4 Bedienungsanleitung und Arbeitsweise Dieses Mikroskop ist ein Präzisionsinstrument, das sorgfältige Behandlung verlangt. 1) Tragen Sie das Mikroskop am Stativarm (4), nie an beweglichen Teilen wie Tubus (3), Triebknöpfen (11) und (12) oder Tisch (8). 2) Wählen Sie zum Mikroskopieren einen Arbeitstisch, der so hoch sein sollte, dass Sie bequem daran sitzen und in das Instrument hineinschauen können. Das Mikroskop selbst muss einen festen und ruhigen Stand haben. Vermeiden Sie direkte Sonneneinstrahlung auf das Präparat. 3) Beginnen Sie beim Mikroskopieren mit der geringsten Vergrößerung. Wählen Sie dazu das schwächste Objektiv 4x (6). 4) Legen Sie das Präparat auf den Mikroskoptisch und klemmen Sie es mit den beiden Tischfedern (7) fest. Das zu betrachtende Objekt muss in der Mitte der Tischbohrung liegen, das Deckglas des Präparates muss immer dem Objektiv zugekehrt sein. 5) Die Beleuchtung des Präparates: Es wird die im Beleuchtungssockel (1) integrierte Halogenlampe 230 V/ 12 V/ 10 W durch den Kippschalter (14) eingeschaltet. Das Objektfeld wird durch die im Beleuchtungssockel integrierte Blauglas-Kollektorlinse zur Erhöhung der Farbtemperatur gleichmäßig ausgeleuchtet. 6) Die Scharfstellung erfolgt über Grob- (11) und Feintrieb (12). 7) Optische Daten: Mittels der serienmäßigen Bestückung von Objektiven und Okular lassen sich folgende Vergrößerungen erzielen: Operating instructions and method of working This microscope is a precision instrument requiring careful handling. 1) Always carry the microscope by the stand arm (4) and never by moveable parts such as the tube (3), adjustment knobs (11) and (12) or stage (8). 2) Select a workbench, which should be so high for microscoping that you can sit comfortably to it and look into the instrument. The microscope itself must be placed on a firm and slid surface. Avoid direct sun exposure on the preparation. 3) Start viewing at the lowest magnification using the weakest objective 4x (6). 4) Place the specimen on the stage and secure it with the two stage clips (7). The object to be viewed should be in the middle of the hole in the stage and the cover glass must always be nearest to the objective, i.e., on top of the specimen. 5) Illumination of the specimen: The halogen lamp 230 V/ 12V/ 10 W integrated in the lamp house (10) is switched on with the switch (14). The specimen fields is illuminated evenly with a blue glass collector lens integrated into the lamp house for increasing the colour temperature. 6) The coarse (11) and fine (12) adjustment knobs are used for focussing. 7) Optical data: With the factory fitted objectives and eyepiece the following magnifications can be obtained: 4

Das Gesichtsfeld wird um so kleiner und die Tiefenschärfe um so geringer, je höher die Vergrößerung ist. Eine hohe Gesamtvergrößerung ist nur mit Einschränkung entscheidend für das Erkennen mikroskopischer Strukturen und bestimmt daher nicht allein den Wert des Mikroskopes. Vielmehr kommt es auf das Auflösungsvermögen (Numerische Apertur = N. A.) des Objektives an. Die mikroskopischen Strukturen, die das Objektiv nicht heranbringt, also nicht auflöst, kann das Okular nicht vergrößern. Die Reinigung der Okularlinsen (nur außen) kann mit Spiritus durchgeführt werden. Zusätzlich ist die Reinigung mit einem Luftpinsel zu empfehlen. Die Objektive sind auf Umschlag abgestimmt, d.h. die Objektivlängen sind so bemessen, dass die unterschiedlichen Brennweiten der Objektive ausgeglichen sind. Sie können also die Vergrößerungen wechseln und brauchen das Bild nur noch mit dem Feintrieb zu korrigieren. Objectives ELEMENTAR PLUS Image- Numerical Eyepiece scale aperture DIN WF 10x 4:1 0, :1 0, :1 0, The total magnification of a microscope is calculated by multiplying the objective magnification by the eyepiece magnification. The higher the magnification the smaller the field of view and the less the focussing in depth. High total magnification is only essential for the recognition of microscopic structures under certain limited circumstances and is not on its own the decisive factor in determining the quality of a microscope. A far more important consideration is the resolution (numerical aperture = N.A.) of the objective. Microscopic structures which the objective cannot identify or resolve cannot be enlarged by the eyepiece. The eyepiece lenses can be cleaned (externally) with alcohol compound and additional dusting with an air brush is recommended, too. The lengths of the objectives are calculated in such a way that the various different focal lengths of the objectives are compensated, i. e., when changing magnifications the image can be refocussed with the fine adjustment alone. 5

6 8) Zur Erzielung eines kontrastreicheren Bildes können Sie sich folgender Hilfen bedienen: a) Verstellung der Irisblende des Hellfeldkondensors (9), um die Beleuchtungs- an die Objektivapertur anzupassen. b) Einschieben von Filtern in den Beleuchtungsstrahlengang (Filterhalter und dem Kondensor). 9) Auswechseln der Glühlampe: Achtung: Vor Lampenwechsel Stecker Trafo ziehen! Rändelschraube der Klappe auf Bodenplatte (Fußunterseite) lösen und Glühlampe abziehen (Vorsicht falls heiß!). Neue Glühlampe aufstecken dabei nicht mit bloßen Fingern anfassen! Unscrew holding screw of lid on bottom plate (beneath base) and remove bulb (careful if still hot!). Insert new bulb don`t touch with bare fingers! Replacement halogen bulb 12 V/ 10 W: Art.no.: ) Safety marks: Mikrometer Okular WF 10x mit 1/100-Teilung Zur mikroskopischen Partikelzählung muss das Mikrometer Okular WF 10x auf das Tubusrohr (2) aufgesteckt werden. Dazu muss zuerst das Normalokular (1) entnommen werden. Mit dem eingebauten Maßstab mit 1/100er Teilung können je nach zugeschaltetem Objektiv unterschiedliche Messskalen realisiert werden. Die Kreuztischarmatur kann nach dem Entfernen der Tischfedern (8) auf dem Mikroskoptisch (7) mit der an dem Kreuztisch befestigten Rändelschraube (A) und den beiden, auf der Kreuztischunterseite befestigten Arretierstiften (B) montiert werden. Zur Aufnahme der Rändelschraube dient das in der Tischoberseite (9) vorhandene Gewinde der rechten Tischfeder (8). Die Kreuztischarmatur ist ein Präzisionsinstrument, das sorgfältige Behandlung verlangt! Operation instructions cross table instrument Cross table instrument The microscope needs an additional cross table instrument in order to make the examination of certain areas of slide preparations and the determination of the dimensions of this area possible. This is essential for microscopic particle counting. The cross table instrument can be installed on the microscope`s table (7). The clamps (8) have to be removed. Using the knurled screw (A) attached to the cross table and both lock pins (B) on the bottom of the cross table the installation can be performed. The knurled screw fits in the available thread on right side (8), prior occupied by the right clamp, on the microscope`s table (9). The cross table instrument is an instrument of extreme accuracy and precision. Handle with care! 7
