1 Press Release PEGAS to introduce Spanish PVB products on June 18 th 2019 Paris, 8 April 2019 PEGAS, the pan-european gas trading platform operated by Powernext, will launch spot and futures contracts for the Spanish Virtual Balancing Point (PVB) on June 18 th. Both physical spot products (Within-Ahead, Day-Ahead and Week-End contracts) and physically delivered derivative contracts (Month, Quarter, Season and Calendar Year products) will be listed. In addition, PEGAS market participants will have the possibility to trade geographical spread contracts with TTF and PEG. There is an appetite from market participants active in Spain to trade more with other European markets. Trading PVB products with PEGAS will facilitate this, as our members benefit from an access to all our hubs and associated spreads in one screen, precises Richard Katz, Director of Sales at Powernext. The PEGAS PVB markets will be open for trading from 8.00am to 6:00pm CET. The spot segment will be running 7/7 to support members balancing their portfolios also during non business days. Both spot and futures products can be traded via the Trayport Joule technology. European Commodity Clearing (ECC), Powernext s clearing house, will provide clearing and settlement of all Spanish contracts. This will allow members to benefit from cross-margining effects when trading other products offered by European Energy Exchange AG (EEX), Powernext s parent company. EEX indeed already offers power derivatives trading in Spain. Gas-fired power plants have an important role for the local electricity generation. It is therefore of great value for our members that EEX Group now offers power and gas products in Spain, says Egbert Laege, President of Powernext. April 2019 PEGAS, die pan-europäische Gashandelsplattform, die von der Powernext betrieben wird, führt am 18. Juni Spot- und Terminprodukte für den spanischen virtuellen Bilanzierungspunkt (PVB) ein. Sowohl physische Spotprodukte (Within- Ahead, Day- Ahead und Wochenend-Produkte) als auch physisch gelieferte Terminkontrakte (Monats-, Quartals-, saisonale und Kalenderjahrprodukte) werden für den Handel zur Verfügung stehen. Außerdem werden die Marktteilnehmer der PEGAS die Möglichkeit haben, geographische Spreadprodukte mit dem niederländischen TTF und dem französischen PEG zu handeln. Es gibt ein großes Interesse seitens der Marktteilnehmer in Spanien, den Handel mit anderen europäischen Marktgebieten zu erweitern. Der Handel der spanischen PVB Produkte mit PEGAS wird dies erleichtern, da unsere Mitglieder von einem Zugang zu allen unserer Märkte und den dazugehörigen Spreads auf einem Bildschirm profitieren können, erläutert Richard Katz, Director of Sales bei Powernext. Der Handel am PEGAS PVB wird von 8:00 Uhr morgens bis 18:00 Uhr abends stattfinden. Der Spotmarkt wird täglich geöffnet sein, um seinen Mitgliedern auch das Ausbalancieren ihrer Portfolien an Wochenendtagen zu ermöglichen. Sowohl Spot- als auch Terminprodukte können über das Trayport Joule System gehandelt werden. Die European Commodity Clearing (ECC), das Clearing House der Powernext, wird die Clearing- und Abrechnungsdienste für alle spanischen Kontrakte durchführen. Dies wird Händlern auch ermöglichen, von so genannten Cross-Margining-Effekten mit anderen Produkten der European Energy Exchange AG (EEX), Powernext s Mutterkonzern, profitieren zu können. Die EEX bietet bereits Terminkontrakte für Strom für den spanischen Markt zum Handel an. Gaskraftwerke haben eine wichtige Rolle für die Stromerzeugung in Spanien. Daher stellt das integrierte Angebot der EEX Gruppe von Strom- und Gaskontrakten einen großen Mehrwert für den spanischen Markt dar, kommentiert Egbert Laege, Präsident der Powernext. 5 Communiqué de presse muniq de presse PEGAS lance des contrats au PVB en Espagne le 18 juin 2019 Paris, 8 avril 2019 e prsse PEGAS, la plate-forme paneuropéenne de négociation de gaz opérée par Powernext, lancera le 18 juin des contrats au comptant et à terme sur le hub espagnol PVB (Virtual Balancing Point). A la fois des produits spots (contrats Within-Day et Day) et des contrats dérivés à livraison physique (produits Mois, Trimestre, Saison et Année calendaire) seront listés. De plus, les participants au marché PEGAS auront la possibilité de négocier des spreads géographiques avec le TTF et le PEG. «Il y a un intérêt de la part des acteurs du marché qui sont actifs en Espagne de négocier davantage avec d'autres marchés européens. Négocier des produits PVB avec PEGAS va faciliter cela car nos membres bénéficient d'un accès à tous nos hubs et aux spreads associés depuis un seul écran», précise Richard Katz, directeur commercial de Powernext. Les marchés PEGAS PVB seront ouverts de 8h00 à 18h00 CET. Le segment spot fonctionnera 7 jours sur 7, permettant aux membres d équilibrer leurs portefeuilles les jours non ouvrés. Les produits spots et futures seront tous les deux négociables via la technologie Trayport Joule. European Commodity Clearing (ECC) assurera la compensation et le règlement de tous les contrats espagnols. Cela permettra aux membres de bénéficier d effets de netting de marges lorsqu ils négocieront d autres produits proposés par EEX, la société mère de Powernext. En effet, EEX propose déjà le trading de dérivés pour l électricité en Espagne. «Les centrales électriques au gaz jouent un rôle important dans la production d'électricité locale. C est donc un atout précieux pour nos membres que le groupe EEX propose désormais à la fois le trading d électricité et de gaz en Espagne», déclare Egbert Laege, président de Powernext.
