Test Report 1485-001-14, 29.01.2014/sg-gm 1. Definition of Project and General Details 1.1 Definition of project SUNFLEX Aluminium Systeme GmbH, Wenden, manufactures and sells (among others) folding-sliding-systems which can be used as partitions in the interior of buildings but also can for closing off heated living quarters from the outside area. The system to be tested, type SF 75H, is a glass folding wall consisting of 3-layered laminated timber in which different insulating glass units up to a thickness of 40 mm can be fitted. The three-winged wall is equipped with ceiling and floor rails integrated in the system and has vertical seals at the wing joints as well as horizontal seals above and below on the ceiling and floor rails. The system SF 75H was installed in the test stand and tested with respect to the airborne sound insulation. For this purpose, the construction has to be installed in the test opening with dimensions width x height = 2,400 mm x 2,200 mm in the test stand with suppressed flanking transmission in accordance to DIN EN ISO 10140-5. The airborne sound insulation in a functional state of the test object manufactured by the client in accordance to DIN EN ISO 10140-2 was to be ascertained. 1.2 Manufacturer of test arrangement SUNFLEX Aluminium Systeme GmbH Im Ruttenberge 12 57482 Wenden 1.3 Client requesting test SUNFLEX Aluminium Systeme GmbH Im Ruttenberge 12 57482 Wenden Page 3 of 7

Test Report 1485-001-14, 29.01.2014/sg-gm 2. Set-up of Test Objects and Test Arrangements 2.1 Laboratory The sample element was installed in the test stand belonging to the test institute by the manufacturer s fitters in order to ascertain the airborne sound insulation with suppressed flanking transmission in accordance to DIN EN ISO 10140-5. The maximum sound reduction index R`max of the test stand when a type A wall (lightweight wall) was installed in accordance to DIN EN ISO 10140-5, Appendix A.2.2.1.1 amounted to: f Terz in Hz 50 63 80 100 125 160 200 250 315 400 500 R`max in db 29,2 40,8 34,6 44,1 44,3 49,6 55,7 59,6 61,6 63,8 68,1 f Terz in Hz 630 800 1000 1250 1600 2000 2500 3150 4000 5000 R`max in db 70,6 72,0 75,1 74,6 73,2 73,3 78,7 83 86,2 90,5 The rated sound reduction index amounted to: R`w, max = 68 db. The enclosing wall of the folding-sliding-system was manufactured by skilled test institute employees. In order to achieve an adequately high level of sound insulation, the wall panels of the altogether approx. d (= thickness) = 500 mm thick wall were built up on both sides of the butt joint with freestanding metal stands. Test Report 1485-001-14, 29.01.2014/sg-gm 2.2 Set-up of test object The tested sample element was an folding-sliding-system in timber composite construction made of sections having a thickness of 75 mm with floor and ceiling rails as well as door stops and 3 wings equipped with insulating glazing units (2 different types). The foldingsliding-wings which are connected with one another are moved through a roller carriage system which is adjustable in height in a ceiling rail and/or floor rail. The connection to the side wall connection is carried out with a vertical connection profile. The dimensions of the total element amount to width x height = 2,400 mm x 2,200 mm. The test surface amounts to approx. S = 5.28 m 2. The glazing units have the following construction characteristics: Build-up (according to sticker on glass): VSG SI 8 mm Cavity between inner and outer pane (SZR) 16 mm (Argon) LE Premium 6 mm Build-up (according to sticker on glass): Float 4 mm Cavity between inner and outer pane (SZR) 20 mm (Argon) LE Premium 4 mm The following build-ups were tested: Measurement 1: Folding-sliding-system SF 75H, Glazing (build-up 1): VSG SI 8 mm, SZR 16 mm (Argon), LE Premium 6 mm Measurement 2: Folding-sliding-system SF 75H, Glazing (build-up 2): Float 4 mm, SZR 20 mm (Argon), LE Premium 4 mm The surrounding joints between test object and test opening were sealed using silicon compound or with durable elastic filling mass respectively. The detailed build-up of the construction can be seen in the manufacturer s construction drawing, annexes 1 to 6. Annex 7 shows the construction characteristics of the glazing units (stickers on glass). Annexes 8 and 9 contain photo documentation of the set-up in the laboratory. A schematic diagram of the test set-up in the test stand is shown in annex 10. Page 6 of 7

Measurement Implementation For the determination of the airborne sound insulation, electroacoustic generated third octave band noise is radiated in the transmission room via a dodecahedron loudspeaker. In the frequency range between 50 Hz and 5.000 Hz the margin values generated, are simultaneously measured and recorded in two channels in the transmission and receiving room, via two condenser microphones in third octave band steps. From these values and the rev. time, the sound insulation margins, in the individual frequency bands, are determined according to DIN EN ISO 717. The rated sound reduction index R w is determined as an individual value, with the integrated process computer of the sound level analyzer. 45478 Mülheim an der Ruhr, den 29.01.2014 Stefan Grüll
