2 3 General information The retrofit kit is only for use within the BMW dealer organisation. The wiring harness overview and the circuit diagram are included in the installation instructions headed Retrofit mobile phone wiring harness for the BMW 3 Series E46/2/3/4.These are supplied with the retrofit wiring harness. The preparations and the installation of the retrofit kit are shown for a car in model series E46/4 with standard equipment. Special equipment and retrofits may result in differences from the various illustrations in the installation instructions. Further information is given in the Technical Information System (TIS). Wichtige Hinweise Installation time The installation time is approx. 5 hours. The installation time for the phone aerial must be added to this. The installation time may differ depending on the condition of the car and the equipment in it. Important information Target group The target group for these installation instructions is staff who have been trained on BMW cars with specialist knowledge of body electrics. Work All servicing, repair, installation and adjustment work on cars is completed at your own risk. All work is to be completed using the latest BMW - Repair instructions (see Technical Information System), - Circuit diagrams (see Diagnostics Information System), in a rational sequence using the prescribed tools (special tools) and pursuant to the relevant health and safety regulations. Installation instructions The retrofit wiring harness is to be installed in such a way that it cannot kink or chafe. All work is shown on a left-hand drive car. Some work has to be completed the opposite way round on a righthand drive car. Safety instructions Follow the latest accident prevention regulations. Follow the safety instructions for dealing with the airbag system. Further information is available in the TIS under RA-No If you fail to follow the safety regulations, the airbag system may deploy incorrectly and cause injury. Ordering instructions Centre console insert The insert for the centre console is supplied with the retrofit kit in the standard black colour. A coloured insert for the centre console can be ordered if required for cars with different coloured trim. All the other order information for this is in the EPC. Microphone trim The microphone trim for cars without a glass sunroof (SA 403) is supplied with the retrofit kit in anthracite. A coloured trim can be ordered if required on cars with a glass sunroof (SA 403). All the other order information for this is in the EPC. 21 37 Nach dem Einbau des Mobiltelefons sind folgende Arbeiten durchzuführen: 1. Codierung durchführen. Dieses System ist codierrelevant. Damit das Nachrüstsystem: - im vollen Umfang funktionsfähig ist - im Verbund mit den anderen elektrischen Fahrzeugsystemen Fehlfunktionen und Störungen ausschließt, muß eine Codierung dieses Systems und ggf. weiterer Fahrzeugsteuergeräte durchgeführt werden. Diese Codierung wird automatisch mit dem jeweils aktuellen Codierprogramm im Pfad Nachrüstung durchgeführt. Der Ablauf ist bedienergeführt. Es sind die jeweiligen Texthinweise bei der Durchführung der einzelnen Schritte zu beachten. Zur Codierung ist jeweils die aktuelle Version des Codierprogrammes zu verwenden. Afin que ce système de deuxième monte: - fonctionne dans son intégralité - exclue toute perturbation et tout dysfonctionnement par rapport aux autres systèmes électriques présents dans la voiture - il faut procéder au codage de ce système et, le cas échéant, d'autres appareils de commande présents dans la voiture. Ce codage s'effectue automatiquement grâce au programme de codage en vigueur dans le répertoire "Deuxième monte". La procédure est commandée par l'opérateur. Lors des différentes étapes, respecter les indications écrites qui apparaissent. Utiliser pour le codage la dernière version du programme de codage. 2. Effectuer un test rapide. 3.
