Health Technology Decision-analytic Modeling Introduction to Health Technology Modeling Approaches in HTA: a Practical Hands-on Workshop This introductory course coverst the key elements and methods of HTA and DS and combines lectures, discussions, case study group work and hands-on computer lab sessions. The doctoral program is module-based. These three modules represent a thematically consistent topic, which provides a supporting framework for the respective dissertation project and encourage sindependent research performances. MODULE 1: Research Process Module 1 consists of consecutive seminars (scientific research and work, quantitative and qualitative methodology seminars, etc.) as well as accompanying seminars (literature search; peer-review-methods; How to write a paper, etc.). The consecutive seminars are planned, in general, without overlaps. The accompanying seminars are, independent from already attended seminars, freely selectable. MODULE 2: Supervision and Support Within the framework of module 2, outcome seminars and one-to-one mentorship meeting are offered, which serve as intensive preparation and support of studies in all phases. Topics such as research question, research design, procedures, specific strategies of analysis, synthesis of results, logic of argumentation of dissertation etc. are developed and discussed. The outcome seminars take place in an interdisciplinary plenum. One-to-one mentorship meeting s are conducted individually between a supervisor and a student. MODULE 3: Content Focus Seminars in module 3 concentrate on the focus of content of the dissertation projects. Free ECTS Points Out of the 60 ECTS points, which have to be completed successfully, a maximum of 20 ECTS points can be acquired as free ECTS points (e.g., active teaching at UMIT, supervision of theses, participation of congresses and continuing education, participation in academic committees and academic projects outside the framework of doctoral studies, privatissima).
