Durch die geringe Bauhöhe in axialer Richtung werden sie vorzugsweise in Anlagen mit kompakter Bauform und geringer Einbauhöhe zum Einsatz kommen. Mit dieser hochpoligen Variante wird der fortschreitenden Miniaturisierung im Motoren- und Maschinenbau Rechnung getragen, um eine große Anzahl an Signalen in einen kleinen Bauraum übertragen zu können. Standardmäßig beträgt der Aderquerschnitt 0,14mm² mit einer Belastung von 1,5A je Kontakt. Alternativ können 4 Kontakte mit einem Aderquerschnitt von 0,25mm² ausgestattet werden, um einen Strom von 3A je Kontakt übertragen zu können. Ab sofort sind die Komponenten für Food + Beverage auch in der Bauform M8x1 verfügbar. Spezielle Applikationen erfordern spezielle Komponenten. Die M8x1-Steckverbinder für Food + Beverage erfüllen diese Anforderungen. Besondere Werkstoffe, die z.b. den hohen hygienischen Regeln dieser Branche gerecht werden und die gegen die handelsüblichen, oft sehr aggressiven Reinigungsmittel beständig sind, welche im Rahmen der Hochdruckreinigung zum Einsatz kommen. Der aktuelle Lieferumfang für diese Produktfamilie ist schon ziemlich komplett. Die zur Datenübertragung notwendigen Steckverbinder sind in ihrer Ausführung sehr busspezifisch. Das schon vorhandene SAL-Programm für Buskomponenten ist um einige Versionen für Profibus DP und Industrial Ethernet erweitert worden. Für die Baureihe Profibus DP stehen ab sofort Winkelkupplungen und stecker mit drei unterschiedlichen Kabelqualitäten zur Verfügung. Abgerundet wird das Programm durch einen 4-poligen B-codierten Abschlussstecker. Für den Bereich Industrial Ethernet gibt es ab sofort eine Verbindungsleitung Stecker M12x1, axial auf einen RJ45.
