PRESS RELEASE PEGAS achieves record results in 2015 Volume increases by 81 % to 1,025 TWh Leipzig, Paris, 26 January 2016 PEGAS, the pan-european gas trading platform operated by Powernext, recorded its best annual traded volume to date with a total of 1,024.8 TWh traded in 2015. This accounts for an increase of 81% compared to 2014 (567.2 TWh). This upsurge was achieved across all PEGAS market segments. Since 1 January 2015, all gas markets of EEX Group are operated by Powernext on the PEGAS platform. At the same time, EEX became the majority shareholder of Powernext. With this step, the access to all natural gas products available on PEGAS was facilitated with all major European gas hubs being offered on one platform through one membership. Dr. Egbert Laege, CEO of Powernext, comments: 2015 was a crucial step for the development of PEGAS. We crossed the 1,000 TWh threshold for the first time while extending our offer to our 177 members. With their support, PEGAS aspiration of becoming the pan-european gas platform of choice can be achieved, as long as we continue to focus on satisfying our client s ambitions. This trust enables us to continue our development, with the introduction of new markets and additional products in 2016. Spot Markets Overall spot trading volumes in 2015 rose to 440.6 TWh, which represents a growth of 52% compared to 2014 (289.7 TWh). In particular, the markets for the Netherlands, Germany and France and contributed to this development. The Dutch TTF market recorded a volume of 123.9 TWh, up 84% compared to the previous year (67.2 TWh). The German NCG and GASPOOL delivery areas registered 194.9 TWh, up 51% from 2014 (129.2 TWh), including 56.8 TWh of quality specific gas products. The volume traded on the French hubs reached 116.7 TWh, which represents a 26% year-on-year increase (92.9 TWh). In addition, the
Belgian ZTP delivery zone totalled 5.0 TWh in 2015, up more than ten times the volumes traded in 2014 on this specific hub (437,681 MWh). In 2015, PEGAS successfully introduced trading for new markets and products on the spot market which contributed to the overall increase: On 17 April, physically settled Spot and Futures contracts were launched on the Belgian Zeebrugge Beach (ZEE) gas hub. The launch of spot and futures products for the UK s NBP gas hub followed on 26 March. Additionally, locational spot products were introduced on the GASPOOL and GRTgaz delivery zones on 17 November, supporting the physical balancing of French Transmission System Operators (TSO) and German Market Area Managers (MAM). In 2015, spread transactions on all PEGAS spot markets amounted to 57.0 TWh. Derivatives Markets PEGAS derivatives market volumes rose to 584.2 TWh which represents an increase of 111% compared to the volume traded in 2014 (277.5 TWh). The Dutch TTF futures market accounted for almost three quarters of the total volume with 428.9 TWh, a growth of 186% in comparison with the previous year (150.2 TWh). The German NCG and GASPOOL delivery areas registered a volume of 96.7 TWh up 14% from the previous period (85.2 TWh). Trading volumes on both French PEG Nord and TRS market areas reached 50.7 TWh in 2015 up 20% from 2014 (42.1 TWh). In addition to this, a number of new products launched on the derivatives market contributed to the high overall result: On 26 March, physical futures for the NBP and financial futures for the PSV market areas were launched. Physical futures for PSV followed on 18 September. On 17 April, products for the Belgian ZEE market area were launched. The futures segments for NBP and ZEE totalled 1.1 TWh as of 31 December, while 6.8 TWh were traded on the PSV delivery zone. On 19 March, Straight-Through Processing (STP) was launched, with which the registration of OTC transactions (Trade Registration) can be conducted by brokers with less manual interaction and operational risk compared to the manual process. In the course of 2015, the volume from Trade Registration reached 34.4 TWh which includes 20.5 TWh registered for clearing through the new STP service.

PEGAS, die von Powernext betriebene paneuropäische Gashandelsplattform, verzeichnete 2015 mit insgesamt 1.024,8 TWh ihr bisher höchstes Jahreshandelsvolumen. Dies entspricht gegenüber 2014 einem Anstieg um 81% (567,2 TWh), der über alle PEGAS Marktgebiete erzielt wurde. Seit dem 1. Januar 2015 werden alle Gasmärkte der EEX Gruppe durch die Powernext auf der PEGAS Plattform betrieben. Zeitgleich wurde die EEX Mehrheitsgesellschafter der Powernext. Mit diesem Schritt wurde der Zugang zu allen an der PEGAS verfügbaren Erdgasprodukten vereinfacht, da alle großen europäischen Gashubs nunmehr auf einer Plattform mit einer Mitgliedschaft angeboten werden. Spotmärkte Die Gesamtvolumina im Spothandel stiegen 2015 auf 440,6 TWh. Dies entspricht einem Anstieg von 52% gegenüber dem Jahr 2014 (289,7 TWh). Zu dieser Entwicklung trugen insbesondere die Märkte für die Niederlande, Deutschland und Frankreich bei. Der niederländische TTF Markt erzielte ein Volumen von 123,9 TWh und damit einen Zuwachs von 84% gegenüber dem Vorjahr (67,2 TWh). Die deutschen Liefergebiete NCG und GASPOOL verzeichneten mit 194,9 TWh einen Anstieg von 51% gegenüber dem Jahr 2014 (129,2 TWh). Dieses Volumen
beinhaltet 56,8 TWh aus dem Handel mit qualitätsspezifischen Produkten. Das an den französischen Hubs gehandelte Volumen betrug 116,7 TWh. Dies entspricht im Jahresvergleich einem Anstieg um 26% (92.9 TWh). Darüber hinaus stieg das Volumen im belgischen Marktgebiet ZTP mit 5,0 TWh um mehr als das Zehnfache (437,1 MWh) Im Jahr 2015 führte die PEGAS erfolgreich den Handel für neue Märkte und neue Produkte auf dem Spotmarkt ein. Dies trug zur Gesamtsteigerung bei: Am 17. April wurden auf dem belgischen Zeebrugge Beach (ZEE) Gashub Spot- und Futureskontrakte mit physischer Abwicklung eingeführt. Die Einführung von Produkten am Spot- und Terminmarkt für den britischen NBP Gashub folgte dann am 26. März. Darüber hinaus wurden in den Liefergebieten GASPOOL und GRTgaz am 17. November lokale Spotprodukte eingeführt, mit denen der physische Ausgleich von Gasflüssen der französischen Ferngasnetzbetreiber (ÜNB) und der deutschen Marktgebietsverantwortlichen (MAM) unterstützt wird. Das Volumen in den Spread-Kontrakten am PEGAS-Spotmarkt belief sich auf 57,0 TWh. Terminmärkte Die Volumina auf den PEGAS Terminmärkten sind auf 584,2 TWh gestiegen. Dies entspricht einem Anstieg von 111% gegenüber dem Handelsvolumen des Jahres 2014 (277,5 TWh). Der niederländische TTF Futuresmarkt machte mit 428,9 TWh und damit einem Anstieg von 186% gegenüber dem Vorjahr (150,2 TWh) beinahe drei Viertel des Gesamtvolumens aus. Die deutschen Liefergebiete NCG und GASPOOL verzeichneten ein gegenüber dem Vergleichszeitraum um 14% höheres Volumen von 96,7 TWh (85,2 TWh). Die Handelsvolumina in den beiden französischen Marktgebieten PEG Nord und TRS erreichten 2015 50,7 TWh und sind damit gegenüber 2014 (42,1 TWh) um 20% gestiegen. Darüber hinaus leistete eine Reihe von neuen Terminmarkt-Produkten einen Beitrag zum hohen Gesamtergebnis: Am 26. März wurden physische Futures für das NBP und finanzielle Futures für das PSV Marktgebiet eingeführt. Dem folgten am 18. September physische Futures für PSV. Am 17. April wurden Produkte für das belgische
Marktgebiet ZEE eingeführt. An den Terminmärkten für NBP und ZEE wurden bis zum Jahresende 1,1 TWh gehandelt, im Marktgebiet PSV betrug das Volumen 6,8 TWh. Das Straight-Through-Processing (STP), das Brokern die Registrierung von außerbörslich geschlossenen Transaktionen (Trade Registration) mit weniger manuellen Eingriffen und einem geringeren operativen Risiko ermöglicht, wurde am 19. März eingeführt. Im Verlaufe des Jahres 2015 erreichte das Volumen aus der Trade Registration 34,4 TWh, davon wurden 20,5 TWh über STP zum Clearing registriert. PEGAS, la plateforme paneuropéenne de négociation de gaz gérée par Powernext, a enregistré son meilleur volume annuel en 2015. Le volume négocié record de 1 024,8 TWh constitue une augmentation de 81% par rapport à 2014 ( 567,2 TWh). Cette forte croissance a été réalisée sur tous les segments de marché de PEGAS. Depuis le 1 er janvier 2015, tous les marchés de gaz du groupe EEX sont opérés par Powernext à travers la plateforme PEGAS. Dans le même temps, EEX est devenu l actionnaire majoritaire de Powernext. Cela a permis la mise à disposition de tous les produits gaz de PEGAS sur une même plateforme et de les rendre tous accessibles par une même adhésion. Les marchés néerlandais, allemands et français ont particulièrement contribué à ce développement. Le marché néerlandais TTF a enregistré un volume de 123,9 TWh, soit une augmentation de 84% comparé à l année dernière (67,2 TWh). Les zones de marché allemandes NCG et GASPOOL ont relevé un volume de 194,9 TWh, soit une progression de 51% par rapport à 2014 (129,2 TWh), incluant 56,8 TWh négociés en produits gaz à haute et basse qualités calorifiques. Le volume négocié sur les marchés français a atteint 116,7 TWh, ce qui représente une croissance de 20% par rapport à
2014 (92,9 TWh). De plus, la zone de livraison belge ZTP a enregistré un volume total de 5.0 TWh, soit plus de 10 fois celui négocié l année précédente (437 681 MWh). En 2015, PEGAS a lancé avec succès des nouveaux marchés et produits qui ont contribué au développement de son segment spot. Ainsi, le 17 avril 2015, des contrats spot et futures à livraison physique ont été introduits sur le hub gazier belge Zeebrugge Beach (ZEE). Le lancement des produits spot et futures au hub gazier anglais NBP a suivi le 25 mars. De plus, des produits d équilibrage physique à livraison localisée en Allemagne et en France ont été lancés le 17 novembre sur les zones GASPOOL et GRTgaz, et soutiennent l équilibrage physique des gestionnaires de zones allemandes ainsi que du gestionnaire de réseaux de transport français. Le volume total des transactions sur les spreads a atteint 57 TWh en 2015. Marchés dérivés Les marchés PEGAS Futures ont enregistré un volume de 584,2 TWh, soit une augmentation de 112% par rapport au volume négocié en 2014 (277,5 TWh). Le marché dérivé au hub néerlandais TTF a contribué à presque trois quart du volume total avec 428,9 TWh négociés, ce qui représente une progression de 186% comparé à l année précédente (150,2 TWh). Les zones de livraison allemandes NCG et GASPOOL ont enregistré un volume de 96,7 TWh, soit une croissance de 14% par rapport à 2014 (85,2 TWh). Les segments futures de NBP et de ZEE ont totalisés 1,1 TWh au 31 décembre alors que 6,8 TWh ont été négociés sur le PSV. Le service Straight-Through Processing (STP) lancé le 19 mars, fournit aux membres de Powernext un nouveau service d enregistrement d intérêts hors-carnet avec moins d interactions manuelles et de risques opérationnels. En 2015, le volume des
transactions issues d intérêts hors carnet a atteint 34,4 TWh, dont 20,5 TWh enregistrés par le biais du service STP.
