12 Conclusions Main drivers of nature-based tourism in alpine tourist destinations are the existence of a beautiful alpine environment / of attractive protected areas the strong cooperation between destination, suppliers, protected area management and further stakeholders of a region / destination the affinity of the key guest segments of a destination for naturebased tourism offers the nature-based tourism as a main product and as an important part of the strategy of a destination 12

13 Quality standards Normative standards are a common instrument in the quality management It should be consistent and base on generally acknowledged directives refer to a state of systems (alpine destinations, sust. tourism, nature-based tourism, protected areas) formulate applicable requirements for specific target groups (destination management, protected areas, politics) 13
