Focus on vehicles components and medical equipment. (in cooperation with Quality Partnership LLC) Place: German Centre Meeting Room (11th Floor, Landmark Tower 2) Registration: Until Wednesday October 19th, 2011 Fee: for free Language: English Contact: Ms. Cheng Cheng@germancentre.org.cn Tel. +86 10 6590 6919/20/21 Abstract: As attractive and gratifying as it may be, accessing the Chinese market is often a cumbersome process. Market access is heavily regulated and includes three to four thousand compulsory standards at national level only. This workshop will begin with an introduction to the China Compulsory Certification, China s main certification scheme, followed by two case studies of market access in China automotive components and medical devices. Vehicles components are subject to compulsory CCC certification in China. The CCC catalogue includes 19 sub-categories of products under Motor vehicles and safety parts, all subject to compulsory certification. Registration, evaluation, and approval of medical devices imported in China are conducted by the State Food and Drug Administration (SFDA). The SFDA classifies medical devices into three categories which are similar to the classification used in Europe. However, the classification of individual product may have difference between the EU and China. Both presentations will help the participants understand the process allowing a company to put its products on the Chinese market, based on current regulations but also on the practical experience of the featured experts. Agenda: 15:30 to 16:00h Registration 16:00 to 16:45h Introduction of Standardization in China 16:45 to 17:00h Coffee break 17:00 to 17:30h Workshops in two groups (medical and vehicle components)
