTGaz die direkte Vermarktung täglicher Nord-Süd-Kapazitäten im Markt und haben die Liquidität am PEG Süd Handelspunkt erheblich gesteigert. Das PEG Süd Liefergebiet, dessen Angebot stark von LNG-Importen abhängig ist und dessen Anbindung von PEG Nord aus regelmäßig Engpässe aufweist, unterliegt einer vergleichsweise stärkeren Volatilität als PEG Nord-Gebiet. Die Akteure werden mit tatsächlichen Hedging-Bedürfnissen konfrontiert und fordern daher eine höhere Sichtbarkeit von Futures-Preisen für den PEG Süd, erklärt Jean-François Conil- Lacoste, CEO der Powernext. Zur Erfüllung dieses Bedarfs wird die Powernext ab dem 1. Oktober die erste monatliche Kontraktfälligkeit für den Handel mit Lieferung im PEG Süd-Gebiet sowie das entsprechende PEG Süd/PEG Nord Spread-Produkt einführen. Damit werden für das Marktgebiet PEG Süd erstmals Futures in einem anonymen, geclearten sowie organisierten Marktumfeld verfügbar sein, was einen weiteren Beitrag zur Entwicklung der Liquidität und Transparenz dieser entscheidenden Zone für den französischen Markt leistet.

8 Um die Entwicklung des Kontraktes zu unterstützen, hat Powernext aus dem Kreis ihrer Handelsteilnehmer zwei Liquiditätsgeber gewinnen können. GDF SUEZ unterstützt diese Initiative über das Tochterunternehmen GDF SUEZ Trading und wird sich aktiv an der Entwicklung dieses neuen Produktes beteiligen. Dieser Kontrakt bietet den Marktteilnehmern ein neues Instrument zur Portfoliooptimierung für dieses Liefergebiet und ermöglicht somit den effizienteren Einsatz der Übertragungskapazitäten zwischen den Handelspunkten PEG Nord und PEG Süd, erklärt Stéphane Brimont, Executive Vice-President Energy Management Trading, GDF SUEZ. Total und sein Tochterunternehmen, Total Gas & Power Ltd, unterstützen die Powernext Initiative zur Einführung von Location-Spread-Produkten, mit denen der Gashandel an allen PEGs verbessert wird. Die französische Energieregulierungskommission ( Commission de Régulation de l Energie ) begrüßt ebenfalls diese Initiative, die dazu beitragen wird, die Liquidität im Marktgebiet PEG Süd weiter zu steigern. Nunmehr steht im Rahmen der PEGAS-Kooperation die gesamte Palette an Powernext und EEX-Gasprodukten zum Handel auf der gleichen Plattform zur Verfügung. Der neue Futureskontrakt wird auf dem PEGAS-Handelsschirm für alle 36 Powernext- Teilnehmer verfügbar sein, die im Marktgebiet PEG Süd aktiv sind. Ab dem 1. Oktober 2013 werden auf PEGAS auch die neu durch die EEX angebotenen qualitätsspezifischen Gasprodukte handelbar sein.
