To objectively assess the Connected Consumer, GfK has developed an index taking a look at connected devices sales and usage GfK Connected Consumer Index The index measures how much consumers in 78 countries connect with other people or content or technology, across 11 different device types (smartphone, tablet, mobile PC, desktop PC, wearables, smart TV, TV set-top box, Videogame console, e-reader, connected car and smart home) Their usage patterns: Consumer Life Global consumer trends survey Annually since 1997 30,000+ consumers p.a., n = 1,000 to 1,500 per market Covering ~84% of global GDP 2
