EFOY-PRO Freeze Protection Freeze Protection EFOY Pro fuel cells have integrated freeze protection. If the temperature drops close to the freezing point then the EFOY Pro starts automatically to prevent freezing. As soon as the unit has reached a certain temperature level the unit shuts down automatically. The antifreeze mode works also if the unit is switched off (Display OFF ). If the unit is in antifreeze mode, the message Antifreeze mode will appear on the second line. IMPORTANT: The antifreeze function works only as long as a fuel cartridge and a intact battery are connected. In case the EFOY Pro freezes this can cause severe damage to the fuel cell stack. Damages caused by freezing are not covered by the manufacturer warranty. EFOY-PRO Fuel Cell If, despite precautions, the unit does freeze, let it thaw in a warm place (room temperature) for approximately 24 hours before operating. Please note that the unit s performance may diminish if it freezes repeatedly. Storage: Please store the EFOY Pro unit in a cool but frost protected place. Frost protection during transportation in winter ( Secure Transportation Mode): To protect the EFOY Pro against frost damages during transportation in cold environment (for example shipping during the winter) the manufacturer ships the EFOY Pro with activated Secure Transportation Mode. The Secure Transportation Mode prevents frost damages. Once the EFOY Pro is operated the Secure Transportation Mode becomes inactive. In case you plan the ship the EFOY Pro and temperature below +5 C can occur, it is recommended to reactivate the Secure Transportation Mode. A description how to activate the Secure Transportation Mode can be found on the udomi.de website in the download area under service.
