2 EVO SPEED STAR EVO SPEED STAR is a line of multi-process inverter threephase welding power sources (MIG-MAG, MMA, DC TIG with Lift by Cebora contact ignition system), either compact 380 TC (art. 318), or with separate wire feeder 380 TS (art. 319) and 520 Ts (art. 320), with synergic control which allows controlling the welding conditions through just one variable, all the others being pre-set by Cebora and dependent on it. These are innovatory power sources, distinguished by specifi c functions and features that make them particularly competitive and suitable for all those applications that require a high productivity, for instance in the heavy metal work, constructions, shipbuilding etc. The power sources, which assure an excellent arc ignition (strikes) also feature: 1) HD (HIGH DEPOSIT) synergic programs that allow to increase the wire speed (AMP) without changing the voltage (VOLT), consequently increasing the level of deposited material, thus making the welding process more economical and competitive. 2) a specific MIG ROOT welding program, for fi rst pass or high quality vertical root pass such as, for instance, root pass on pipes (with a maximum 5 mm gap). 3) Possibility to work with long stick-outs thanks to an optimization of the control and of the arc steadiness when the operator must work in particular positions (like V-shape). In the Evo Speed Star line are also available the following optional functions: A) TIG PULSE, art. 234 B) Double Level, art. 233 C) Pulse, art. 231 D) the DOUBLE PULSE function is obtained by implementing in the power source both the DOUBLE LEVEL (art. 233) and the PULSE (art. 231) optional functions. The new SOUND DIGIBOX MIG P4 control panel, with OLED technology, has a wide display which allows the operator to easily select and set the different welding modes / options available in the power source. It also allows to always have clearly displayed the current welding parameters (selected process, type and diameter of the used wire, shielding gas etc.). The possibility to access the adjustment and the control of a wide range of power source parameters and functions allows the operator to optimize the use of the machine in the selected welding process. The software and the synergic programs can be updated in the power sources through either RS232 or a USB port. The 380A power source, either compact (art. 318) or with separate wire feeder (art. 319) is equipped with a 4 roller (Ø 30 mm) wire feed device in aluminium. The 500A power source with separate wire feeder (art. 320) has a 4 roller (Ø 40 mm) wire feed device in aluminium. The GRV12 torch cooling unit is standard equipment in the 500A model (optional in the 380A models). The power sources can also be equipped with a water cooled Cebora push-pull torch art (6 m) (10 m) by means of the interface kit art The high effi ciency of the ventilation of the sub-units allows achieving performance levels in continuous mode only slightly below those provided at the maximum current. Diese innovativen Stromquellen zeichnen sich durch Funktionen und besondere Merkmale aus, dank denen sie sich für alle die Anwendungen eignen, die eine hohe Produktivität verlangen, wie z.b. in den Bereichen Schwerstahlbau, Bauwesen und Schiffbau. Diese Stromquellen, die die optimale Zündung des Lichtbogens gewährleisten, bieten außerdem die folgenden Merkmale: 1) Synergiekurven HD - HOHE ABSCHMELZLEISTUNG, die die Erhöhung der Drahtgeschwindigkeit (AMP) um bis zu 30% ohne Änderung der Spannung (VOLT) gestatten. Somit erhöht sich der Materialauftrag, wodurch der Schweißprozess wirtschaftlicher und wettbewerbsfähiger wird. 2) Spezielles Programm MIG ROOT zum Fallnahtschweißen von Wurzellagen hoher Güte beispielsweise bei Rohren (mit Spaltbreiten bis 5 mm). 3) Möglichkeit der Arbeit mit großem Drahtüberstand in Zwangslagen (z.b. V-Naht) durch die optimierte Steuerung und die erhöhte Stabilität des Lichtbogens. Die Geräte der Baureihe Evo Speed Star können außerdem mit den folgenden optionalen Funktionen versehen werden: A) TIG PULSE, art. 234 B) Double Level, art. 233 C) Pulse, art. 231 D) Un die Double pulse Funktion zu implementieren, muß man in der Stromquelle sowohl die DOUBLE LEVEL (art. 233) als die PULSE (art. 231) optionale Funktionen aktivierenn. Die neue Steuertafel Sound Digibox MIG P4 mit OLED- Technologie bietet ein großes bedienerfreundliches Display für die klare Anzeige der aktuellen Schweißparameter (gewähltes Verfahren, Drahttyp und -durchmesser, Schutzgas usw.) sowie die Wahl und Einstellung der verschiedenen Betriebsarten und Schweißoptionen der Stromquelle. Es kann eine Vielzahl von Parametern und Funktionen der Stromquelle kontrolliert und eingestellt werden, so dass der/die Schweißer/in ihre Verwendung beim gewählten Schweißverfahren optimieren kann. Die Software und die Synergiekurven können sowohl über eine Schnittstelle RS-232 als auch über einen USB- Anschluss aktualisiert werden. Das 380A Modell verfügt sowohl in der kompakten Ausführung (Art. 318) als auch in der Ausführung mit separatem Drahtvorschubgerät (Art. 319) über einen Antrieb mit 4 Aluminiumrollen mit 30 mm Durchmesser. Das 500A Modell mit separatem Drahtvorschubgerät (Art. 320) hat einen Antrieb mit 4 Aluminiumrollen mit Durchmesser 40 mm. Das Brenner-Kühlaggregat GRV 12 gehört zur serienmäßigen Ausstattung des 500A Modells (optional beim 380A Modell). An die Stromquellen können über den Anschlusssatz Art. 106 auch die wassergekühlten Push-Pull-Brenner von Cebora Art (6 m) und Art (10 m) angeschlossen werden. Dank des hohen Wirkungsgrads des Lüftungssystems der Baugruppen können im Dauerbetrieb Leistungen erzielt werden, die nur wenig unter den bei der maximalen Stromabgabe erzielbaren Leistungen liegen. Entspricht der Norm EN

4 EVO SPEED STAR - MIG HD By selecting the MIG HD High Deposit welding mode, it is possible to increase the wire speed, the voltage (that remains constant) being unchanged. The deposited material substantially increases, allowing a higher speed (up to 30% more) in the execution of the joint, thus allowing to obtain a higher productivity in the welding process. Durch die Wahl des Schweißverfahrens MIG HD (mit hoher Abschmelzleistung) kann die Drahtgeschwindigkeit bei gleichbleibender Spannung erhöht werden. Der damit deutlich höhere Materialauftrag gestattet die Erhöhung der Schweißgeschwindigkeit (bis zu 30%) und folglich eine höhere Produktionsleistung. 4

5 EVO SPEED STAR - MIG ROOT By selecting the MIG ROOT welding mode, it is possible to carry out root passes where normally TIG welding is used. The MIG ROOT mode allows in fact to obtain welding works of excellent quality, comparable to those obtained in TIG welding, yet marked up by pretty higher welding speed and productivity. It is possible to carry out root passes with a 5 mm gap even in vertical down (see pictures 1 and 2). Mit dem Schweißverfahren MIG ROOT können Wurzellagen dort geschweißt werden, wo gewöhnlich das WIG- Verfahren verwendet wird. Das Verfahren MIG-ROOT ermöglicht Schweißungen optimaler Qualität mit guter Einbrandtiefe, die WIG-Schweißungen vergleichbar sind, sich jedoch durch eine spürbar höhere Schweißgeschwindigkeit und Produktivität auszeichnen. 6 EVO SPEED STAR - LONG STICK-OUT By means of the HD High Deposit welding mode, using the available synergic programs, it is possible to modify the existing relation between voltage and welding current. You can then obtain a longer stick out than the normal one, necessary to weld inside narrow corners and bevels. Example: Speed correction +13% - constant voltage 29.5V Mit dem Schweißverfahren HD (mit hoher Abschmelzleistung) kann man durch Verwendung der verfügbaren Synergiekurven das Verhältnis zwischen Schweißspannung und -strom beeinfl ussen. Dies ermöglicht einen höheren Drahtüberstand (stick out), der beim Schweißen von spitzwinkligen Nähten und in engen Fugen erforderlich ist. 7 EVO SPEED STAR - DOUBLE LEVEL (OPTIONAL) TIG PULSE (OPTIONAL) In the new EVO SPEED STAR range it is possible to implement the Double Level optional function (art. 233). This welding mode makes the current intensity change between two levels and this can be used when welding between two different thicknesses and/or in different positions (for instance, horizontal vertical and vertical). If in the power source is also installed the PULSE optional function, the DOUBLE LEVEL function automatically implements the DOUBLE PULSE function too. Bei der neuen Baureihe EVO SPEED STAR kann die Option Double Level (Art. 233) aktiviert werden. Dieser Modus dient zum Schweißen von Werkstücken mit unterschiedlichen Dicken und zum Schweißen in verschiedenen Positionen (z.b. horizontal frontal und vertikal) und bewirkt die Änderung der Stromstärke zwischen zwei Leveln. Wenn in der Stromquelle auch die PULSE optionale Funktion installiert ist, implementiert die DOUBLE LEVEL Funktion automatisch auch die DOUBLE PULSE Funktion. 8 EVO SPEED STAR - PULSE (OPTIONAL) DOUBLE PULSE (OPTIONAL) In the new EVO SPEED STAR range it is possible to implement the optional PULSE function (art. 231). It is also possible to implement the DOUBLE PULSE function by simply adding to the PULSE function the DOUBLE LEVEL optional function too. Bei der neuen Baureihe EVO SPEED STAR können die optionalen Funktionen PULSE (Art. 231). Es ist auch möglich, die DOUBLE PULSE Funktion einfach zu implementieren, wenn man die beide PULSE und DOUBLE LEVEL optionale Funktionen installiert. PULSE The material and diameter of the wire being equal, double pulse operation permits welding even the thinnest thicknesses. It also allows achieving good welding results in special conditions such as, for instance, vertical upward. DOUBLE PULSE Die Doppelimpulsfunktion erlaubt die Ausführung von Schweißarbeiten an dünneren Blechen bei gleichem Drahtwerkstoff und -durchmesser. Mit ihr erzielt man ferner gute Ergebnisse beim Schweißen unter erschwerten Bedingungen (z. B. vertikale Nähte von unten nach oben). 8

10 EVO SPEED STAR - WIRE FEEDER The 380A power source, either compact (art. 318) or with separate wire feeder (art. 319) is equipped with a 4 roller (Ø 30 mm) wire feed device in aluminium. The 500A power source with separate wire feeder (art. 320) has a 4 roller (Ø 40 mm) wire feed device in aluminium. The connection between power source and wire feed unit is fixed to the wire feeder by means of an additional protective guard which assures an excellent functionality and a long service life (see picture aside). 11 WATER COOLED PUSH PULL TORCH (ART. 2008) The Push-Pull torch art (for EVO SPEED STAR) is equipped with a built-in wire feed motor inside the handle, synchronized with the power source wire feed motor, which allows a perfect wire feed, thanks to the double effect of pushing from the power source and pulling from the torch handle. This is particularly useful in case of small diameter wires or in case of wires of soft material, such as aluminium. The Cebora Push-Pull torch art. 2008, water cooled, has the following characteristics: Duty cycle: 350A al 60%. Great handiness and ergonomicity. Very limited weight. Up/Down control key on the handgrip. Steady and optimal wire feeding. Torch cable: 6 m Art and 10 m Art Suitable for solid and flux cored Ø 0.8, 0.9, 1.0 e 1.2 mm wires. recommended for welding small diameter aluminium wires ( mm). To connect the Push-Pull torch art to the EVO SPEED STAR power sources, equipped with GRV12 cooling unit art. 1683, it is necessary to use the interface art Der Push-Pull-Brenner Art (für EVO SPEED STAR) hat einen in den Griff eingebauten Drahtvorschubmotor, der mit dem Drahtvorschubmotor der Stromquelle synchronisiert ist. Empfohlen zum Schweißen mit dünnen Aluminiumdrähten (0,6-0,8 mm). Für den Anschluss des Push-Pull-Brenners Art an die Stromquellen EVO SPEED STAR mit Kühlaggregat GRV12 Art 1683 ist der Anschlusssatz Art. 106 erforderlich. 11
