Anwendungen sind überall dort, wo öffentlicher Publikumsverkehr ausgeschlossen werden kann. Nebenausgänge oder Türen in Gebäudeteilen, die nur von autorisierten Personen genutzt werden, sind ebenfalls nach EN 179 auszustatten. Anwendungsbeispiele private Wohnanlagen nichtöffentliche Verwaltungen von Industrieunternehmen nichtöffentliche Bereiche von Veranstaltungsgebäuden nichtöffentliche Bereiche von Flughäfen, Banken, Einkaufszentren etc. Als Beschlagelemente sind Drücker oder Stossplatten vorgeschrieben. Les sorties annexes ou les portes des parties d immeubles qui ne sont utilisées que par des personnes autorisées doivent aussi répondre à la norme EN 179. Exemples d utilisation habitations privées administrations non publiques d entreprises industrielles zones non ouvertes au public dans les bâtiments abritant des manifestations zones non ouvertes au public dans les aéroports, les banques, les centres commerciaux etc. Les ferrures sont obligatoirement des poignées ou des plaques de poussée. Anwendungsbeispiele Krankenhäuser Fluchtwege in Schulen öffentliche Verwaltungen Veranstaltungsgebäude Flughäfen Einkaufszentren etc. Hier sind Griff- oder Druckstangen als Beschlagselemente anzuwenden die über die Türbreite (mindestens 60% der Flügelbreite) gehen. Die Norm behandelt nur Paniktürverschlüsse an Drehflügeltüren, deren Masse 200 kg, Höhe 2500 mm und Breite 10 mm nicht übersteigt. Empfehlung: Verschlüsse nach EN 1125 sind immer dann einzusetzen, wenn eine öffentliche Nutzung des Gebäudebereichs vorliegt.
