2 Willkommen Sehr geehrte Mitglieder von OTC Schweiz, Sehr geehrte Kolleginnen und Kollegen, Der 22nd Trauma Course AIOD-OTC Suisse findet am 11. bis 14. September 2017 in Interlaken statt und ist eine Erweiterung des letzten Kurses in Sitten. Der Kurs wird für die Facharztausbildung (FMH) Orthopädische Chirurgie und Traumatologie anerkannt. Neu findet der Kurs an 3 1 / 2 Tagen statt und deckt jeweils pro Halbtag ein Thema ab fractures around Schulter, Ellbogen, Handgelenk, Hüfte Knie und Sprunggelenk/ Fuss. Wir haben uns entschlossen, die Vorträge neu in Englisch vorzutragen. In den Themenblöcken werden Grundlagen und Verletzungen erläutert, die chirurgische Technik dargestellt und praktisch hands on am Kunstknochen durchgeführt. Wir freuen uns auf eine kompetente und erfahrene Faculty, die sich bereit erklärt hat, ihr Know How und Tricks weiterzugeben. Jeder Block dauert 4 Stunden und ist in zwei Teile aufgebaut. Im theoretischen Teil werden die wichtigsten Verletzungen rund um ein Gelenk dargestellt. In einem Referat zur Operationstechnik des Workshops werden die Implantate vorgestellt und die technischen Schritte zur korrekten Anwendung der Implantate erklärt. Der Workshop, das Kernstück des Kurses, bietet dann jedem Teilnehmer die Gelegenheit, das Gehörte und Gelernte praktisch umzusetzen und Osteosynthesen am Kunstknochen durchzuführen. Der Kurs richtet sich an junge Kolleginnen und Kollegen in Ausbildung. Dank Wiederholungen der Grundlagen und sachkundiger Ratschläge von Experten werden die Teilnehmenden ihre spezifische Weiterbildung erweitern und die manuellen Fähigkeiten verbessern können. Wir würden uns sehr freuen, Sie im kommenden Herbst in Interlaken begrüssen zu dürfen. Auch die Geselligkeit soll nicht zu kurz kommen. Als Zeichen des Danks wird den Teilnehmenden, Referenten und Sponsoren am Montagabend ein gemeinsames Abendessen offeriert. Welcome Dear OTC members from Switzerland, Dear colleagues, The 22nd Trauma Course AIOD-OTC Switzerland will take place in Interlaken from September 11-14, 2017, building on the previous course that took place in Sion. The course generates accreditation points for specialized training (FMH) in orthopaedic surgery and traumatology. The 22nd course will innovate by offering a 3 1 / 2 day programme during which each half-day section will discuss a dedicated topic, i.e. fractures around shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee, foot and ankle. Presentations will be made in English. Each thematic block will first introduce basic approaches and injuries, then surgical procedures and hands-on workshops with artificial bones. We are looking forward to working with competent and experienced faculty members who have agreed to share their know how and skills. Each thematic block lasts 4 hours and is divided into two parts. During the theoretical part, major and most common injuries around a given joint will be introduced. During the workshops, a practical lecture on the different steps of the appropriate surgical technique will be given, implants will be presented as well as the technical procedure for their correct use. The workshops are the core of this course and will give each participant the opportunity to apply newly acquired information and to practice osteosynthesis on artificial bones. The course is aimed at young colleagues who are still in training. Participants will be able to refresh their basic knowledge and benefit from expert advice. Thus, they can develop their specific further training and improve their manual technique. We are looking forward to welcoming you in Interlaken this fall.
