1 User Information / Benutzerinformation KOS Unpacking / Auspacken Warning: Touching the soldered joints or the connectors on the rear may destroy the CMOS elements of the module. Before inserting the module remove touch cover. Warnung: Das Berühre der rückwärtigen Kontakte und Lötstellen kann zur Zerstörung der CMOS- Elemente auf der Baugruppe führen. Vor dem Stecken Schutzfolie entfernen. Remove the module out of its shipping box and check for physical damage. If damage is found, please contact Your distributor to verify warranty claims. Baugruppe aus der Verpackung nehmen und auf Beschädigung kontrollieren. Bei Beschädigung bitte Lieferanten verständigen zur Klärung der Gewährleistungsansprüche. Note KOS 140 cannot be operated without firmware. Each user replaces the 2 empty EPROMs by a programmed FW-EPROM and a programmed Parameter-EPROM. They may be changed only in a dead KOS 140. Hinweis: Die Baugruppe ist ohne Firmware nicht lauffähig. Der Anwender ersetzt die 2 Leer-EPROMs durch je 1 programmiertes FW- bzw. Par.-EPROM. 2 2 Settings / Einstelllungen (ST) Schraub-/Steckklemmen FW EPROM-Steckplatz für Firmware und Parameter S99 Reset-Taster (Microcontroller-Reset) The settings depend on the module used as UEM 001- or AWD 001-carrier resp. used as a mere RS 232 C interface (without piggyback module, jumpers S6... S8 irrelevant) with a modem, e.g. UE85, UEM 201 or thirdparty product, connected in series. For the interface used by a piggyback module insert 3 jumpers, see above. Die Einstellungen sind abhängig vom Einsatz als UEM 001- oder AWD 001-Träger bzw. als reine V.24 / V.28 -Schnittstellenbaugruppe (ohne Huckepack, Brücken S6... S8 irrelevant) mit vorgeschaltetem UE85, UEM 201 oder Fremdprodukt. Die von einer Huckepackbaugruppe benutzte Schnittstelle benötigt 3 Steckbrücken, s. oben. Seite 2

3 3 Mounting / Montage 3.1 Mounting of Piggyback Modules / Montage der Huckepackbaugruppen Step 1 Seting the jumper S6... S8 of the KOS 540 following: Schritt 1 Stellen Sie die Brücken S6... S8 an der KOS 540 wie folgt ein: Step 2 Fixed all 3 bracing elements onto the PC-board, each with one screw and one lock washer. Step 3 Connect the corresponding UEM 001 via 18-pole ribbon cable. Disconnect the locking pins on the 3 litz wires of the UEM 001 and solder these litz wires onto the following soldering pins of KOS: KOS 540 UEM 001 S14 S6 ( shield ) S12 S4 ( WT1 ) S13 S5 ( WT2 ) Step 4 With the remaining screws (X6) and lock washers fix the corresponding UEM 001 (equipment side inwards). Schritt 2 Befestigen Sie alle 3 Distanzstückeauf der Grundplatte mit je 1 Schraube und Federring. Schritt 3 Verbinden Sie die jeweilige UEM 001 über das 18pol. Flachbandkabel. Die Einraststifte an den 3 Litzen der UEM 001 trennen Sie ab und löten die Litzen auf folgende Lötstifte der KOS: KOS 540 UEM001 S14 S6 ( Schirm ) S12 S4 ( WT1 ) S13 S5 ( WT2 ) Schritt 4 Mit den restlichen Schrauben (X6) und Federringen befestigen Sie die jeweilige UEM 001 Bestückungsseite nach innen). 3.2 Mounting of Piggyback Module AWD 001 / Montage der Huckepackbaugruppe AWD 001 Step 1 Seting the jumper S6... S8 of the KOS 540 following: Schritt 1 Stellen Sie die Brücken S6... S8 an der KOS 540 wie folgt ein: Step 2 Fixed 3 bracing elements onto the PCboard, each with one screw and one lock washer. Step 3 Connect the UEM 001 via 18-pole and 18-pole ribbon cable. Cut off the 3 litz wires. Step 4 With the remaining screws and lock washers fix the corresponding AWD 001 (equipment side inwards). Schritt 2 Befestigen Sie 3 Distanzstücke auf der Grundplatte mit je 1 Schraube und Federring. Schritt 3 Verbinden Sie die AWD 001 über das 18pol. und 8pol. Flachbandkabel. Die 3 Litzen abschneiden. Schritt 4 Mit den restlichen Schrauben und Federringen befestigen Sie die AWD 001 (Bestückungsseite nach innen). Seite 3

4 3.3 Mounting of KOS in / Montage der KOS Insert KOS in any slot of the basic subrack DTA 112 / DTA 113 and fix it by tightening upper and lower front panel screws (X5). By tightening, electromagnetic interference EMI is reduced. Please look after the unused contents of the add. package for later extensions Die KOS ist auf einem beliebigen Steckplatz des Grund-Baugruppen-trägers DTA 112 / DTA 113 einzusetzen und durch Festschrauben der Frontplatte oben und unten (X5) zu sichern. Die Befestigung ist zur Sicherung der einwandfreien Funktion erforderlich (EMV). Unbenutzten Inhalt des Beipacks für spätere Erweiterungen aufbewahren. 4 Connecting the Module / Anschlüsse 4.1 AWD Operation / AWD-Betrieb Change the screw/plug-in terminals, see page 6 UB = 24 V on terminal 1 M4 (0 24 V) on terminal 11 Schraub-/Steckklemmen tauschen, siehe Seite 6 UB = 24 V auf Klemme 1 M4 (0 24 V) auf Klemme RS 232C, UEM Operation / V.24-, UEM-Betrie For RS 232C / UEM operation it is unnecessary to change the terminals, connect the lines as shown on the respective labels (designation written in italics) Note If there are long UB supply lines use GND 001. Bei V.24- / UEM-Betrieb ist der Steckertausch unnötig, Leitungen anschließen wie in entsprechenden Schiebeschildern rechts notiert (kursive Beschriftung). Hinweis: Bei gestörten 24V-Versorgungsleitungen UB durch GND 001 filtern. Seite 4

7 6 Demounting / Demontage Pull off screw / plug-in terminal blocks. Unlock module by releasing the upper and lower front panel screws and pull it carefully from the slot. Ziehen Sie mit dem Ziehgriff die 4 Schraub- / Steckklemmen.
