Decomissioning and dismantling of NPP Obrigheim Principles for the planning and licensing procedure for remote dismantling of activated components Take into account the experience and knowledge from dismantling of other performed projects Reuse of equipment, which was in successful operation in other projects (dismantling and packaging equipment), no experiments! Pre-performance of fabrication tests and on-site tests together with authority and independent experts (TÜV) on another nuclear place to avoid cost intensive 1:1-model dismantling before hot-start Equipment design independent from existing plant equipment on-site Design and construction for fast assembling and disassembling of the additional dismantling and packaging equipment Design for reuse in different units Comprehensive staff training 46

Resume Energie braucht Impulse
52 Decomissioning and dismantling of NPP Obrigheim Lessons learnt by KWO Requirement to reduce the fix costs and the instruction reglement of post operation - consequently and permanently! Apply the right things on the critical path of project realization! Make possible to start the things immediately after getting the license! (Many things can be done before on the level to be proved by authority - like installation of new locks, of remote dismantling and packaging equipment ) Reduce the number of necessary licensing steps for dismantling! The mass flow logistic and disposal strategy are the key points of dismantling! Early invite the public to convince them of necessity - you will do! Reduce transportation of radioactive material on public streets! Disconnect the free releasing procedures from dismantling licensing and check them early in reality!
