Application: A back plate with vortex breaker is especially suitable if turbulence is required around the seal area, for instance with a view to optimize cleaning. In case of pumping of abrasive media, the vortex breaker prevents the occurrence of a perpetually rotating flow in the sealing chamber which would cause erosion of the back plate. Corresponds to the basic arrangement: Code no. 02 ISO 5199 Purpose: The purpose is to remove frictional heat from the seal area, to lower the temperature of the seal or to prevent build-up of product due to excess heat. Recirculation arrangement: On the pumps the arrangement has been built into special back plates. Therefore, these will replace the standard back plates in the pump range.
