3 Dear customer, Thank you for purchasing our producht Please find our instructions below. 1. Display-Setup 1.1 Building the display First, take the display, the base and the base-socket of the display. Place the metal-rectangle of the base-socket into the matching lead of the display-case (near the USB label). Fix the base-socket by tightening the round fixing-plate, right in front of the metal-rectangle. Now place the base-socket into the base and screw it with the shipped screws. 1.2 Mounting a Raspberry Pi If you want to use the display with a Raspberry Pi, you can use the designated mounting-platform. Take the platform and mount your Raspberry Pi. For the current Raspberry Pis, you need to use the screwing-holes with the number 6. You can find a list with the designated holes for all popular micro-controllers on the mountingplatform. After mounting your Rasperry Pi, place the mounting-platform on the back of the display-case and attach it by using the holes with the number 9 (Vesa). 4 2. Using the display 2.1 Installing the software Install, with the help of the Win32 Disk Imager -program, the FBTFT Image, which you can find here. Export Copyright by Joy-IT 4

5 2.2 [Pro Part] Manually installing the display Connect the display, as well as your Raspberry Pi, with the power supplies. Also connect the display and the Rasperry Pi with a HDMI-cable. You can also connect the shipped USB-cable if you would like to use the touchscreen-features. Using the touchscreen-features needs additional configurations. At first you need to install the drivers. Please note that your Raspberry Pi needs to be connected to the internet: sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg-input-evdev Now we need to integrate the driver: sudo nano /usr/share/x11/xorg.conf.d/40-libinput.conf In this file, you need to change libinput to evdev in the line next to the last: Driver evdev Now you need to install the calibration tool: sudo apt-get install -y xinput-calibrator Restart your Raspberry Pi: sudo reboot Export Copyright by Joy-IT 5

6 Now you can start the calibration tool: xinput_calibrator You will now see 4 points on the display which needs to be pressed one after another. After that, four values will be printed which you need to use as new calibration data. Example: Section InputClass Identifier calibration MatchProduct egalax Inc. USB TouchController Option Calibration Option SwapAxes 0 EndSection Please note that the four values at the Calibration option may vary to yours. The first value matches to MinX, the second to MaxX, the third to MinY and the fourth to MaxY. You need to create a new file with the following command: sudo nano /usr/share/x11/xorg.conf.d/99-calibration.conf Enter the example above with your calibration data. The installation is done after saving and restarting. sudo reboot Export Copyright by Joy-IT 6

7 2.3 Using with a Windows PC Connect the display with the shipped power supply. Connect the computer and the display with a HDMI or a VGA cable. You can also connect an USB cable to the touch interface if you wish to control your computer via touch screen. This will need an additional driver installation first. 11 Sehr geehrter Kunde, vielen Dank, dass Sie sich für unser Produkt entschieden haben. Im Folgenden haben wir aufgelistet, was bei der Inbetriebnahme zu beachten ist: 1. Aufbau des Displays 1.1 Montage des Displays Entnehmen Sie zuerst das Display, den Standfuss und den Sockelhals des Displays. Führen Sie das metallische Rechteck des Sockelhalses in die passende Führung am Displaygehäuse (nahe der USB-Aufschrift). Fixieren Sie den Sockelhals, indem Sie die runde Fixierungsscheibe, die sich direkt vor dem metallischen Rechteck befindet, festschrauben. Führen Sie nun den Sockelhals in den Standfuss und schrauben Sie ihn mit den beiliegenden Schrauben fest. 1.2 Montage eines Raspberry Pis Falls Sie das Display mit einem Raspberry Pi betreiben möchten, so können Sie die dafür vorgesehene Montageplattform verwenden. Entnehmen Sie dafür die mitgelieferte Montageplattform und befestigen Sie darauf Ihren Raspberry Pi. Für einen aktuellen Raspberry Pi sind hier die Schraublöcher der Nummer 6 zu verwenden. Eine Liste der vorgesehenen Schraublöcher für alle gängigen Microcontroller befindet sich außerdem auch auf der Montageplattform. Nachdem Sie Ihren Raspberry Pi befestigt haben, legen Sie die Montageplattform auf die Rückseite des Displays und montieren Sie dieses (Schraublöcher 9 Vesa). Das Display ist nun vollständig aufgebaut und sollte dem folgenden Bild entsprechen. Ausgabe Copyright by Joy-IT 3

12 2. Verwendung des Displays 2.1 Installation der Software Installieren Sie auf Ihre SD-Karte mit Hilfe des Win32 Disk Imager -Programms das FBTFT Image, welches Sie unter den folgenden Links zum Download finden: RB-LCD10-2_Image-Download Ausgabe Copyright by Joy-IT 4

13 2.2 [Profi-Abschnitt] Manuelle Installation des Displays Verbinden Sie sowohl das Display, als auch Ihren Raspberry Pi mit den dafür vorgesehenen Stromkabeln. Für die Bildübertragung zwischen Display und Raspberry Pi, verbinden Sie die beiden Geräte mit dem beiliegenden HDMI-Kabel. Sie können außerdem das beiliegende USB Kabel mit Ihrem Raspberry Pi und der Touch Schnittstelle verbinden, falls eine Bedienung per Touchscreen erwünscht ist. Die Bedienung per Touchscreen benötigt weitere Konfiguration. Zuerst muss der Treiber installiert werden. Bitte beachten Sie, dass der Raspberry Pi mit dem Internet verbunden sein muss: sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg-input-evdev Als nächstes muss der Treiber in einer Datei eingebunden werden: sudo nano /usr/share/x11/xorg.conf.d/40-libinput.conf In dieser Datei muss in der Vorletzten Zeile der Treiber von libinput zu evdev geändert werden: Driver evdev Nun muss das Kalibrierungstool installiert werden: sudo apt-get install -y xinput-calibrator Nach der Installation muss ein Neustart durchgeführt werden: sudo reboot Ausgabe Copyright by Joy-IT 5

14 Anschließend können Sie das Kalibrierungstool starten: xinput_calibrator Sie sehen nun im Display nacheinander 4 Punkte aufleuchten, die gedrückt werden müssen. Danach werden Ihnen im Terminal 4 Werte ausgegeben, die als neue Kalibrierungsdaten verwendet werden müssen. Siehe Beispiel: Section InputClass Identifier calibration MatchProduct egalax Inc. USB TouchController Option Calibration Option SwapAxes 0 EndSection Beachten Sie, dass die 4 Werte unter Option Calibration bei Ihnen anders sein könnten. Dabei enspricht MinX den ersten Wert, MaxX den zweiten Wert, MinY den dritten Wert und MaxY den vierten Wert. Sie müssen nun eine neue Datei mit dem folgenden Befehl erstellen. sudo nano /usr/share/x11/xorg.conf.d/99-calibration.conf Nach dem Abspeichern der Datei und einem Neustart, werden die neuen Kalibrierungsdaten übernommen. sudo reboot Ausgabe Copyright by Joy-IT 6

15 2.3 Verwendung mit einem Windows PC Verbinden Sie das Display mit dem beiliegendem Stromkabel. Verbinden Sie nun Ihren Computer und das Display, je nach Präferenz, mit einem HDMI oder VGA-Kabel. Sie können außerdem Ihren Computer mit einem USB Kabel mit der Touch Schnittstelle verbinden, falls eine Bedienung per Touchscreen erwünscht ist.
