1 Montageanleitung Ganganzeige Kabelkit GPX S01 Montage Der Einbau ist mit Grundkenntnissen in Mechanik und Elektrik einfach und innerhalb kurzer Zeit erledigt. Sollten sie diese Kenntnisse nicht besitzen, überlassen Sie die Montage einem Fachmann. Nach dem Auffinden des fahrzeugspezifischen Geschwindigkeitssensors wird das mitgelieferte Adapterkabel auf die originalen Stecker aufgesteckt. Die Sensoren sitzen meist auf der Ritzelabdeckung oder sind von oben in das Getriebe (in Höhe der Getriebeausgangswelle ) geschraubt. Zum testen den Stecker trennen und das Hinterrad bei eingeschalteter Zündung schnell drehen. Wird keine Geschwindigkeit angezeigt, ist der richtige Stecker gefunden. Achten Sie darauf, Kabel nicht direkt in der Nähe von heißen Motor- oder Auspuffteilen zu montieren/befestigen. Lokalisieren Sie jetzt das Motorsteuergerät. Es ist die flache Box mit ein oder zwei größeren Kompaktsteckern. Verbinden Sie dort die Leitung des Drehzahlsignals mit der schwarz/grünen Leitung der Ganganzeige. Bei den meisten Motorrädern kann das Drehzahlsignal auch vorne am Cockpit abgegriffen werden. YZF-R6 YZF-R1 BT 1100 Bulldog FZ6/FZS600 Fazer FZ1/FZS1000 Fazer XJR 1300 alle anderen Modelle: Kabel gelb/schwarz an ECU oder Kombiinstrument ACHTUNG: bei einigen Modellen findet man dort auch eine schwarz/gelbe-leitung nicht verwechseln! Die richtige (gelb/schwarz) führt von der ECU ins Cockpit. graue Leitung; es handelt sich um die Leitung des Kurbelwellensensors zur ECU/Motorsteuergerät; kann auch für oben stehende Modelle angewendet werden Schließen Sie jetzt die rote Leitung des Kabelsatzes an +12 Volt an (über Zündung geschaltet); z.b. die Stromversorgung des Rücklichts. Kontrollieren Sie jetzt den Anschluss, indem Sie die Ganganzeige aufstecken. Legen Sie den Leerlauf ein und schalten die Zündung ein. Die Ganganzeige zählt von 6 auf 1 runter und es blinkt langsam das "L". Starten Sie den Motor; das "L" muss für einige Sekunden schneller blinken. Wenn "1" langsam blinkt, legen Sie den ersten Gang ein, kuppeln ein und erhöhen die Drehzahl. Wenn die "1" schneller blinkt, legen Sie wieder den Leerlauf ein und schalten die Zündung aus. Ist dieser Test erfolgreich, können Sie die Lernprozedur komplett durchführen. Verlegen und befestigen Sie alle Leitungen und die Ganganzeige.

2 Bedienungsanleitung /Montageanleitung Ganganzeige X- Type/GPX Montage Der Einbau ist mit Grundkenntnissen in Mechanik und Elektrik einfach und innerhalb kurzer Zeit erledigt. Sollten Sie diese Kenntnisse nicht besitzen, überlassen Sie die Montage einem Fachmann. 1. Funktionsweise Die X-Type-Reihe ist für den Einsatz an Motorrädern ohne Gangsensor geeignet. Der eingelegte Gang muss hier über das Verhältnis Drehzahl und Geschwindigkeit errechnet werden. Die Anzeige es Ganges ist nur im eingekuppelten Zustand während der Fahrt möglich. Ein schneller Prozessor sorgt für eine schnelle Anzeige des Ganges mit nur kurzer Verzögerung. 2. Installation Die Installation ist durch den mitgelieferten Kabelkit einfach und schnell ohne Lötarbeiten erledigt. Das komplette Zubehör wird mitgeliefert. Beachten Sie die Einbauanleitung des Kabelkit. 3. Setup Zur Durchführung des Setup sollte das Motorrad möglichst auf dem Montageständer oder Hauptständer stehen. Für einen sicheren Stand ist zu sorgen. Ebenfalls ist ein Setup auch während der Fahrt möglich; dazu benötigt es aber einer langen und wenig befahrenen Strecke, um die Lernphase ohne Unterbrechung durchführen zu können. Nach dem Einschalten der Zündung zählt die Ganganzeige von "6" auf "1" runter. Dies bedeutet, dass keine Programmierung gespeichert wurde. Zählt die Ganganzeige aufwärts, ist der Speicher nicht leer und es muss ein Reset durchgeführt werden. Das Display zeigt nun ein blinkendes "L" (für Lernen). Legen Sie den Leerlauf ein und starten Sie den Motor. Das Display wird für einige Sekunden schneller blinken, wenn die Drehzahl korrekt erkannt wird. Die "1" blinkt langsam auf dem Display; warten Sie, bis die normale Leerlaufdrehzahl erreicht ist. Legen Sie den 1. Gang ein, kuppelt ein und lassen Sie das Motorrad mit 2-4 facher Leerlaufdrehzahl laufen. Normal ist eine Drehzahl von 3000 Umdrehungen, die Sie stabil halten sollten. Das Display blinkt schneller, wenn das Geschwindigkeitssignal erkannt wird. Die Ganganzeige lernt nun die Gangposition. Danach wird kurz "n" angezeigt und dann die langsam blinkende "2". Legen Sie den 2. Gang ein und wiederholen Sie die Prozedur wie beim 1. Gang. Dies führen Sie jetzt für alle Gänge durch. Im höchsten Gang warten Sie, bis "o" angezeigt wird und die blinkende Anzeige stoppt. Die Programmierung ist abgeschlossen. Wird jetzt die Zündung eingeschaltet, zählt die Anzeige von 1 hoch bis in den höchsten Gang als Zeichen der vollständigen Programmierung. Die Programmierung bleibt auch nach einem Abklemmen von der Batterie erhalten.

3 4. Reset Nach dem Einschalten der Zündung muss während dem Hochzählen von 1 auf 6 (wenn im Display 3, 4 oder 5 angezeigt wird), die Spannung unterbrochen werden. Bei vielen Motorrädern kann man dazu den "Killschalter" nutzen. Nach dem Wiedereinschalten muss wieder bei 3, 4 oder 5 die Spannung unterbrochen werden. Für den Reset ist dieses insgesamt 5 x zu wiederholen. Danach sollte die Anzeige von 6 auf 1 runterzählen und ist für eine Neuprogrammierung bereit. 5. Schaltblitz Die Anzeige zeigt ein schnell blinkendes "U" bei erreichen der gewünschten Schaltdrehzahl. Als erstes führen Sie die Schritte zur Deaktivierung (Punkt 7 dieser Anleitung) durch. Wenn "C" blinkt, halten Sie die Drehzahl niedrig. Auf dem Display blinkt ein "U" als Zeichen, dass die Lernprozedur aktiv ist. Die Anzeige lernt die höchste Drehzahl. Erhöhen Sie die Drehzahl langsam stufenweise bis zur gewünschten Schaltdrehzahl, halten diese für 1 Sekunde und gehen dann wieder vom Gas. Wenn Sie fertig sind, können Sie de Prozedur auf 3 Arten speichern. Starten Sie eine Fahrt, stoppen den Motor oder schalten Sie die Zündung aus. 6. High-Speed-Warnung Sie können eine Warnung beim Erreichen einer bestimmten Geschwindigkeit programmieren. Die Anzeige fängt im aktuellen Gang an zu blinken, wenn die Geschwindigkeit erreicht ist. Als erstes führen Sie die Schritte zur Deaktivierung (Punkt 7 dieser Anleitung) durch. Wenn "C" blinkt, wählen Sie den ersten Gang und starten Sie eine Fahrt. Das Display blinkt und zeigt ein "H" als Zeichen, dass die Lernprozedur aktiv ist. Erhöhen Sie die Geschwindigkeit langsam stufenweise bis zur gewünschten Geschwindigkeit und halten Sie diese für 1 Sekunde. Dann verringern Sie die Geschwindigkeit und stoppen. Zum Speichern schalten Sie die Zündung einfach aus. 7. Deaktivierung des Schaltblitz und der High-Speed-Warnung Schalten Sie die Zündung ein, starten den Motor und lassen ihn warm laufen. Erhöhen Sie jetzt langsam die Drehzahl auf das 3-4 fache der Leerlaufdrehzahl ( U/min). Wenn das Display "-" zeigt, halten Sie Drehzahl in diesem Bereich, bis das "C" im Display blinkt. Wollen Sie beide Funktionen deaktivieren, schalten Sie jetzt die Zündung aus. Für alle Programmierfunktionen sollte das Motorrad vorher warm gelaufen sein, um eine stabile Leerlaufdrehzahl zu gewährleisten.

4 GIpro X-type Install Guide for GPX-Y01, Y03, Y04 Harness Kits Before installing this Harness Kit, please make sure you got the right parts for your bike. See the part numbers on the packaging and use the Product Advisor on our website to check compatibility. These instructions are applicable to a wide range of motorcycles and describe the main install steps needed for a successful installation. Remove the seat and locate the Speed Sensor coupler. The Speed Sensor is usually located on the top of the gearbox and reads the revolution of the countershaft. The 3-pole speed sensor coupler is situated cm (8-16 ) away from sensor. The connector is usually accessible under the fuel tank or removing a side fairing. If the speedometer is driven off the front wheel, the sensor coupler is usually in the headlight bucket. If in doubt, check the bike s Service Manual or ask your dealer for the location of the Speed Sensor coupler. Confirmation: Separate the Speed Sensor coupler (you might need to use a small flathead screwdriver to get the coupler apart). Rotate the wheels while ignition is on. The speedometer should indicate 0. If so, turn the ignition off and proceed to the next step. Otherwise, if the speedometer registers a speed other than 0, you have not disconnected the correct coupler and need to look again. 2. After separating the Speed Sensor coupler, plug in both the male and female 3-pole GIpro harness connectors. Make sure the connectors are fully seated. If you have a SpeedoHealer installed, you have to connect the plugs in-line in the following order: Speed sensor plug GIpro SH Bike plug at the wiring harness side 3. a) When using the GPX-Y01 kit: Find the 2-pole natural (or black) color plug of the Crankshaft position sensor (Pickup coil). It has two wires coming from the crankcase: one is Gray, the other is usually Black/Blue - check the colors at both sides of the plug (if in doubt, do a temporary connection e.g. by using a thin needle to backprobe the connector pin). The 2-pole connector is usually under the fuel tank. for XVS1100 models only: find and use the Orange (ignition coil wire). GPX-Y01_Y03_Y04_InstallGuide_en.pdf [rev. 001]

5 b) When using the GPX-Y03 or Y04 kit: Find the 2-pole plug of the AC magneto (Crankshaft position sensor/pickup coil). It has two wires coming from the crankcase: one is Red, the other is usually White 4. On the wire identified in the previous step, peel off the black sleeve (tape) near the 2-pole plug, leaving about 3 cm (1.2 ) of the wire exposed. 5. Connect the GIpro Black/Green wire to this bike wire, using the Red wire tap connector supplied. Usage: Place the unstripped bike wire inside the run channel. Close the side cover until latched. Cut off the excess length, then insert the unstripped tap wire (Black/Green) completely and check its position. Insert the blade (u-contact) and press down by finger pressure. Then, fully depress the u-contact with pliers. Close the hinged top cover until latched. 6. Connect the GIpro Red wire to a switched +12V wire, e.g. to the rear brake light switch, located under the fuel tank (2-pole brown or black connector, Brown wire at the main wiring harness side). Use the other Red wire tap connector supplied. You may also use e.g. the hot wire of the front parking light. 7. Connect the 4-pole GIpro harness connector to the GIpro display connector. 8. Check whether everything is installed and working properly: - Select Neutral and turn ignition On The GIpro display should count from 6 to 1, then L flashes slowly. (If not, the display is not receiving power and/or ground. Check the connections at the speed sensor connector and also at the 4-pole plugs.) - Rotate the wheels the display should indicate a rolling wheel. (If not, the display is not receiving the speed signal. Check the connection at the speed sensor connector and also at the 4-pole plugs.) - Start the engine L should flash faster for a few seconds. (If not, the display is not receiving the RPM signal. Check the wire tap.) Turn the ignition Off. If the tests still fail, disconnect the 3-pole and 4-pole connectors and check whether the connector pins are bent or pushed out of position. Spray some WD40 into the plugs. 9. Peel off the green plastic from the back of the unit, and mount the display. 10. Neatly route the GIpro harness from the 3-pole plugs to the mounting location, preferably along the frame. Do not bend the harness near the 4-pole connectors. Do not route the harness very close to the exhaust pipe or cylinder head. 11. Use black tape to secure and isolate the 4-pole connectors. To minimize cable stress, use the supplied cable ties to fasten the unit and harness to other cables. - 2

6 GIpro X-type Gear Position Indicator with programmable Shift Light and High Speed Warning User s Guide 1. Foreword Congratulations on your purchase of a GIpro X-type gear position indicator. The GIpro products from HealTech Electronics Ltd. are the most advanced gear position indicators on the market today. This GIpro model will fit all motorcycles and vehicles which have an electronic speedometer (either analogue or digital readout). Your speedometer is electronic if the odo/tripmeter has LCD readout. If your speedometer is cable driven, it is still possible to install this product with our GPX-WSS harness kit. Due to a modern microprocessor and sophisticated firmware, the GIpro-X offers faster and more reliable readings than competing products. The unit is also the smallest, most compact gear indicator available, making it easy to mount at the instrument cluster. The display is auto-learning, there are no buttons and no programming wire. 2. Operation Your motorcycle is not equipped with a Gear Position Sensor, therefore determining and displaying the gear in use is only possible when the engine is running and the clutch is fully released. At other times (clutch pulled-in, engine not running, bike stopped) the display will show a - sign. The GIpro will NOT show an incorrect gear in any circumstances, except for a split second when the clutch is released slowly (slipping) during a back shift. 3. Installation The Harness Kit required for the installation is supplied separately. Along with the Display unit, please make sure to order the correct wiring harness kit for your bike. 7 4. Setup You need to set up this module after installation. It is recommended to perform the setup procedure with WARM engine. - Raise the rear wheel off the ground by using a stand. (If you do not have a stand, or your speedometer is driven off the front wheel, set up the unit while riding. Find a long, straight road with light traffic. The unit does not learn the same gear twice, this makes it easy to set up on the road. You can even shift down and stop during the setup if needed. Do not stare at the display, watch the road and ride with extreme care as always!) - Turn the ignition On. The display counts backwards ( 6 to 1 ) indicating that the memory is clear. (If the display counts upwards when ignition is turned on, the memory is not clear. Perform the Reset procedure if you wish to set it up again.) - The display flashes L (Learning) slowly. Start the engine in Neutral, and let it idle. The display flashes faster for a few seconds while the RPM signal is being received correctly. - The display flashes 1 slowly. At this point, wait until the RPM drops to the normal idle speed. Select 1st gear, release the clutch and keep the engine at approx. 2-4 times of your idle speed (usually RPM). The display flashes faster while the SPEED signal is being received correctly. The unit is now learning the gear position. Depending on the bike model, the learning may take from a few seconds up to a minute. - The display shows n (next) for a second, then 2 flashes slowly. Select 2nd gear, release the clutch and raise RPM. Again, the display flashes faster while learning the gear position. Repeat this process until all gears have been programmed (5 or 6). - In top gear, wait until o (over) is indicated and the display stops flashing. (If your bike has 6 gears, you will need to select 6th gear when prompted, otherwise the unit will exit from programming mode in 5 seconds and you will need to repeat the setup procedure.) The unit is now programmed and should indicate all gears correctly. Now, when ignition is turned on, the display counts forward ( 1 to 5 or 1 to 6 ) indicating that it is programmed and fully functional. Note 1: If you have a SpeedoHealer (or other speedometer calibrator) and you change the calibration factor, probably you will have to reset the GIpro and perform the setup procedure again. Note 2: The unit stores all settings in Flash memory, there is no need to set it up again if you disconnect or remove the battery

8 5. Reset If some gears are not indicated correctly, reset the unit and set it up again. - Have the engine stop switch in OFF position. - Turn the ignition key ON and immediately turn it off while the GIpro display is counting up and is showing 3, 4 or 5. Repeat this step 5 more times. - On the next power up, the display will count backwards ( 6 to 1 ). The memory is now cleared and you can perform the Setup procedure. Note: If you perform the Reset procedure, it will set the device to factory default condition. The Shift Light and High Speed Warning features will also be cleared. 6. Shift Light If you wish, you can program the device to indicate when the desired RPM is reached. The unit will rapidly flash a U (Up) once you exceed the pre-set RPM. The feature is intelligent, as it does not operate in top gear. To activate the feature: - First, perform the deactivation steps as per chapter 8. - When C (Clear) is flashing, raise the RPM very slowly. - The display will begin flashing a U sign, indicating that the Shift Light learning is in progress. The unit learns the highest RPM. - Raise the RPM gradually and very slowly to the desired RPM, and hold it for a second. Release the throttle. - When done, you can save the setting and exit from the learning mode in three ways: start riding, stop the engine or turn ignition off. 7. High Speed Warning If you wish, you can program the device to warn you when your speed exceeds a set limit. The unit flashes the actual gear 1 to 5/6 above the pre-set speed limit. This way you can still see the gear position. To activate the feature: - First, perform the deactivation steps as per chapter 8. - When C (Clear) is flashing, select first gear and start riding. - The display will be flashing an H sign, indicating that the HSW learning is in progress. The unit learns the highest SPEED. - 3

9 - Select a high gear and raise your speed gradually and slowly to the desired speed. Hold it for a second, then slow down and stop. (You should of course slow down and stop as traffic conditions dictate. The unit will not exit from learning mode until you stop the engine. It records the highest speed as long as H is flashing on the display.) - When done, you can save the setting and exit from learning mode two ways: stop the engine or turn ignition off. 8. Deactivating the SL and HSW features If you wish to deactivate or re-program the Shift Light or High Speed Warning features, perform the following steps: - Park the bike and turn ignition On (if it is already on, cycle the ignition key). - Start the engine in neutral, and warm the engine if necessary. (Do not move the bike, otherwise you will need to restart the sequence.) - Gradually and very slowly increase the RPM, and keep it in the range 3-4 times of your idle speed (usually RPM). As a guide, the display will show a (top horizontal bar) sign when you keep the RPM in this range. - Hold the RPM for about 5 seconds, until C (Clear) is flashing on the display. - Now, if you wish to deactivate both features, stop the engine or turn the ignition Off. Otherwise, continue with chapter 6 or 7. Note: you can not activate and use both features at the same time. If you program one, it will clear the previous setting. 9.
