3 1 Introduction QuantumX BPX001 Backplane The QuantumX BPX001 backplane can accommodate up to 9 modules and has been designed for wall or control cabinet mounting. 2 Connecting and mounting All IP20 modules, e.g. MX840, MX1609, etc. can be inserted into the backplane once the module s X frame has been disassembled. The modules can be positioned anywhere in the backplane in any sequence. The CX22( W) data recorder cannot be inserted into the backplane. Two Fire Wire sockets enable connection of a PC (via KAB270 x), further modules, hubs or backplanes (via KAB269 x). The CX27 gateway module permits connection via Ethernet or EtherCAT. The system as a whole requires external voltage supply. The backplane is protected with a total of four fuses. LEDs show the status of the fuses. IMPORTANT Only use countersunk head bolts for fastening, otherwise the modules cannot be mounted correctly. Note the following information when installing one or more backplanes in a control cabinet: S When installing in a control cabinet, the temperature limits given in the technical data of the backplanes must be complied with. S Depending on the installation situation, sufficient ventilation (vertical air flow) or cooling must be provided (the maximum total output on a backplane is approx. 150 Watt). 5 1 Einleitung QuantumX Modulträger BPX001 Der QuantumX-Modulträger BPX001 kann bis zu 9 Module aufnehmen und ist für die Wand- oder Schaltschrankmontage konzipiert. 2 Anschluss und Montage Alle Module in IP20 wie z.b. MX840, MX1609, u.a. können in den Modulträger gesteckt werden, sobald der X Rahmen des Moduls entsprechend demontiert wurde. Die Anordnung oder Reihenfolge der Module im Modulträger ist beliebig. Der Datenrekorder CX22( W) kann nicht in den Modulträger gesteckt werden. Zwei FireWire Buchsen ermöglichen den Anschluss eines PCs (über KAB270 x), weiterer Module, Hubs oder Modulträger (über KAB269 x). Die Anbindung über Ethernet oder EtherCAT erfolgt über das Gateway Modul CX27. Die Versorgungsspannung des Gesamtsystems ist von Extern zuzuführen. Der Modulträger ist mit insgesamt vier Sicherungen geschützt. LEDs zeigen den Status der Sicherungen an. 1.1 Wandmontage des Trägers WICHTIG Verwenden Sie für die Befestigung nur Senkkopf-Schrauben, da sonst die Module nicht korrekt montiert werden können. Beachten Sie beim Einbau eines oder meherrer Modulträger in einen Schaltschrank folgende Hinweise: S Beim Einbau in einen Schaltschrank sind die in den technischen Daten des Modulträgers angegebenen Temperaturgrenzen einzuhalten. S Je nach Einbausituation ist für ausreichende Lüftung (Luftstrom vertikal) bzw. Kühlung zu sorgen (die maximale Gesamtleistung auf einem Modulträger beträgt ca. 150 Watt). S Die Lüftungsschlitze der Module dürfen nicht abgedeckt werden (z. 7 External temperature compensation for universal amplifiers (Order no. 1 THERMO MXBOARD) 1 Introduction This electronics is a small princted circuit board for external temperature compensation during measurements using thermocouples on MX840 / MX840A or MX440A. The board consists basically of a PT1000 cold junction and a 1 wire chip for automatic transducer identification. Position of the board in the connector PT Solder pins 2 Mounting instructions It is essential that the thermo wires metal junction is located as close as possible to the cold junction for temperature compensation. This is ensured by making a solder joint directly next to the PT1000 on the electronics integrated in the D Sub HD plug (1 THERMO MXBOARD). The universal amplifiers support a wide range of different thermocouples. The thermo wires are soldered on to ensure high accuracy. Using a threaded copper connection would result in additional thermocouples formed by the contact of different metals. Careful preparation is required when soldering thermocouples (e.g. type K, NiCr and NiAl). QuantumX HBM
8 Recommendations for mounting: Insulate the wire at the level of the strain relief, e.g. using heat shrink tubing. 1. Soldering the wire in: Use RoHS compliant, lead-free soft solder that is suitable for thermocouples Use sandpaper to remove dirt from wire and coat it with solder Insert wire into solder joint, heat up soldering iron (recommended temperature) and apply solder 2. Inserting and soldering wire into wire end ferrule: Cut off 1 mm of wire end ferrule and crimp on thermo wire Insert wire end ferrules into through holes Insert thermo wires Solder wire end ferrule in through hole. 9 Externe Temperaturkompensation für Universalmessverstärker (Bestell-Nr. 1 THERMO MXBOARD) 1 Einleitung Bei dieser Elektronik handelt es sich um eine kleine Platine, die der externen Temperaturkompensation für Messungen mit Thermoelementen an MX840 / MX840A oder MX440A dient. Die Platine besteht im Wesentlichen aus einer PT1000 Vergleichsmessstelle sowie eines 1 Wire TEDS Chips zur automatischen Aufnehmererkennung. Position der Platine im Stecker PT zu verlötende PINs 2 Montagehinweise Die Thermodrähtchen müssen ihren metallischen Übergang so nah als möglich an der Vergleichsmessstelle zur Temperaturkompensation haben. Das ist mit einer Lötstelle direkt neben dem PT1000 auf der im D-Sub-HD-Stecker integrierten Elektronik sichergestellt (1 THERMO MXBoard). Die Universalmessverstärker unterstützen eine ganze Bandbreite unterschiedlicher Thermoelemente. Um eine hohe Genauigkeit zu erreichen, werden die Thermodrähtchen angelötet. Durch eine Schraubverbindung aus Kupfer würden weitere Thermoelemente durch unterschiedliche Metall-Kontaktierungen entstehen. Das Einlöten von Thermoelementen (z.b. Typ K, NiCr und NiAl) muss vorbereitet werden. QuantumX HBM
10 Empfehlung für die Montage: Isolieren Sie den Draht auf Höhe der Zugentlastung, z.b. mit einem Schrumpfschlauch. 1. Draht einlöten: Verwenden Sie ein für Thermoelemente geeignetes, bleifreies, RoHs-konformes Weichlot Drähtchen mit Schmirgelpapier reinigen und mit dem Lot überziehen Drähtchen in die Lötstellen einstecken, mit dem Lötkolben (mit empfohlener Temperatur) kurz aufheizen und Lot einfließen lassen 2. Draht in Aderendhülse stecken und einlöten: von der Aderendhülse 1mm abschneiden und auf das Thermodrähtchen quetschen Aderendhülse in die Durchkontaktierungen stecken Thermodrähtchen einstecken verlöten der Aderendhülse in der Durchkontaktierung. 11 FireWire 1394b PC-CARD (Order No. 1 IF 001) FireWire 1394b ExpressCard/34 (Order No. 1 IF 002) 1 Introduction The PC-CARD / ExpressCard/34 from the company Allied Vision Technologies is an adapter for connecting QuantumX modules to a notebook via FireWire 1394b. 2 Requirements The adapter is supported by the operating systems Windows ME, 2000, 2003, XP (min. Service Pack 2), Vista and Windows 7. The HBM FireWire driver can be found on the QuantumX System CD or on the Internet ( under Data acquisition systems ). on installing the driver can be found in the corresponding documentation. 3 Installation The adapter can be connected during operation to the notebook. It needs an appropriate free slot in order to operate the interface. 1. Plug the 9-pin FireWire cable KAB270 3 into one of the adapter sockets and tighten the knurled screws of the plug. 2. Install the FireWire driver from the QuantumX System CD and replace the driver provided by Microsoft. 3. Plug the adapter (with colored sticker facing upwards) into the free slot of your notebook. 4. The Hardware Assistant window will appear. Register the QuantumX module in the operating system by referring to the previously installed driver (hbm1394.inf). 5. 12 NOTES The notebook does not provide any supply voltage via the FireWire connection cable. The QuantumX modules must be powered separately (e. g. power pack NTX001). You can connect up to 12 modules in series (daisy chain) to the adapter (see operating manual QuantumX). A termination is not necessary. The adapter has two interfaces with FireWire 1394b. QuantumX can only be connected via one of these interfaces. 4 Removing the adapter safely As soon as the adapter is inserted in the notebook, an icon with a green arrow appears in the notification box (Systray). Click on this icon and then activate Remove safely. Hinweise zur Installation des Treibers finden Sie in der entsprechenden Dokumentation. 3 Installation Der Adapter kann im laufenden Betrieb des Notebooks eingesteckt werden. Sie benötigen einen entsprechend freien Slot, um die Schnittstelle in Betrieb zu nehmen. 1. Stecken Sie das 9polige FireWire-Kabel KAB270 3 in eine der Buchsen des Adapters ein und ziehen Sie die Rändelschrauben des Steckers fest. 2. 14 HINWEISE Das Notebook liefert keine Versorgungsspannung über das FireWire-Verbindungskabel. Die QuantumX-Module müssen separat versorgt werden (z. B. Netzteil NTX001). Sie können bis zu 12 Module in Reihe (engl. daisy chain ) an den Adapter anschließen (siehe Bedienungsanleitung QuantumX). Eine Terminierung ist nicht erforderlich. Der Adapter hat zwei Schnittstellen mit FireWire 1394b. QuantumX kann nur über eine dieser Schnittstellen angebunden werden. 4 Adapter sicher entfernen Sobald Sie den Adapter in das Notebook eingeschoben haben, erscheint ein Icon mit einem grünen Pfeil im Benachrichtigungsfeld (Systray). Klicken Sie auf dieses Icon und aktivieren Sie Sicher entfernen.
