Galileo Test Environment (GATE) On behalf of the German Aerospace Centre (DLR), a test area will be established, that gives developers of GALILEO hard- and software the possibility to test and improve their products for the European Satellite Navigation System under nearly realistic conditions. Six ground transmitters will provide a GALILEO signal towards the GATE test area (Southern Germany) The contribution of VCS as subcontractor to IfEN GmbH: Archiving and Data handling Monitoring and Control of the entire system-infrastructure Test Area overall size ca. 65 km², core area ca. 25 km² horizontal accuracy for 3D-positioning:10 m vertical acurracy GPS/GSTB-V2/Galileo:15 m The goal is to achieve an acurracy of 2-5 m in the case of dual-frequency-usage. GMES Service for Alpine Safety and Security improving capabilities of risk warning and crisis management in the alpine region by integrating existing systems and infrastructures for environment and risk monitoring specify, design, implement and validate a generic system architecture for the production and exchange of data products used for risk prevention and risk event management. The backbone of the overall concept are so-called autonomously operated Service Nodes (regional control centre) with specific responsibility within the Service Center network a) day-to-day monitoring and predictions of risk mitigation scenarios b) operation during concrete crisis situations The project team is consists of organisations with different scopes (avalanche prediction, mountain rescue, development of complex server infrastructures, generation of enhanced Earth Observation products, integration of mobile field equipment with positioning and communication capabilities, etc.) and nationalities with corresponding regulatory constraints (Austria, Germany, Italy, Switzerland). The initial validation of the system will be performed within a crossborder test area involving authorities from Austria, Italy, Switzerland. Presentation 7
