Most chrome-plated products are made of machined brass, after polishing the product is stripped of any dirt or grease on its surface by washing it in different chemicals. After cleaning the product is dipped in a chrome-plating vat where the chrome is bonded to the brass under influence of electricity. Schuurmiddelen of schuursponzen mogen nooit gebruikt worden voor het reinigen van gepolijste producten.
