7 What have been the strengths of this approach? 12 What other measures in addition to certification are required by the supply chain to support social development? 13 Polyculture instead of Monoculture Polyculture is generating additional income for the farmer. Sales to the local market increases the independence from international market fluctuations and the protein supply to the local population. Polyculture also has a positive impact on biodiversity.
