Enterprise Europe Network welcomes you to two events at the Hannover Fair 2012: - international brokerage event Technology Cooperation Days at the Hannover Fair guided tours/ company missions to five German regional booths (see following pages) The brokerage event organised by the Enterprise Europe Network, the largest business support network in Europe, enables exhibitors and visitors at the fair to find partners for collaboration, e.g. for product development, research & development, joint ventures, manufacturing, marketing and/or licensing agreements. This is made possible thanks to the coordinated action of nearly 600 local partners, employing around 4000 experienced staff promoting competitiveness and innovation at the local level in Europe and beyond. The Network offers support, advice and effective solutions to entrepreneurs and companies in more than 50 countries, including the 27 EU member states, members of the European Economic Area (EEA) and other participating third countries. Our services are specifically designed for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) but are also available to all businesses, research centres and Universities across Europe. Whether you need information on EU legislation, help finding a business partner, want to benefit from innovation networks in your region or need information on funding opportunities, this is the place to start.

3 C o m p a n y M i s s i o n s In the course of the Hannover fair participants of the international brokerage event Technology Cooperation Days have the additional and free of charge offer to attend seven thematic company missions to enhance their international cooperation network. These guided tours to selected exhibitors of five regional German booths (Lower Saxony, Bavaria, Berlin/Brandenburg, Sachsen- Anhaltina and Rhineland-Palentina will take place on April at 2.30 p.m. and 4.30 p.m. No. Guided tour April 24, Tue April 25, Wed April 26, Thu 1 Clean Technology/Energy Efficiency Research / Cluster Energy Efficiency - Solar Technology Polymers Industrial Supply Steel and Lightweight Construction Measurement and ProcessTechnology 2.30 Between 6-10 companies or research institutions will be visited in order to get information about new technologies and processes and to define future cooperation options. The company missions will last 1-1,5 h. After the tour, the exhibitors and participants will meet at the Berlin/ Brandenburg booth in hall 6 in order to intensify contacts made during the tour. The company missions will be held in English and are free of charge. All participants of the brokerage event will receive this information catalogue about the exhibitors and their offers. Furthermore, interested organisations are requested to express their interest for joining and/or for a specific contact in advance by using the attached form. 6 JS Lasertechnik Fulfill individual needs with the latest laser technology Precision, flexibility and creativity in dealing with ultra-modern CNC equipment: This is what the new company JS laser technology in Stendal stands for. The specialist for stainless steel and metal processing manufactures prototypes, individual parts, small and large series. In the separated steel and stainless steel production facilities in the industrial estate Uenglinger street, sheets were cut from 0.25 to 25 millimeters thickness and can be given in the required form by bevelling. If needed, the company offers the cutting of threads, welding and surface treatments and assembles components to pre-finished groups. The orders come mainly from mechanical engineering, vehicle construction and shipbuilding, as well as any other industry; additionally private investors can have their individual wishes fulfilled. Whether a functional part of a vehicle, a decorative railing or a fancy belt buckle for the carnival - the laser technology allows any form accurately within one tenth of a millimetre. The decisive part of the work involves the preparation and production of construction capable data for the programming system. 8 IPH Institut für Integrierte Produktion Hannover Wind of change At IPH, current research efforts focus on increasing the efficiency of wind energy plants. The output of a plant largely depends on the position of the rotor blades the higher they operate, the more output is achieved. IPH engineers are investigating how plants can be built higher using new leightweight designs. Due to new materials and ways of construction, the towers of the future will be both light and stable. Data mining algorithms are also subject of research at IPH. Able to discover new patterns from existing data, algorithms can help to improve condition monitoring of wind energy plants. Consequently, reliability of condition monitoring will increase while maintenance costs decrease. Bei Wind und Wetter Wie können Windenergieanlagen zukünftig noch mehr Energie gewinnen, um den weltweit steigenden Bedarf zu decken? Und wie kann die Instandsetzung der Anlagen besser geplant werden? In zwei Forschungsprojekten arbeiten Ingenieure des IPH daran, den Betrieb von Windenergieanlagen noch effizienter zu gestalten. Mehr Leichtigkeit: Je höher sich die Rotorblätter einer Windenergieanlage befinden, desto größer ist der Energiegewinn. Damit die Türme zukünftig noch höher gebaut werden können und mehr Windkraft genutzt werden kann, entwickeln Ingenieure des IPH ein neues Leichtbaukonzept. Durch neuartige Materialien und Konstruktionsweisen werden die Türme in Zukunft leichter, verlieren jedoch nicht an Stabilität und bleiben insgesamt sehr widerstandsfähig. Mehr Zuverlässigkeit: Mit Hilfe von Data Mining-Algorithmen soll der Zustand einzelner Offshore- Windenergieanlagen zukünftig besser prognostiziert werden. In Windeseile und ohne den Menschen können die Algorithmen aus vorhandenen Daten bestimmte Zusammenhänge erlernen. Dadurch sind zuverlässigere Zustandsüberwachungen möglich und Instandhaltungsarbeiten besser planbar.
