Collaborations (Beamlines) EMBL: Construction and operation of - 2 macromolecular crystallography (MX)- and - 1 unfocussed (Bio-)SAXS-beamline GKSS: Construction and operation of equivalent of 2 beamlines - 70% high energy materials science - 20% Bio-SAXS (with EMBL) - ~50% micro-tomography/imaging (under discussion) - ~50% resonant scattering (under discussion) MPG: Financing of construction and operation (10 years) of 1.5 beamlines University Hamburg and Lübeck: each: 10% of a MX-beamline (construction and personnel, with EMBL) Further participations in the field of MX are under discussion. 1-Jun-05 Edgar Weckert: DESY-MAC May 2005 5

PETRA III: General Organisation Framework the project is carried out in a DESY matrix structure about 40 work packages Agreements between project leader (PL), work package leaders and group and divisions leaders govern the deliverables of the individual DESY groups PL controls the project finances Support for the PL by a project management by the project support office: finance controlling, scheduling, archiving, documentation and WEB-communication Support is also given by the central DESY administration and infrastructure 1-Jun-05 Edgar Weckert: DESY-MAC May 2005 12
