Motivation Detection of land use changes is one of the most important issues in remote sensing data based monitoring Natural vegetation in arid and semi arid environment is heavily sensitiv to climate change Differentiation between seasonal variabiliy and climate change requires robust information Integration of phenological information from multitemporal satellite data sets are required 2

Zusammenfassung und Ausblick Multitemporale RapidEye Daten eröffnen neue Möglichkeiten der der Detektion von sehr heterogenen Vegetationstypen wie im Untersuchungsgebiet Erstmals konnten die typischen Vegetationszyklen der Region mit Satellitenfernerkundungsdaten nachgewiesen werden. Nur aus den zeitlich hoch auflösenden Datensätzen können die relevanten Zeitfenster - Maximum der photosynthetischen Aktivität - für jeden Vegetationstyp erfasst werden Der Workflow ist robust in Relation zur Heterogenität des Niederschlages 27

28 Zusammenfassung und Ausblick Mit der Einrichtung des RESA-Sondergebietes werden die Voraussetzungen für solche hochauflösenden Zeitreihen geschaffen Erweiterung des Gradienten ist geplant Kooperation von weiteren Einrichtungen wäre sehr wünschenswert Mit der Weiterführung des RESA Sondergebietes können weitere Variabiltäten der saisonalen Niederschlagsintensitäten und Verteilungen und deren Auswirkungen auf die Phänologie mittels RapidEye-Daten erfasst und somit die Grundlagen für ein Langzeitmonitoring entwickelt werden References: Elste, S., Gläßer, C., Walther, I., Götze, C.
