ROMANTIC ROAD COACH Dear Passenger, Welcome on board our Romantic Road Coach on our way along the Romantic Road. We are delighted that you have decided to travel with us! Important information: Owing to the roadworks on the A3 motorway between Frankfurt and Würzburg, drivers may experience considerable delays, particularly in the morning on the way to Rothenburg and we ask for your understanding. If buses are more than 30 minutes late, please ring one of the Bus Hotlines to check the arrival / departure times for your stop with the drivers: +49 (0)171 6532340 or +49(0)171 6512471 Romantic Road app Every passenger must have a valid printed ticket ready for inspection. If you book on the internet, please print out your ticket. If you book via an agency or travel organiser, you will receive an agency voucher. If you pay the bus driver in cash, you will receive a ticket / receipt in return. If you do not have written evidence of payment when the tickets are checked, you will be deemed to be travelling without a valid ticket and an additional charge of 60.00 will be payable. Our buses are fitted with free W-LAN so you can also download the useful Romantic Road App. This free mobile application provides a detailed introduction to the 29 towns and villages along the Romantic Road and all highlights, including the World Heritage Sites of the Romantic Road, i.e., the Residence in Würzburg, the Limes, the frontier walls of the Roman Empire at Dinkelsbühl and the Pilgrimage Church of Wies, Rothenburg o.d.t. and Neuschwanstein Castle, King Ludwig II of Bavaria s dream-come-true in stone. In addition to a variety of useful features and information, e.g., opening times, admission prices, accessibility, integrated map, historical background, etc., you can immediately convey your impressions and experiences of the Romantic Road via social networks. The app is available from the App Store (iphone) and Google Play Store (Android) in German and English. Naturally, we will also be pleased to give you a free route map. 2

In German, English, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Spanish or Portuguese, it tells you in detail about the towns, villages and sights along the Romantic Road. The deposit of EUR 50.00 or your passport will be returned to you when you hand back the device. If you do not have your own headphones with you, you can purchase a set from the driver for EUR 5.00. ROMANTIC ROAD CLASSIC TOUR Frankfurt - Würzburg - Rothenburg o.d.t. - Augsburg/Munich - Füssen: Würzburg The coach leaves Frankfurt Main Railway Station (Sector A) at 08.00 hrs. On the motorway, past Aschaffenburg and Wertheim Village, the first part of the journey takes us to Würzburg, the beginning/end of the Romantic Road. Continuing, the coach enters the Tauber Valley, stopping in Bad Mergentheim and Weikersheim. From Bad Mergentheim to Harburg, the coach sticks to the Romantic Road. In the medieval towns of Rothenburg, Feuchtwangen, Dinkelsbühl and Nördlingen, it stops in the town centres, so passengers can enjoy the historical flair of these places from the first moment. In Donauwörth, the former Imperial Road (Alte Reichsstrasse) is an impressive sight before crossing the Danube. From there, the coach takes the expressway to Augsburg, the founding city of the Romantic Road. Passengers for Munich/Friedberg change to the train at Augsburg railway station Coach passengers continue via Landsberg am Lech and the Pfaffenwinkel district before making a final photo stop at the Wieskirche, to reach Füssen. ROMANTIC ROAD CLASSIC TOUR Photo stops: Würzburg, Weikersheim, Rothenburg o.d.t., Feuchtwangen, Dinkelsbühl, Nördlingen, Augsburg and Wieskirche There are public toilets and shops for food and beverages at all stops (workdays). Refreshments (wine, beer, soft drinks) are available on the coach. Bad Mergentheim Nördlingen Journey along the Romantic Road: Bad Mergentheim to Nördlingen and from Hohenfurch to Füssen. Dinkelsbühl Wieskirche In the Tauber Valley, the route runs alongside vineyards, past numerous wine-growing villages, such as Markelsheim, Röttingen and Weikersheim. A glance at the steeply sloping vineyards leaves no doubt that the vines are cultivated using manual methods. The landscape is characteristic and the road very narrow a region reminiscent of the good old days, where time seems to have stood still. At Schillingsfürst, the coach crosses the Europe watershed between the rivers Main and Danube and enters the Franconian heights with its numerous fruit trees, which provide the raw material not only for fruit juice but also schnapps. From Schillingsfürst, the River Wörnitz runs parallel to the Romantic Road before flowing into the Danube, Central Europe s second-longest river, at Donauwörth. Also impressive is the journey from Nördlingen to Harburg, across the Ries Geopark, a crater produced by a meteorite strike millions of years ago and which nowadays counts as one of the most fertile regions of Bavaria. 6

ROMANTIC ROAD EXPRESS Füssen - Munich - Augsburg - Rothenburg o.d.t. - Würzburg - Frankfurt The coach leaves from Füssen/station at 08.00 hrs and Hohenschwangau/Schwangau at 08.05/08.10 hrs. At the Wieskirche, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, there is time for sightseeing providing no service is taking place. The route then runs across the Pfaffenwinkel district, past the magnificent silhouette of the Alps, on past Rottenbuch and Peiting straight to Munich s Main Bus Station (ZOB) at Hackerbrücke. The journey continues on the motorway to Augsburg, the capital of Swabia. From there, the coach continues along the expressway, via Donauwörth and Harburg, to Nördlingen. On the way to Rothenburg o.d.t., stops are also made in Dinkelsbühl and Feuchtwangen. From Rothenburg o.d.t., the route winds its way through the Tauber Valley with stops in Weikersheim and a final photo stop at the Prince Bishops Residence in Würzburg, before continuing to Frankfurt. From there, the River Wörnitz runs parallel to the Romantic Road. Particularly attractive is the view from Harburg. Crossing the Nördlinger Ries, you can t help but notice the heavy and fertile soil, the result of a meteorite strike millions of years ago. The potatoes which grow here are famous and are eaten throughout Germany. Dinkelsbühl and Feuchtwangen are surrounded by innumerable ponds, which are used to breed carp, a Franconian speciality when it reaches the dinner table. This is also the home of numerous storks, which nest in the towns and villages along the Romantic Road. On the way to Rothenburg, the coach passes Schillingsfürst, attractively situated in the Franconian Heights Nature Park. In the Tauber Valley, the route is lined with vines bearing the grapes for red and white wine, bottled in its uniquely shaped bottles 'Bocksbeutel', traditionally used in Franconia. If you want to have a fixed seat reservation, then you should book the partial itineraries. Bicycle Transport: Bicycles can be loaded at all regular stops. A binding booking must be made at least three days in advance. E-bikes are carried on request. All bicycles are transported at the owner s risk and with no liability for damage of any kind. TEMPORARY STOPS: Würzburg: If the Residenzplatz is closed, the coach will only stop at Stop 12 at the station. Weikersheim: Tauberwiesen Rothenburg o.d.t.: If the Schrannenplatz is closed, the coach will only stop at the station.
